This was a one owner truck and is all original.  I bought the truck from a gentleman I worked with in the past.  His mother bought it new and it has never left Tennessee.  It spent most of its life under roof.  The only thing this truck has pulled was his fishing boat to the lake.  Speedometer shows 75,418 miles and I was told the mileage is accurate.  By the condition of the truck, I would say the mileage is true.  It still has the original 305 motor which runs very well, and original 400 automatic transmission.  The paint is original and also in good condition for being 30 years old.  It has some scuffs and scrapes, mainly in pin striping, wheel guards, and a little in some of the chrome molding, but nothing bad.  Equipped with factory a/c which works well.  The bed is in very good shape and was always covered by a rubber bed mat.  Mat comes with the truck, but does not show in pictures as I took it out to take pictures.  There is a matching custom fiberglass truck cap that goes with it, if desired.   The truck is rust free, only bad thing I can tell is the dash which has some cracks in it.  There is a carpet dash cover that comes with it, that does not show in the pictures.  The fabric bench seat and carpet are in good shape, drivers side seat is wearing some, but not all the way through.  This truck has a lot of potential.  If I were to keep it, I would leave it alone and enjoy going to truck shows the way it is, being original.  It would be a very easy restoration project, or make a hot rod out of it.  It is a very nice truck in it's current condition or for whatever use you may have for it.  For any additionally information, feel free to call me at 865-680-5686.

Now for the business end, serious bidders only.  We have been down this road before and know the games and scams.  Offered for Local Pickup Only, no shipping by seller.  $250 deposit via Pay Pal within 48 hours of auction close.  Balance due in Cash at pickup.  Any other arrangements must be made and approved prior to purchase.

Bid with confidence as the truck has been accurately described and truthfully represented.

Thanks and good luck.

2013 GMC Acadia Denali

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Refreshed, Not Refreshing
I'm probably ill-suited to accurately and fairly take the full measure of a vehicle like the 2013 GMC Acadia Denali. This is a machine conjured around the express notion of corralling and then herding a brood of rafter-swinging hatchlings to and fro in relative comfort, and with no such passel of wee Bowmans to call my own, it's difficult to give this rig a fair shake. While I can certainly weigh cargo capacity, legroom and fuel economy stats with the best of them, I'd be lying to your face if I said the word "crossover" didn't urge some uncontrollable Pavlovian recoil from the murky recesses of my frame. To put it simply, I just can't stand the damn things.
As a rule, the segment is built on a bed of compromise. Manufacturers love nothing more than to spin up a tired yarn about the virtues of this particular neck of the market. We're told the crossbreeds deliver all the ride quality, driving dynamics and fuel economy of a car married with the seating position, capability and interior volume of the SUV set. That all sounds as swell as a sunset, but as the 2013 Acadia Denali so artfully illustrates, the advertising on the box is rarely congruous with the prize inside. Even with an imaginary squad of younglings at my heels, the refreshed luxury crossover doesn't quite manage to scratch the promised itches.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.

Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks to get diesel engines

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

The market for midsize pickup trucks has all but been abandoned in the US, but General Motors is about to shake the market up with the all-new (to the US) Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. Launching next year, GM already told us that its new trucks would be a "fuel-efficient alternative" to fullsize trucks, and aside from the smaller size, Automotive News says that these trucks will accomplish this with a diesel engine.
According to the AN report, the next-gen Colorado and Canyon will offer a small, four-cylinder Duramax turbo diesel with a displacement of either 2.5 or 2.8 liters - both engines are currently used in this truck for other markets. This would allow GM to join the Cummins-powered Nissan Titan and Ram 1500 EcoDiesel as the only non-HD trucks in the US to offer diesel. The article goes on to say that the diesel versions of the Colorado and Canyon would launch about a year after the trucks go into production in fall of 2014.
