Rare all originl 1971 sportsroof 429-4V engine with the Brougham optioned fully loaded factory high back buckets, console, cruise control, AC, power windows, power door locks, power seats, and power front disc brakes. also has the rare jet cockpit style indicator lights in the center of the roof and am/fm 8-track. Production numbers 1 of 2,992 made. (Body code 65A sportsroof)  (Trim code AF for medium ginger interior) ( Color code O for light yellow gold), all numbers matching drive train, paint color etc. Has the factory brown cayman grain alligator vinyl roof in good shape for it's age. This car was purchased from a doctor in northen New Mexico I have the original window sticker and build sheet. This car runs and drives excellent, transmission shifts very smooth! it has brand new Hankook tires, new brakes all around radiator flush and tune-up, sequential taillights work great, Portions of the interior were redone by a custom designer in the 1970s as a southwest theme all professionally done!  All the seats, headliner, door panels and carpet are all in very good condition, the dash pad has cracks in three places. All the chrome is presentable but not perfect there are minor flaws in the side moldings. The lower very bottom of the quarters have surface rust and some paint bubbling that has started that will need to be addressed but it is not completely through. The paint displays very well but again this is not a show car but a nice driver that is very worthy of local events and shows and it catches alot of attention and positive comments! This car has no unusual smells, leaks, noises etc  The reserve is set very low for this nice original example. I always recomend to buyers to have vehicles inspected  for complete satifaction, and ask alot of questions. Car is offered as-is no warranty.

Watch how a Ford Raptor rolls down the assembly line in Dearborn

Sun, 30 Mar 2014

Bloomberg TV reporter Matt Miller is the proud new owner of a pretty killer truck. How do we know? The reporter headed to Dearborn, MI to Ford's assembly plant, with a film crew in tow, to see exactly how his new F-150 SVT Raptor and its mother-loving 6.2-liter V8 engine, was screwed together.
The resulting video does an excellent job of summing up how an assemblage of parts and pieces is turned into a triple-black Raptor, thanks to the work of some 1,000 employees and about 20 hours of real time. Click through below to see how the truck is born, with a surprise cameo playing the part of delivery driver at the end.

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor sales jumping to new heights

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

Ford can't seem to build F-150 SVT Raptors fast enough. The off-road-ready trucks have been one of the Blue Oval's most reliable sellers, with record sales in eight of the last 10 months and a 14-percent jump in 2013. That's impressive enough, considering that the least expensive Raptor starts at $44,000. Factor in the modded F-150's fuel economy (it's rated at 11 miles per gallon in the city and 16 on the highway) and a national average gas price, as of this writing, of $3.55 per gallon, and its success is as unlikely as Ford's home team, the Detroit Lions, winning the Super Bowl this year (sorry, Lions fans, we're just quoting the experts in Vegas...).
Yet for some reason, Raptors spend an average of just 15 days on dealer lots before being snapped up, which is a quarter of the 60-day industry average. According to Ford's truck group marketing manager, Doug Scott, it's capability that keeps the Raptor selling strong. "What's helping drive Raptor sales is that Raptor delivers unmatched off-road performance to our customers. Raptor is also proof of our commitment to offer a truck for every customer and continuously improving them to meet our customers' evolving needs."
To address the strong demand for Raptors, Ford will bump production from three trucks per hour to five. Not much, we agree. But building an extra 48 trucks per day, at most, seems like a prudent way of addressing demand without oversaturating what is ultimately a niche market. Check out the press release below for more.

Ford Fiesta ST GRC Racecar is hungry for podiums in 2013

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

As we reported earlier, the Chicago showing of this plucky Ford Fiesta ST GRC racer points to bigger and brighter days for Global RallyCross. For the upcoming season, you can expect to see Ken Block and Tanner Foust both driving the Ford racecar, and if last season's results are any indication, you can anticipate quite a few podium appearances, as well.
The Fiesta seen here was built by the Swedes at OlsbergsMSE, and will be driven in anger by Foust in 2013. Modifications are, as you'd expect, extensive, and include an engine, exhaust and braking upgrades, a racing style short-throw shifter and a limited-slip differential. As you can see, the car has been fully stripped out and caged for maximum speed and safety, too.
Refresh your memories with the details of the car, in the press releases below. And if you head out to the Chicago Auto Show this year, don't forget to drop by the Ford stand to have a look.
