Vintage 1964 FORD Thunderbird 2 Dr. Ht. original white interior. The driver bucket has a small line of stitching that has come undone, not torn, just unstitched with no tares or rips. The carpet is black and in good original condition. Dash board all original with all gauges present and working other than clock is there just not working. Push button stereo original radio. Head liner is white and in excellent condition with no rips, tares, or any other issues. Paint is not original. It is a very dark blue with a mini metal flake that really is beginning to show it's age, about 20 years old so, it's time. There's no dents other than maybe a ding and I mean a small ding or two here and there, not even serious shopping cart dings. The tires and rims are custom 20" star chrome rims with 20" low profile tires in decent shape. The odometer reads 99193 and 4 tenths however the motor was pulled out, then completely re-built, balanced and blue printed and there are less than 3,000 miles on it, so the engine is original and the numbers match the frame and tranny. Tranny works well, and shifts good. All glass is present and in good condition as is all of the chrome with no chrome pieces missing. This Bird is very clean and the body is extremely straight, no waves, dents, parts missing or any other issues. It also has the original (not after market) skirts and a custom chrome grill.  It has a good clean title. The terms are $15,000 with $500 down and balance in either cash or cashier's check at close of auction or when picked up. This car is ready to start and drive you home tonight. This is a good sound car and is ready to star enjoying tonight! Any questions or concerns, please call (602) 722-5299 Peter or (480)227-1570 Malachi If you will be shipping instead of driving it home, we will help you locate a shipper.

Ford Explorer Jackson Pollock Edition results in trip to hospital

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

Among the many useful pieces of driving advice we've taken to heart over the years, "Safely secure all cargo" is etched pretty high on our personal stone tablets. We've had a couple of frustrating moments over the years (numerous wonky cupholders and too-tall lidded cups; a radar detector that released its suction cups and dashed itself below the dashboard, etc.), but never anything like the scene above.
These photos above come courtesy of the Washington State Patrol, and they show the unfortunate aftermath of a driver, his dog, and his Ford Explorer after it crashed near the town of Belfair last week. According to reports, the man was schlepping five-gallon containers of paint inside his vehicle when he was involved in an unexplained accident. It's not clear what triggered the crash, but the impromptu abstract painting covered the whole of the interior, including the driver and his faithful companion.
The man was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, and his dog was cleaned and later taken to a humane society.

Which is more fuel efficient, driving with a pickup's tailgate up or down?

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Thanks to the smoke wand in the wind tunnel, you can actually see the difference in our video.
Should you drive with your pickup truck's tailgate up or down? It's an age-old controversy that's divided drivers for decades. Traditionalists will swear you should leave the tailgate down. Makes sense, right? It would seem to let the air flow more cleanly over the body and through the bed. But there's also a school of thought that argues trucks are designed to look and operate in a specific manner, and modern design techniques can help channel the airflow properly. So don't mess with all of that: Leave the tailgate up.

Ford posts record pre-tax Q3 profit of $2.6B

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Ford took in $2.6 billion in pre-tax profits in the third quarter of the year, making for a record trio of months that saw the Blue Oval's year-over-year earnings increase by $426 million. The earnings are being attributed not just to improvements in North American sales, but sales around the globe.
Revenue was up 12 percent, to $36 billion, although net income took a hit, dropping $359 million to $1.3 billion. Ford was dinged with $498 million in pre-tax charges, which are being blamed for the drop in net income.
The news has boosted Ford's hopes for full-year results, bumping it's total profits up past $8 billion, according to Automotive News. The Dearborn, MI-based manufacturer is still expecting a loss in Europe, although it's forecasted less than the $1.73 billion it burned in 2012. In fact, according to CFO Bob Shanks, Ford's European losses dropped by 51 percent year-over year, a huge improvement for the brand.
