1971 Ford Ranchero Gt 5.8l on 2040-cars
Blackfoot, Idaho, United States
1971 Ford Ranchero GT This is a 1971 Ford Ranchero GT, This is a rare option as far as a ranchero goes. This is a great project car for someone to finish and do how they want. There is minimal body work needed on the car, very little rust on the car, it has been in Idaho most of its life. There are a few dents that would need repaired. With this rare option on this GT car, it has a running 351 Cleveland engine with a C6 transmission behind it with a 9 in rearend. Great bullet proof drivetrain! This 351 has a SHAKER type air cleaner on it which is very hard to come by. Original to the car. The ranchero has a brand new exhaust on it, It is a flowmaster exhaust. The paint is in decent condition, will need a new paint job. The bed of the ranchero is in good shape, very small spot of rust. The interior is all there, It came with a white interior. Bucket seats with a center console. The mileage on the car is excempt but I can assure you the engine and trans run very well. It has been tuned up a little bit with plugs and wires and such. We replaced the drivers exhaust manifold due to a crack so that is fixed now. This is a great project ranchero, hard to find GT option. Please message me with any questions about the car. It does have a clear Idaho title. |

Man turns Ford Fiesta into a one-car band
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The one-man band is a rather ridiculous idea, drawing up images of one person attempting to manipulate several instruments, at once, in a vain attempt at creating music. It's usually represented by silly scenes like this. Interestingly, the concept isn't much more successful when the "man" in "one-man band" is replaced with "car," as we see in this video.
It seems that someone rigged up and edited (699 times, we might add) a Ford Fiesta, a bucket, 12 PVC pipes and the natural sounds that a car makes to come up with a song. Now, we don't recognize the tune, so we've no idea if this is a cover or an original piece. And while it's hardly Beethoven, we have to admire the amount of effort the "conductor" went to in his attempt to turn a subcompact car into a musical instrument(s). Take a look (or listen) below for the entire video.
Ford posts record pre-tax Q3 profit of $2.6B
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Ford took in $2.6 billion in pre-tax profits in the third quarter of the year, making for a record trio of months that saw the Blue Oval's year-over-year earnings increase by $426 million. The earnings are being attributed not just to improvements in North American sales, but sales around the globe.
Revenue was up 12 percent, to $36 billion, although net income took a hit, dropping $359 million to $1.3 billion. Ford was dinged with $498 million in pre-tax charges, which are being blamed for the drop in net income.
The news has boosted Ford's hopes for full-year results, bumping it's total profits up past $8 billion, according to Automotive News. The Dearborn, MI-based manufacturer is still expecting a loss in Europe, although it's forecasted less than the $1.73 billion it burned in 2012. In fact, according to CFO Bob Shanks, Ford's European losses dropped by 51 percent year-over year, a huge improvement for the brand.
Ford reports $3B profit in Q4, $6.9B for the year
Tue, 28 Jan 2014Good news out of Dearborn today, as Ford announced $3 billion in profit for the last quarter of 2013, a 90-percent increase over the same period of 2012. Net income for all of last year, meanwhile, jumped to $7.2 billion from $5.7 billion in 2012, while pre-tax profits sat at a decade-topping $6.9 billion for all of 2013.
The results of the substantial profit increases are bigger profit-sharing checks for UAW employees. How big? A record $8,800 on average for 47,000 UAW workers, making 2013 the biggest year for profit sharing in Ford history. In total, $414 million will be paid as part of the profit-sharing scheme.
Now, it should be pointed out that a fair portion of Ford's Q4 profits were due to tax benefits, totaling $2.1 billion, according to Automotive News. Total profits would have also been higher, had there not been a significant recall on the Escape, as well as plant issues in South America.
