Need to sell my baby to get a car for my daughter.  For sale  is this 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra. This is a true numbers matching low mileage Cobra. It has only 54k pampered miles. I just got it out of winter storage. Never seen snow or salt. I have all original parts for the car including a set of factory Cobra wheels and tires. The car is mostly stock except the following:

Ford racing springs
18*9/ 18*10 staggered bullet style deep dish wheels (less than 500 miles since put on)
Legal 35% window tint
K&N filter
Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust.

All services are up to date. I just changed the oil and filter and transmission fluid when I took it out of storage with full synthetic Mobil 1. New factory Cobra clutch installed last season. The car is in excellent condition. Does have a couple minor nicks just from being bumped into in the garage, but nothing noticeable unless you look hard. Interior is 8/10, exterior I would rate the same. The top was replaced a few years back and looks brand new.  Car runs and drives excellent!

This car still retails around 16k. It has held it's value well over the years. Would be a great investment, or just a great car to have some fun with.

Thank you for looking and your consideration. Please contact me any time with questions. You will not be disappointed!

Buy now or bid with confidence!  I will drop the reserve if the auction reaches close to my reserve!!!

Ford's Farley apologizes for saying Blue Oval tracks customers with GPS

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

Ford marketing head honcho Jim Farley made waves at CES this week by telling show attendees, "We know everyone who breaks the law, we know when you're doing it." according to a report by Business Insider. Farley continued by saying, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone."
Farley has since amended his statement, saying that Ford dose not, in fact, track its customers in their cars "without their approval or consent."
Apparently carried away with a hypothetical notion, Farley was attempting to describe how Ford might be able to employee aggregated user data for things like accurate traffic reporting and pattern spotting. A Ford spokesperson confirmed with Business Insider that its GPS units are not sharing the whereabouts of drivers, though there are a few on-board services that might do so. After opting in to the services (and presumably being made aware of any/all tracking and data collection), Ford's Sync Services Directions and Crew Chief software do, in fact, allow data collection as a means of improving both systems. Farley added that the opt-in data is not shared, even when being tracked.

Detroit 3 small cars lay an egg in latest Consumer Reports reliability study

Tue, 28 Oct 2014

Consumer Reports has released its Annual Auto Reliability Survey and the results are, in a word, interesting. While we already covered the score-damaging effects of infotainment systems, there's another big angle to the data that's getting some attention - the utterly dismal scores of the Detroit Three's small car offerings.
The turbocharged Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the Ford Fiesta were their respective brands' lowest-scoring models, a stat that's made worse by the fact that the American automakers finished 25th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
That's not acceptable for The Detroit Free Press' auto critic, Mark Phelan, who has penned a scathing critique of the D3's small car reliability scores, arguing that GM, Ford and Chrysler are "out of excuses."

Ford gets its Movement on, releases 'Sounds of Focus' tracks

Sun, 25 May 2014

Ford has, for at least the second year in a row, teamed up with techno promoter Paxahau and a couple of artists to make music in recognition of the Detroit Movement music festival. This time, Movement performers Ataxia and Secrets were selected by Ford, and were invited to spend some time at the automaker's Michigan Assembly Plant, which gives birth to the Ford Focus and Focus Electric models.
Now that we know the what, how about the why? According to Ford, "Detroit is uniquely tied to the origins of the electronic music scene. In the 1980's variations of electronic music stemmed from inspirations of industry, including the automotive sector." So, there you go. If you're interest is piqued, feel free to read the press release, watch the video and listen to the tracks below.
