I am being transferred out of state and have three other Mustangs to deal with, so this one goes. This is being offered as a great parts source car (a donor for your project) or if so, make yours the donor and build on top of this one. Since I was raised to be honest, it must be stated upfront that this car has many, many new parts, there are a couple of areas that need disclosing:
1. The front end steering/suspension probably needs lower control arms, ball joints replaced. (The front end tie rods are new).
2. The engine is a 1979 351W with the electronic ignition components in use (computer module is new). However, this engine has started to display serious sounds that may even be failing main bearings on the crank shaft, along with some smoke now. This is the engine that came with the car so its history is unknown but I do feel it is on the way to necessary rebuild.
3. Windshild wipers don't work -- as switch needs replacing.
So, I make no warranties and am offering the car as a parts car. Please do not ask me to part single parts. I will only ignore such requests. This car is offered as a whole.
This car stated life in the New York area as a base Copper/Gold Grande with a 302 automatic.
Body condition: Good.
Details: Hood has one ding in it, the front quarters are from other cars. Underside is solid with usual surface rust but no holes or rot. Rear truck lid has a ding in one corner.
The following are the many new parts:
Most of the interior is new (repro in most cases). The back seat upholstry has a blemish on the lower seat.
Includes Kenwood KDC-HD450U radio inside glove box.
New front tie rods.
New tires less than 200 miles use) and new vintage wheels
New tail lights lens, and new lens for all parking lights
The entire rear end (8 inch) was swapped with a indentical better condition rear end from another 71 Mustang
New shocks all around, new rear leaf springs, new mufflers.
Front wheels have new disk brake rotors and wheel bearings.
Door handles, locks are new.
The original Ford AM/FM radio works.
New TCI C4 transmission with less than 100 miles on it. The drive shaft is new.
Tac and instrutment cluster added by previous owner.
On the engine: Recent battery, new altenator, power steering pump, belts, water pump, engine mounts, and harmonic balancer. New rebuilt autolite 2 Barrel carb., spark wires.
Again, this is being offered as a PARTS Car. The tires and wheels alone are worth the starting price.
Please do not ask me to part single parts. I will ignore all such requests.

New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides
Mon, 22 Jul 2013It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.
Ford recalls 83k Taurus and crossover models for halfshaft issue
Fri, 15 Aug 2014Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued a recall for some 83,250 vehicles in the US, for an issue with halfshafts. More specifically a "halfshaft retention circlip" might not have been properly installed on affected vehicles, with the result being halfshafts that may move improperly or disengage completely from the linkshaft while driving. The NHTSA release also notes that the issue may occur "without prior warning" which obviously factors in to the timeliness of getting this checked.
Should the halfshaft disengage, a few troubling things could happen. If it occurs while driving, power from the engine will no longer be transmitted to the wheels. And, if the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied after disengagement of the circlip, vehicles may roll away even if they're transmissions have been placed in "Park."
Affected vehicles are as follows: Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers from model years 2012 to 2014; Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS sedans from model years 2013 to 2014; Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles from model years 2013 to 2014.
2015 Ford F-150 to get 2.7-liter EcoBoost?
Mon, 30 Dec 2013As we prepare for the arrival of the all-new, next-generation Ford F-150, rumors about the new truck are picking up steam. Naturally, many of said rumors aren't just related to the way the truck will look (it's expected to take design cues from the Atlas concept shown above), they're tied to what's going to motivate the Blue Oval mainstay, with Ford's EcoBoost range likely to play an increasingly key role. While we're still expecting the current 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 to retain its position as a premium alternative to Ford's naturally aspirated V6 and V8, a Canadian automotive news site is proposing that the Dearborn automaker is also preparing a new, more fuel-efficient downsized EcoBoost option.
Autos.ca is reporting that a new, 2.7-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 could find its way into the lighter, aluminum-intensive truck. The new engine supposedly makes use of asymmetrical turbos to generate 320 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque - substantially more impressive numbers than the current 3.7-liter base engine's 302 ponies and 278 lb-ft - while offering improved fuel economy and emissions. The new 2.7 EcoBoost (internally dubbed "Nano") isn't expected to supplant the naturally aspirated V6 as the F-150's base engine, it's expected to slot in above directly it.
Naturally, we're prescribing more than a few grains of salt to go with these rumors, at least until Ford debuts the next F-150 at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, a reveal we'll be covering in a mere two weeks.
