Ford 1928 Model A Tudor Sedan, Original Restored, Two Tone Blue, Runs Great! on 2040-cars
Jackson, Michigan, United States
This car has been owned & lovingly restored over the past 20 yrs by my brother. He is the third owner. He has driven it in the local car club trips and to shows in southern Michigan. In the past few years he has been having some sight problems and must give up driving soon. So he has decided to sell, and asked me to help with the sale. When I shot these photos he started it up and drove it around the area.
As stated, the body, fenders, wheels, engine and radiator are original. The engine which came in the car is a 1928-29. (NOTE: The mileage is unknown. I had to list something, so I listed 5500. only for the eBay form.) The running boards and slash apron are after market, as is the Spartan "Ooga" Horn, and "Flying Quail" radiator cap. The tires are new within the last 5 years. There is no surface rust. The fenders have a few small dings or dents and are painted in black primer only for now. It is very clean inside, the upholstery was redone professionally a few yrs ago in a gray tweed upholstery fabric, no stains tears or problems. The back seat was filled with some car club signage so I did not shoot a picture, but I can provide any pictures you would like, just lest me know specifically what you need to see. The buyer will need to arrange for pick up / shipping from south central Michigan. It's a fun car to drive around on weekends! |

Airbag recall widens to include BMW, Chrysler, Ford and Toyota
Mon, 23 Jun 2014The recall of faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata has exploded today to grow to seven automakers. In most cases, only models in certain high-humidity regions were affected because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found in its investigation that moisture played a roll in determining whether there would be a problem. However, some companies opted for national campaigns. The exact number of affected models for these campaigns isn't yet known at this time.
BMW is recalling an undisclosed number of 325i, 325Xi, 330i and 330Xi models from the 2001 through 2005 model years and the 2001-2006 model year versions of the 325Ci and 330Ci for the driver side and passenger side inflators. Only vehicles currently registered in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands are covered under this recall.
Neither Chrysler's filing with NHTSA nor its press release list the specific models affected, but a company spokesperson told Autoblog that at this time it only covers the driver and passenger side inflators for the 2006 Dodge Charger in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands
Ford partnering with MIT, Stanford on autonomous vehicle research
Fri, 24 Jan 2014Ask any car engineer what's the biggest variable in achieving fuel economy targets, and he'll tell you "the driver." If one human can't understand human driving behavior enough to be certain about an innocuous number like miles per gallon, how is an autonomous car supposed to figure out what hundreds of other drivers are going to do in the course of a day? Ford has enlisted the help of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find out.
Starting with the automated Fusion Hybrid introduced in December, MIT will be developing algorithms that driverless cars can use to "predict actions of other vehicles and pedestrians" and objects within the three-dimensional map provided by its four LIDAR sensors.
The Stanford team will research how to extend the 'vision' of that LIDAR array beyond obstructions while driving, analogous to the way a driver uses the entire width of a lane to see what's ahead of a larger vehicle in front. Ford says it wants to "provide the vehicle with common sense" as part of its Blueprint for Mobility, preparing for an autonomous world from 2025 and beyond.
'Born of a Blue Sky' brings the Amelia Island Concours to you
Fri, 03 May 2013The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance has more clout every year and is getting a reputation as Pebble Beach minus the madness. Held in March this year, it celebrated Ducati and the 50-year anniversaries of Lamborghini, the Corvette Sting Ray, Porsche 911 and the Ford GT40.
Justin Lapriore was there, and seemingly everywhere, getting footage of the various wares on display on the lawns and the sand and the runway. The resulting video, Born of a Blue Sky, is a 16-minute survey of some of the finer sights and plenty of engine sounds. Check it out below.
