First.  I am listing this vehicle for my Father, who does not have any computer experience.  His contact info will be below so that you can contact him with any questions or picture requests.  I own a full service Automotive Repair shop and also do complete restorations, over 40 to date.  If the high bidder wishes I can complete a full or partial restoration on this vehicle prior to shipping it.  My rates are half of the industry Standard, we rely on lots of work vs. high prices and less work.  The shop is Vader Automotive Repair, located in Vader Washington and of course we are licensed (City, State and Fed.) and insured (upto 2M per incident).

This Auction is for a 1929 Model A 2 door Sedan, body model = 55A, Serial number is 1910457, it was built in mid July of 1929 and sold for $490.00 New...  You wont get it for that today:).  This is a GREAT car and is almost all original.  The only aftermarket item that comes to mind is a zineth carb that was put on it.  It has a 4 cyl, that was advertised to have 40 HP.  The running gear, transmission, engine, and interior are all original.  The Interior is ruff but usable and is all complete, so easy to restore.  All the gages are original and work as do all the lights.  The car has 72712 miles on it as it sits right now.  It has always been stored inside and for the last 10 years or so it has been stored inside an airplane hanger at the Klawock City Airport on Prince Of Whales Island in SE Alaska.  The car is being sold "delivered to Seattle".   So buyer will have to arrange shipping from there to where ever home is.  Before making the trip up to SE Alaska the car made Oregon its home.  It was bought new by a guy in Springfield Oregon and for close to 30 years (prior to my fathers purchase) was stored in his auto repair shop when it was not chasing parts.  In the last 10 years it has only collected a few miles a year, My father drives it in the parade a couple times a year and takes a cruise or two during the summer months.  The rest of the time it sits next to his 1959 Piper PA-24-180, which is an awsome plane with a ton done to it and also for sale.  Back to the 1929 Model A.  It runs and drives great and starts easy, it is all original with the following being new or after market.  It has a Zeineth Carborator, all new glass and the window cranks have all been replaced with new after market ones.  The upolstry is ruff but all Original, All the insterments and gages work good and are readable.  It has no E-Brake, some where along the line it was taken off.  It is still wearing the 1929 Oregon license plate tghat was issued to it, and comes with the original Ford Model A book.  If you have any questions please call Roger at (907) 723-3400 and he can answer them.  The title is clear and ready to be transfered as soon as it is located, seller (once reserve is meet) will arrange and pay the cost of shipping to Seattle Washington.  Buyer must take deliver there unless otherwise arranged.  Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs past Seattle.  I will sell to overseas buyers and can assist in arranging shipping out of the country..  There are not many of these babys left and very very few in this good of original condition, this is a great restoration project.

Americans will get a four-cylinder Ford Mustang after all? [w/poll]

Sat, 09 Mar 2013

Ask and you shall receive. Remember that previous report suggesting that the 2015 Ford Mustang getting a four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, and that it would be sold in Europe only and not the United States? Well, according to Road & Track, the rumor is only partially true - The Mustang will get the engine, but it is indeed coming to America.
Additionally, according to RT, the 3.7-liter V6 will continue to serve as the base engine, and since it offers up a stout 305 horsepower in its current form, it's likely that the 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost will produce a bit more than that. At the top of the range, the Mustang GT will continue to soldier on with a V8 engine, which should continue to send over 400 horsepower to the rear wheels.
Finally, while we agree 100 percent with RT's heartfelt request for a paddle-shift automatic, we certainly expect that the EcoBoost 'Stang will be offered with a manual transmission as standard equipment. This is a Mustang, after all...

Pickup prices rising at 2x industry average

Tue, 11 Jun 2013

We've said it before, but bears repeating: Pickup trucks are the financial engines of America's automakers. Good thing, then, that the segment is in rude health - in fact, Automotive News is suggesting that pickup truck sales are arguably healthier than they were pre-recession, even though the segment's volume is still significantly down from where it was before the bottom fell out of the US economy. That's because per-unit profits on full-size trucks are skyrocketing, outpacing the industry's average price increases by more than double since 2005. According to data from Edmunds, the average transaction price of a full-size pickup is now $39,915 - a heady increase over the $31,059 average price in 2005 - a gain of over 8 percent after inflation is factored in.
Just how important are trucks to automakers' bottom lines? Automotive News quotes a Morgan Stanley analyst as saying the Ford F-Series is responsible for 90 percent of the company's 2012 profits, and General Motors isn't far behind, with the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra twins chipping in about two-thirds of the automaker's earnings.
Automotive News points out that Detroit's automakers now have the money to invest in modernizing their full-size truck offerings, in part because they don't have the same overhead and legacy costs that pushed General Motors and Chrysler into bankruptcy. Certainly, the pickup segment has seen a lot of innovations as of late, including turbocharged V6s, coil-spring rear suspensions and active aero. Those improvements in important areas like fuel economy and ride comfort have given existing pickup buyers new reasons to upgrade. In addition, automakers are piling on the tech and luxury goodies, creating more and more high-content, high-profit models like the Ford F-150 King Ranch, Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn and Chevrolet Silverado High Country (shown).

Social media star Scott Monty leaves Ford

Thu, 22 May 2014

It seems weird to think that an automaker could have a social media star, but Ford does. Or at least it did. Scott Monty, its Global Digital Communications Manager, led the company's team for almost six years and forged a reputation as being one of the most talented people in corporate social media. But the guru recently announced that he would be leaving the automaker for an undisclosed job elsewhere.
"I just decided the time was right. I am going to take a little time with my family, and I am going to start on a new adventure pretty soon," said Monty in an interview with AdWeek. He also explained a little about his theory of how companies should use social media. In his opinion, it should be a chance to go beyond standard marketing and build a relationship with people. Businesses need to have a broad focus for its online message, and using just one service isn't enough to be successful.
Under his guidance, Ford expanded its Facebook presence significantly. According to AdWeek, it launched the 2010 Explorer on the popular site. Also, when the company wanted to investigate selling electric models, it initially gauged the public's reaction on Facebook and then advertised them there first. Monty has been a major supporter of Twitter as well to broaden the company's communication with the public.
