1962 Ford F100 Rat Rod

Up for auction is a 1962 Ford F100 short box 2wd rat rod street truck

This truck started life as a commercial F350 cab now mounted on an early to mid 60's F100 frame with a 65 F100 short box.

Registered with a  clear Ontario title as a 62 F100.

Driveline is a late model fox body 5.0 fuel injected with an automatic with O/D transmission.

- Engine late 80's 5.0 fresh rebuild, cam, stock heads flowed, roller rockers, headers with 3 inch S/S exhaust to X pipe and 2 1/2 mac dumps at the rear end.  MSD ignition, Holly intake, BBK cold air intake, mass air, and 70 mm BBK throttle body

- Trans has a mild shift kit, B&M shifter, and O/D

- 8.8 rear end, posi, with 410's

Truck is a good driver,  power steering, and brakes.  This is a basic bad ass street truck. Still needs some finishing, or just drive it as is.  Has disks front and drums rear.  IFS vis welded in fox body K-member.  Drives straight and true.  No bump steer.  Stops great, new front brakes.  Basically the entire drive train was from a mustang.  Very loud and low to the ground.  Has small C notch in the rear frame with helper air bags.  No compressor just a tank with a 2 way valve.  Has a new 1970 mustang fuel tank and sending unit.  Still needs a fuel gauge.  Has autometer gauages, including a monster tack with shift light.  Front seat is from a ford falcon and is in great shape.

All the hard work is done and ready to enjoy.

Ford picks Fiesta ST, Transit Connect as this year's SEMA darlings

Sat, 02 Feb 2013

SEMA is more than nine months away, but the reveille bugle for the show has just sounded with Ford's call to aftermarket companies for its project-vehicle program. The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST and 2014 Transit Connect van and wagon are the cars The Blue Oval wants to feature, but applicants can submit project vehicles for any product except the GT500, the Raptor, or anything from Lincoln.
Submissions must be completed in two parts, the first being an email to Ford with an overview of the project, like vehicle theme, promotional plan and location display. The second part must be mailed in on company letterhead and gets down to the nuts and bolts of the vision and the provision of company bona fides. The complete proposal is due on March 1, winners will be notified by May 1. Click the link below to get all the details, and for show attendees, get ready to see some funky Fiestas and wild shaggin' wagons in Las Vegas come November.

Fewest vehicles ever found eligible for Most American survey

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Once again, the most American car on the market is from an American brand. The Ford F-150 retained its number one spot in Cars.com's annual survey of the most American vehicles, trumping the Toyota Camry, which remains at number two.
Ford taking the top spot is small consolation, though, as the Detroit Three aren't too well represented here. General Motors scored a win at number seven, with the Chevrolet Corvette, while Chrysler squeaked in at number ten, with the Dodge Viper. Outside of those three vehicles, Toyota and Honda dominate the top ten.
What's most remarkable, though, is that there were so few cars available for this year's list.

Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.
