2003 Ford Expedition on 2040-cars
Lehigh Acres, Florida, United States
We have just received this '03 Ford Expedition two wheel drive into our inventory that is in remarkable condition. This one owner beauty looks awesome inside and out, and has definitely been shown plenty of TLC over the past 8 years. The previous nonsmoking owner definitely took amazing care of this vehicle. The 5.4L Triton V8 engine produces plenty of power, and an incredibly smooth ride. I had the opportunity to drive this SUV, and it rides straight down the road with no pulling, vibrating, or hesitating. The BF Goodrich 265/70/17 tires are in good shape, and have plenty of tread left on them for the trip back home. The 2- tone maroon and champagne exterior still has a beautiful shine, and the original body panels are free from any dents, dings, or signs of rust. There are no signs of any previous paint or body repairs whatsoever to this vehicle. The outside features combination entry, privacy glass, luggage rack, running boards, color-keyed front and rear bumpers, and alloy wheels. The spacious interior of this 4-door features tan leather that is wonderfully accented with brushed aluminum trim. The upholstery is free from any tears, burns, or visible stains. This Ford features a rear lift gate hatch and power collapsible 3rd row seating for all of that extra cargo. The power rear seats can be lifted back up in just seconds to create comfortable spaces for a total of at least 7 people. Some of the interior amenities include extra power outlets, center and overhead consoles, digital display info center, steering wheel controls!!!!

Ford recalls 83k Taurus and crossover models for halfshaft issue
Fri, 15 Aug 2014Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued a recall for some 83,250 vehicles in the US, for an issue with halfshafts. More specifically a "halfshaft retention circlip" might not have been properly installed on affected vehicles, with the result being halfshafts that may move improperly or disengage completely from the linkshaft while driving. The NHTSA release also notes that the issue may occur "without prior warning" which obviously factors in to the timeliness of getting this checked.
Should the halfshaft disengage, a few troubling things could happen. If it occurs while driving, power from the engine will no longer be transmitted to the wheels. And, if the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied after disengagement of the circlip, vehicles may roll away even if they're transmissions have been placed in "Park."
Affected vehicles are as follows: Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers from model years 2012 to 2014; Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS sedans from model years 2013 to 2014; Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles from model years 2013 to 2014.
XCAR stages epic drag race between Ford GT40, GT70 and GT
Mon, 19 Aug 2013XCAR has put together what it believes is a first - a drag race between Ford's legendary, Le Mans-winning GT40, the more recent GT supercar it inspired and the little-known GT70 rally car. The three mid-engined monsters were all built for very different purposes, and not surprisingly, they come to battle with very different powertrains.
The GT40 is powered by a thumping, naturally aspirated V8. This example, which looks like a Mark IV model, is likely powered by a 7.0-liter engine, although it's not entirely clear how much power it's putting down. The GT70, meanwhile, was Ford's response to the Lancia Stratos. Considering that the Lancia is one of the greatest rally cars in history and many of you are probably just hearing of the GT70 for the first time, you can imagine how much success Ford had with it. Only six were produced before a change in regulations doomed this mid-engined rally car.
The Ford GT, meanwhile, doesn't really need an introduction. 550 horsepower is on offer from a 5.4-liter, supercharged V8, which keeps the GT competitive even against more modern supercars. 60 miles per hour arrives in well under four seconds while the top speed sits at 212 mph. Not bad for a car that went out of production in 2006.
Mulally confirms he's not leaving Ford for Microsoft
Tue, 07 Jan 2014In recent months, rumors had been flying about Ford CEO Alan Mulally potentially leaving the company to take a position at Microsoft. Last we heard, Mulally was planning to stick around at Ford through at least 2014, and in an interview today, that bit was confirmed by the CEO himself.
According to the Associated Press, in a report from The Detroit News, Mulally said he will not be leaving Ford for Microsoft, and reiterated that he will remain at the Blue Oval through 2014, if not longer. Mulally has "no plans other than to serve Ford," according to the report.
Mulally did not say whether or not he had been in talks with Microsoft at any point. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said he plans to leave the software company sometime this year.
