1977 Early Ford Bronco on 2040-cars

Year:1977 Mileage:75000

Up for auction is a beautiful
77 Ford Bronco. As some of you may know, this is the last
year of production of the best Bronco ever made. I purchased
this new in 77. I had a lot of fun in it for a good many
years before selling it to a friend of mine.  My buddy
drove it for a while then parked it.  It then became yard
art for far too long. I was finally able to talk him into
selling it back to me so I could fix it up and give to my
son.  I spared no expense on this build. If it needed it, I
purchased it! I wanted my son to know what it was like to
drive an ‘Old School’ Bronco. Plus I wanted it to be
safe and reliable. I spent around 10K on body and paint
alone. The interior is new, the tires and wheels are new,
the brakes are new. 90+% of this Bronco has been redone.  I
had the Bronco built as close to stock as I could for the
dependability part. The engine was rebuilt and all smog
equipment put back in its proper place. This truck will have
no problems passing smog. I have a long list of parts that I
purchased for the Bronco (see list below) as the building
process was going on. My son is heading off to college, and
will be driving a lot more, so I am selling the Bronco to
buy a more fuel efficient car.  This Bronco will give you
many years of great dependability and joy. Plus it will also
give the opportunity to put your own style into it as you
 see fit.

 The Bronco has
about 75,000 original miles, and the new rebuilt of the ORIGINAL
 block has about 4,000 miles.

I have misplaced the receipt for the engine build for the amount of $3,000.00 +

This Bronco came with these options:

Power Steering

Power Brakes, including Disc Front and Big Bearing with Big Drum Brake in the beak.

C4 Automatic transmission.

Exceptionally rare '65 Ford GT40 Roadster prototype up for auction

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

Think of mid-engined supercars and your mind is bound to gravitate towards Europe, but the United States has been known to make a handful from time to time - exceptional vehicles from the likes of Vector, SSC, Mosler, Hennessey, and Saleen. But long before any of those came around, Ford famously became obsessed with beating Ferrari at its own game, leading to the development of the iconic GT40.
The story is well known, sending Ford to the checkered flag at Le Mans four times in a row in the late 1960s. Ford and Shelby also built over 100 for public consumption, but just four of them were roadsters. Of those only one remains in original condition, and now that exceedingly rare example going up for auction.
Consigned to RM Auctions for its mid-August sale during Pebble Beach weekend in Monterey, California, this 1965 model is the first GT40 Roadster built. It was used as a development and demonstration vehicle for Ford and Shelby. Carroll Shelby himself drove Henry Ford II in this very car during one of many test and demo events, this time held for Ford's board of directors in Los Angeles.

The big dune jump and the damage done

Mon, 20 May 2013

The Silver Lake sand dunes see their fair share of well-built trophy trucks executing impressive jumps. Drivers build insane pieces of machinery for the express purpose of sailing through the air like mad men and women.
Mike Higgins is no stranger to the area. His heavily modified Ford trophy truck has gone flying through the sky on more than one occasion, but he recently bit off more than he could chew. After hitting a particularly lofty dune, Higgins went airborne for a ridiculous 180 feet before becoming intimately familiar with the finer points of gravity.
While Higgins nailed the jump, his landing fell short of wowing the judges. The impact very nearly broke his truck in two. Despite the mechanical mayhem, the driver walked away without a scratch, proving that occasionally miracles really do happen. You can check out the jump and the subsequent destruction below for yourself. Be warned: there's a fair bit of foul language.

Ford reflects on radical Mustang concept that never reached showrooms

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

The Ford Mustang that we all know and love made major waves in the auto industry way back in 1964 by offering style and reasonable pricing with optional V8 power. Its long hood and short rear deck, combined with a low-slung and sporty cockpit, made a lasting impression in the minds of consumers and car designers alike, and its basic shape has so endured the test of time that it's still in use today.
This being the case, you may be interested to know that the first Mustang of 1964.5 wasn't actually the first Mustang at all, being preceded by a concept car that made its public debut in 1962. This concept was nothing like the car that would eventually make it into production, with a radical wedge shape and a small V4 engine sitting behind the car's two occupants, driving the rear wheels. In other words, the conceptual Mustang was pretty much the complete opposite of the production Mustang besides the name.
Ford has kindly decided go through its massive archive to bring the original Mustang concept back into the public eye. The company goes so far as to pose this question to fans of the pony car: "Should we borrow a few of these style elements for the next iteration of the Mustang?" Check out our image gallery above and then let 'em know what you think in the Comments below.
