Rust Free, unmolested Mustang Cobra.  I am the second owner of this car which I bought about 11 years ago.  The car originally came from California to Utah in 2003 and I bought it with 13000 miles on it.  I drove the car for two summers and then took a job in Japan that ended up lasting 8 years.  The entire time the car had been in storage in Utah, it has never seen snow or salt and held up very well in storage. I had greased all the seams in the car prior to putting it in storage which you can see in some of the pictures. It roughly had 16,700 miles on it when I took it out of storage two months ago.  I have had the clutch, brakes and all the fluids serviced by a Ford dealership in the last month and have put a new set of Michelin tires all the way around.  While in storage I came back every year and changed the oil and ran the car for a few hours.  To date the car has just over 18,000 original miles and has just made the trip from Utah to Colorado.  The paint on the car is all original to the best of my knowledge, I did talk to the original owner who said the car had never been wrecked and I ran a car fax as well and it came back with no accidents.  As nice as the car is please understand that it is not a perfect show car it does have some paint blemishes and a ding in the drivers fender that is hard to see but its there.  The pictures of the car are current and had been taken 6 September 2014.

On the inside it has the black leather, power seats that are not perfect but are still supple and soft and are not ripped or cracked but does show some stress lines that you can see in the pictures.  I conditioned the leather every year while in storage to keep them as nice as possible.

The drive-line on the car is tight and smooth and has no leaks of any kind.  Still feels like a new car......

This is a great car that I am only selling because it no longer fits my family as I now have 4 kids, but it would be a great candidate for restoration or just to enjoy as it is.

Please be advised that I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the car is for sale locally in Colorado as well and if the car sells through auction the winning bidder will be responsible for shipment arrangements and costs.  This is a no reserve auction highest bid will take it if it does not sell locally first.

LaFerrari racing prototype spotted in Southern Europe

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

Rumors have been circulating for a few months now that Ferrari could be gearing up to challenge for outright victory at Le Mans once again with an LMP1 racer of its own. First the head of the sports racing division hinted at the prospect, then the head of the Formula One team lent it more credence, and most recently, the chairman of the company itself confirmed the possibility. We've even heard some rumors over who could drive the thing. But what we haven't seen yet is any solid proof that the Prancing Horse marque has actually been working on such a racecar.
That could be what we're looking at it here, but then again, it might not be. Spied undergoing testing in Southern Europe, this camouflaged test mule appears to be based on the new LaFerrari supercar, but with some key modifications that indicate this isn't the road-going version. The revised aero is a dead giveaway, with that giant front splitter jutting out like a swollen lip and a massive rear wing protruding from the back. The headlights are different, it's got center-lock wheels fitted at each corner and there's a big snorkel air scoop protruding from the engine bay.
What's clear is that this is test mule has definitely been set up for the race track. The only question is, to what end? Even with all the add-ons, it's still nowhere near as extreme as the purpose-built prototypes that Audi, Toyota and Porsche will be fielding in the FIA World Endurance Championship this year, and it's missing key features like the mandatory center tailfin. It could be a platform for testing components to use on an upcoming LMP1, but if not for the aforementioned Le Mans rumors, our money would have been on something else - be it a GT racing version of LaFerrari like Maserati did with the Enzo-based MC12, or a customer track toy to follow in the footsteps of the (also Enzo-based) FXX and the 599XX that followed.

BMW hires Ferrari chief engineer Fedeli

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

There's going to be a little bit more Prancing Horse in some future BMWs because the Bavarian brand is hiring Ferrari chief engineer Roberto Fedeli to join the company in November. Fedeli's new position is still somewhat of a mystery though, and he reportedly might be lending his talents to the high performance M division or possibly even Rolls-Royce. When asked by Automotive News Europe, BMW said that it "currently can't say what his role will be."
Regardless of his new job, Fedeli was a big get for BMW because of his strong résumé. He has been with Ferrari since 1988 and led the engineering for the famous Italian automaker's vehicles since 2007. Fedeli tendered his resignation in September at around the same time that chairman Luca di Montezemolo announced his decision to leave the company. However, Ferrari told ANE that there was no connection between the two events.

Ferrari 250 GTO may have set new sale record at $52M

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

Records are made to be broken, and it seems that one may have just been snapped again. An Italian website is reporting that a Ferrari 250 GTO, owned by American collector Paul Pappalardo, recently sold for $52 million.
Now, this is far from confirmed - Pappalardo responded to questions about the sale saying, "I do not confirm these things, I have no comment about!" - and if it's a private sale, it's unlikely that we'll ever know the exact amount of the transaction. If that figure is correct, though, it easily eclipses the $35 million made in a 250 GTO sale in April of 2012, as well as the $27.5-million sale of a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Spider sold at RM's Monterey auctions in August.
What makes a car that had 39 examples built more valuable than one that had only 10 units produced? Racing pedigree. The 250 GTO is a racing legend, with each car having a unique provenance that is more than enough to add some serious value. According to 0-100.it, the GTO in question, 5111GT, found its first owner in French racer and winner of the 1964 24 Hours of Le Mans, Jean Guichet, back in 1963. The Frenchman used the V12-powered racer to win the GT category of the Tour de France Automobile in that same year.
