Redding, California, United States
1970 Dodge Charger R/T Special Edition This is your opportunity to own the hallmark of American muscle cars. Our car is 1970 Dodge Charger RT/SE. This stunning car is original in almost every way. This is a matching numbers car with a 440 cubic inch engine and stock torqueflite transmission. The vehicle was originally sold new on 09/23/1969 by McCarty Motors in Savannah, Mo. We are the third owners of the vehicle. We have the original buyers order and Chrysler Corp. broadcast and build sheets. We also have several others documents showing the vehicles history including the Chrysler warranty and original owners manual. The vehicle was originally ordered with air conditioning delete and hood tie down pins. The car is B-5 Blue Fire Metallic with matching blue interior. This Charger is matching numbers and has less than 95,000 original miles. The engine was rebuilt approximately 5 years ago and rear end was rebuilt in 2013. The paint has some minor imperfections but overall the car shows very well. The VIN plate is unmolested and the driver's side VIN decal and fender tag are in place. All gauges work but the clock and factory 8 track radio player are inoperable. The vehicle starts easily and the brakes work. I possess a clean California title for this vehicle. Dodge not being dropped by Chrysler, CEO reaffirms
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Dodge isn't going anywhere. Despite some rumor and speculation over the future of the crosshair grille and the cars that wear it, Dodge brand boss, Tim Kuniskis, sat down with TheDetroitBureau.com, explaining that the marque isn't going anywhere. His sentiments echo those of SRT boss Ralph Gilles, who told a group of enthusiasts in July that "Dodge is here to stay!"
Dodge's death won't be "a part of a master plan to consolidate brands," Kuniskis told TheDetroitBureau.com. Instead, the brand, which is ultimately under the command of Fiat/Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne, will likely ditch some of its badge-engineered models, like the Dodge Grand Caravan. A more focused Dodge, which was something Gilles has already hinted at, will likely see it exploring areas of the market that haven't been exploited by other Chrysler brands.
Kuniskis, not surprisingly, wasn't willing to delve into any detailed product plans, telling TDB that the size of the brand's lineup "remains to be seen." Regardless of how big the brand actually ends up being (it is presently Chrysler's volume brand - and not by a little), hopefully the statements from Kuniskiss can put the rumors of a Dodge closure to bed.
Old vs. New: 2014 SRT Viper takes on upgraded 16-year-old Dodge Viper
Fri, 08 Feb 2013It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands.
Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.
2013 Dodge Challenger V6 recalled for fire risk, owners asked not to drive
Sun, 17 Mar 2013Chrysler has issued a recall for the V6 version of the 2013 Dodge Challenger (as pictured above in 2012MY) over the possibility of a wiring harness that could short circuit and lead to a fire. Owners of these V6 Challengers built from November 2012 through January 2013 are being urged to contact dealers immediately and, in the meantime, not to drive their cars or park in or near any buildings.
Chrysler estimates around 2,500 potentially affected Challengers are in owners' hands, while another 1,900 are still sitting on dealer lots. The total number of recalled vehicles is 4,459.
So far, Chrysler says that seven fires have been reported - none resulting in injuries. The company is instructing vehicle owners to contact their dealer to find out if their vehicle is included in the recall, but owners can also find the build date information of their vehicle by checking the label in the driver's door jamb.
