Up for sale is a custom 2 door 1955 Chevy Wagon street rod I bought out of southern California.

This car was built for Audiobahn to showcase their stereo equipment at car shows and the body on restored car looks amazing! It was featured in magazines and I have one that will sell with the car. Featured are Audiobahn 18 inch subs with ten speakers total. In the back are three amps powering the speakers and there is a new Kenwood KDC 448U tuner.

A lot of subtle changes have been made during the build process (note the quarter windows are taken out). I was told the paint and body work was $15,000.00 and I have no reason to doubt that. Time was taken making the body seams align properly. The chrome and stainless look perfect with no patina. All the rubber looks new, no rattles and the doors close better than any car I've owned. There is a patch panel on the driver side floor board, otherwise it is rust free under the car.

My wagon rolls on Colorado Customs 18" rims with BF Goodrich 245-40-18 tires in great condition. The car has been lowered giving it just that right stance. Colorado Customs also built a matching steering wheel mated to an ididit steering column.

You'll have power rack and pinion steering, power disc brakes and power windows. The interior is black leather. A B&M shifter shifts the 350 turbo trans that is mated to a 350 engine that is well dressed with polished intake, new Holley carb, polished alternator and a polished air conditioner compressor (not hooked up). March serpentine belt and pulleys turn the accessories.

An aluminum radiator with electric fan keep the car cool with no problems over heating.

The ride is very smooth, stops great with the disc brakes and the motor runs strong.

I have the car insured for $40,000.00 and it's worth it. Buy this one at a fraction of what it's worth. I'm not looking to trade. I can no longer drive to car shows and the car is just sitting in the garage.

You can reach me at 256-446-9646 or 256-412-3824. I will help in loading the car or maybe meet you half way if it's not too far.

I would seriously consider enclosed transport.....the car is that nice!

Bid with confidence. The car is exactly as listed. Draw a crowd wherever you stop. If you buy the car you will not be dissapointed.

The turn signals haven't been hooked up after the steering column was installed. I've had 2 neck surgeries and can't get under the dash to hook it up. Sorry this wasn't in the original listing.

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
