1985 Buick Riviera with an outstanding 64k original miles. Powered by a smooth running 5.0 litre V8 engine, which makes for a very nice cruiser. Has clean title, car is all original, never been hacked up, modified, or wrecked, still has factory stereo. Drives likes new, quiet engine (can hardly tell its on from inside car), a/c works perfect and transmission shifts smoothly (no leaks at all). Chrome/aluminum in excellent, near perfect shape (this means bumpers, hubcaps, and all trim), body has no dings or dents. Taillights are in great shape with no cracks and nice shine. Paint is also in great shape with nice gleam as well (was repainted a few years ago, minor scuffs here and there but hardly noticeable). Interior is awesome and seats look brand new (no rips, literally are in excellent shape as well as seat-belts), has new visors and headliner. Half vinyl top has no damage or tears other then regular wear. No heavy rust whatsoever, car has been garaged most of its life and kept out of harsh environments. Brakes are in excellent working condition, cruise control works no problem. Car rides super smooth and has a comfortable ride that you can only get from a classic like this. Tires in decent shape and seats up to 6. Also have original drivers manual and Chilton manual included as well. Please bid with confidence as my feedback is 100%, thanks for looking and happy bidding.

Buick might be getting a logo makeover

Fri, 23 Nov 2012

General Motors has finished off an extensive model overhaul for its Buick division, but along with its updated cars, the brand might also be getting a new logo. According to the Detroit Free Press, GM North America President Mark Reuss indicated that the Buick tri-shield logo could be getting a makeover, but offered no further information.
It is unlikely Buick will completely redesign or replace its current logo, but the article seems to indicate that it might return to color; although all chrome now, the logo used to feature red, white and blue shields. Head on over to the Detroit Free Press article to look at some past Buick logos including one from 1904.

The importance of Angel Eyes, Ventiports and four round taillights

Sun, 01 Sep 2013

Just the other day, we told you about how Lincoln isn't really a luxury brand, according to Ford's head design man, J Mays. His argument was that Lincoln lacked the unique DNA to differentiate it from the rest of the market, although the arrival of the MKZ is beginning to change that. Now, we have this video from Autoline Detroit, where Jim Hall, an analyst for 2953 Analytics who was quoted in yesterday's Lincoln story, explains the influence of certain styling cues and how they impact the brands.
Using BMW (Angel Eyes) and Buick (Ventiports) as examples for small, simple touches that serve to distinguish the brand's vehicles on the road, Hall then points out how changing trademark styling features, as Chevrolet has done on the new Corvette Stingray, can hurt the vehicle's public perception. Take a look at the full video below for an interesting dive into what these styling features mean to their individual brands.

Consumer Reports says infotainment systems 'growing first-year reliability plague'

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

The Consumer Reports Annual Auto Reliability Survey (right) is out, and the top two spots look much the same as last year's list with Lexus and Toyota in first and second place, respectively. However, there are some major shakeups for 2014, with Acura plunging eight spots from third in 2013 to 11th this year, and Mazda replaces it on the lowest step of the podium. Honda and Audi round out the top five. This year's list includes six Japanese brands in the top 10, two Europeans, one America and one Korean.
Acura isn't the only one taking a tumble, though. Infiniti is the biggest loser this year by dropping 14 spots to 20th place. Other big losses come from Mercedes-Benz with an 11-place fall to 24th, and GMC, which declines 10 positions to 19th.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it's not traditional mechanical bugs hauling down these automaker's reliability scores. Instead, pesky problems with infotainment systems are taking a series toll on the rankings. According to Consumer Reports, complaints about "in-car electronics" were the most grumbled about element in new cars. Problem areas included things like unresponsive touchscreens, issues pairing phones and multi-use controllers that refused to work right.
