2001 330ci, 5 Speed, 90k Miles, Excellent, Great Maintenance & Upgrades on 2040-cars
Wilmington, North Carolina, United States
I bought this 330ci at 75K miles. I have invested significantly in maintenance and upgrades. Consolidating this car and a pickup into a new 328d Sports Wagon. All systems work per factory specs. New valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket and oil pan gasket. New water pump. Meyle HD control arms. Stoptech drilled & slotted disks, stainless brake lines, powder coated calipers, & new pads. New Koni Orange struts. Replaced rear wheel bearing. Replaced door gaskets, recovered interior pillars, and head liner. Replaced all speakers except rear doors (fronts upgraded to BAV Audio). Two keys + valet key. Owners manual. Glove box flashlight. Full trunk tool kit, full spare, & trunk mat. Normal wear on drivers side seat, all leather otherwise excellent. Very light damage from tree branch professionally repaired by Parkers Collision in Wilmington, NC, hood and right front QP reshot. Michelins, front ~70% rear ~85%. Pick up only in Wilmington, NC. This is a great 330ci example, very quick and exciting to drive, but gets near 30 MPG on the highway.

BMW X1 testing is underway
Thu, 10 Oct 2013It was just a few weeks ago that we got our first glimpse of the next-generation BMW X1, riding around on a flatbed. Now, we have the first batch of images of the small crossover moving under its own steam.
Like the previous round of photos, BMW's psychedelic camouflage is on hand to obscure sheetmetal details, but our intrepid spies still managed to discover a bit about the new X1. It's internal code-name will be F48, and it will sit on the same platform as the next-generation Mini and the BMW 1 Series GT. And for those keeping track at home, those are both front-drive platforms.
The reasoning for the X1's new layout, though, is understandable. Front-wheel drive is more space efficient and affordable, which are kind of big deals to customers. The next X1 won't be limited to its front wheels, though, as BMW's xDrive system is almost a certainty on higher-end trims.
BMW releases complete pricing info on M3 and M4
Mon, 31 Mar 2014When BMW unveiled the M3 and M4 at the Detroit Auto Show back in January, we told you that the new sportsters were starting at $62,000 and $64,200, respectively. That leaked info, though, only told a small part of the story for the new M cars. Now, we have the complete pricing sheet on the new coupe and sedan, direct from BMW.
The pricing intel that we had at the time was correct - prices start at $62,000 for four doors and $64,200 for two. Those prices don't include the $925 destination charge. Potential customers should also plan on spending an extra $550, as seven of the eight paint options are of the metallic variety. BMW's trademark Alpine White is the only no-cost paint option.
As for the cabin, customers will, interestingly, have the choice of a cloth/leather combination as standard. That's in addition to the standard suite of leather options. There are also extended leather and full leather options, for $950 and $3,500, respectively. There are three option packages available, covering all the extra goodies for the M3 and M4.
BMW X4 M probably not in the cards
Thu, 26 Sep 2013BMW is preparing to exploit its latest market niche - those that find themselves unable to choose between the 3 Series, 4 Series and X3 - with the X4. If you're looking for an M product, though, you'll remain limited to the 3 and 4 Series. BMW's Bernhard Ederer, at the Australian launch of the X5, told Car Advice he wouldn't "bet on it," when asked about a hotter X4.
Oddly, Ederer's reasoning, according to the Aussies, is out of concern for the X6 M, whose sales the X4 M would apparently cannibalize. That's like saying the M3 doesn't make sense because it will cannibalize M5 sales - the logic just doesn't really hold up. "The question is what customers are we talking to? And are we talking to someone that is willing and able to afford [an X6 M]?" Ederer told Car Advice.
Car Advice seems to feel the same way, claiming the X3-based X4 will share its powertrains with its donor platform, and will eventually spawn an M variant, albeit a few years down the line.
