THIS LISTING IS FOR LOCAL (Orlando, FL)  PERSON-to-PERSON SALE ONLY. GIVE ME A CALL TO SETUP AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE THE CAR. THANK YOU!

Hello! Up for sale a 2006 VW Passat, 2.0L turbo engine with kind of rare 6-speed manual gearbox. I bought this car in December of 2011 with ~82k miles. I'm the third owner. The car is in great condition.

What was replaced:

- Brake pads
- Brake rotors
- Spark plugs
- Ignition coils
- Timing belt, water pump and teasioner (@86k miles)
- Diverter valve (newer "D" version)
- Wastegate frequency contron valve N75
- Cam follower (common 2.0T engine problem)
- Coolant temperature Sensor (G62)
- Battery (@95k miles)
- Cabin and air filters
- Left and right axles (with wheel alignment)
- A/C compressor

I have all service papers and reciepts.
I did the oil changes every 5-6K miles and always used synthetic "Pentosin" 5w40 German oil, which specifically designed for german cars.

Also a few upgrades:

- OEM 17" rims (from passat cc)
- Tinted windows
- European cup holder
- European light switch, window switch and mirror switch
- Fog lights
- Low beam XENON lights (6000k color)
- Every bulb was changed to LED (dome light, footwell with red led's, rear seat light, trunk and licence plate). Very cool at night.
- Rear view camera
- 7" touch screen music player, S100 model. It has everything you need from a multimedia device, such as: navigation, USB devices support (memory sticks, hard drive etc.), slot for microSD cards, AUX for 3.5mm cable, iphone/android blutooth audio steaming and phone calling, video playback (any format), file manager, games... feature list is really endless. It's like having a computer in a car, very practicle.

So whatever was bad was replaced, major service is done. Car is ready to go. The reason i'm selling it because I want to buy a newer car. Price is 7500 (obo)

Jack Kevorkian's old van up for sale in Detroit [w/video]

Tue, Aug 25 2015

With Halloween fast approaching, a Detroit pawnshop is offering a macabre automotive memento to park in your garage – Dr. Jack Kevorkian's Volkswagen Bus (pictured above in 1990). The van is currently a broken-down heap with the interior a mess, but the title and registration proves Dr. Kevorkian's ownership. The pawnbroker is hoping to get $40,000 for the ghoulish ride, according to an interview with Fox 2 News. If you're unfamiliar, Dr. Kevorkian rose to prominence in the '90s when he helped with 130 assisted suicides. It earned him the nickname Dr. Death, and he was eventually convicted of second-degree murder in 1999, serving eight years in prison. He died in 2011. Kevorkian's VW has had quite a history. The van was reportedly due to be destroyed in 1997 but somehow avoided the crusher. A retired VW parts dealer put the bus on eBay in 2010, but the vehicle was removed for violating the site's policy against selling "murderabilia." The VW eventually went to auction, but this report said that it hasn't moved in over two years. The video below shows the decrepit vehicle currently, and the gallery above has period photos from the Associated Press. This content is hosted by a third party. VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.

Recharge Wrap-up: New Mitsubishi Evo PHEV, Amsterdam buses go all electric by 2025

Thu, Apr 30 2015

Mitsubishi hopes to launch a new vehicle badged as the Evo based on the Concept XR-PHEV II. Mitsubishi President and COO Tetsuro Aikawa tells Autocar the new vehicle will share characteristics with the outgoing Lancer Evolution loved by enthusiasts, but will feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain in the body of a compact crossover. "In Japanese, when you pronounce 'Oh,' it means 'king,'" says Aikawa. "So we would like to launch this type of car, featuring EV and PHEV technology, which is the ultimate of its kind. 'EV' for electric vehicle, 'O' for king - Evo." The Mitsu boss also envisions the four-wheel-drive Evo to be "light and fast - something performance-oriented." Read more at Autocar, or at Hybrid Cars. Amsterdam aims to have all its buses running on electric power by 2025. Within two years, the city will have 40 electric buses in operation, and will phase out the rest of the diesel fleet in the following years. "This project means we are saying goodbye to symbolic behavior and pilot projects," says transport alderman Abdeluheb Choho. "We have decided to just do it, not to experiment with five buses." Read more at Clean Technica. BMW and General Motors are both listed in the top five US organizations generating and using green energy onsite. In an EPA list, BMW's Spartanburg, South Carolina manufacturing facility is number four, with credit going to its use of landfill gas. In 2013, 69,383,477 kWh - or 37 percent of its total usage - came from green energy. GM's Fort Wayne Assembly was number five, with 43 percent of its power coming from methane from a nearby landfill. Volkwsagen also made the Top 30 list, at number 15, for its Chattanooga assembly plant's use of solar power. See the EPA's full list, and read more at Green Car Congress. Volkswagen will release its 2014 sustainability report on Twitter on Monday, May 4. It will be the first step in using the social medium to distribute information on economic, environmental and social sustainability to a larger audience. The report will include a section called "Electrifying China with a tailor-made efficiency strategy," which focuses on reducing CO2 emissions through the use of electric vehicles. Volkswagen has already begun releasing highlights from its report on its Twitter account with the hashtag #VWCSR. Read more in the press release below and, of course, on Twitter next week.
