Up for sale is my 2012 Volkswagen Golf TDI in Candy White with black interior. The car has 38,670 miles and may slightly go up. I have mostly stopped driving it. The car was originally purchased at Aristocrat Volkswagen in Sanford, FL by me. It has had all necessary service performed here as well. I have any and all paperwork that goes along with the car such as the window sticker, invoice, service records, e.t.c.

I am a neat freak of sorts and have taken very good care of this car for the past 2 years. It is washed and vacuumed once per week and waxed regularly. The paint is in fantastic condition and the car has zero door dings. There are a few rock chips on the front end as to be expected from a two year old car with almost 40K miles. No accidents. The interior is very clean and has TDI monster mats. I also have the original, never used carpet floor mats. I have added a couple things to the car which include an OEM Votex roof spoiler, Golf R "Talledega" wheels powdercoated wet black, GTI style dual exhaust (axle back), and OEM driver gear lowering springs. An alignment was also done at Aristocrat after the springs.

The car has Nitto Motivo tires with plenty of tread and are worn perfectly even. This car has given me zero issues over the past 2 years and gets great fuel mileage, always 40-50 mpg depending on the type of driving. I use a fuel additive at each fill up to keep the system clean and lubricated. There is a loan on the vehicle, however I am far from upside down on it. Once a price is agreed on and payment is received, I will pay off the car and get a title to the buyer ASAP.

I am willing to accommodate the buyer in anyway I can regarding shipping or if the car needs to be inspected to be financed by the buyer's bank. I am only selling this vehicle because financial priorities have changed and i'd like to be out of debt at this time in my life. I am asking $19,000 OBO. Any questions please let me know, my number is 386-986-8321. Thanks, Darren

Winterkorn vacates chairs on Audi, Truck & Bus boards

Thu, Nov 12 2015

The last remaining vestiges of Martin Winterkorn's power within the Volkswagen Group are slowly melting away. The former chairman of the group's management board resigned as CEO nearly two months ago in the wake of the diesel emissions scandal. He held onto other roles within the group, but one by one he's been vacating those as well. Last month Winterkorn resigned from his role at Porsche SE – Volkswagen's largest shareholder. Now the latest development comes from Bloomberg, which reports that Winterkorn has stepped down from his role as chairman of the supervisory board at Audi. Prior to his promotion to run the entire group, Winterkorn served as chief executive of the Audi division, and prior to his resignation served continued to serve as its board chairman. No date was given for his resignation from that capacity, nor any successor named at this point. Repeated requests for clarification from Audi have gone unanswered. In correspondence with Autoblog, however, spokespeople for VW's commercial vehicle operations confirmed that Winterkorn has also stepped down as the chairman of the board at Truck & Bus GmbH. The newly established division encompasses truck manufacturers Man and Scania. Winterkorn also served as chairman of Scania's board, but requests for confirmation of his departure from that role also went unanswered. The Swedish truck manufacturer, however, named Henrik Henriksson as its a new chief executive only a few days ago.

Volkswagen looking to acquire Proton, Lotus?

Thu, 26 Jul 2012

Let's say you're an automaker bent on world domination looking to grow your sales. That's going to have you looking at Asian markets, because that's where some of the biggest growth has been, and that's exactly what Volkswagen is doing as it considers making another run at Malaysia's Proton.
Reuters reports that Volkswagen is interested in at least a partial stake, if not a controlling interest in Lotus-parent Proton as a way to continue a production presence in the region without having to build its own factory.
Volkswagen already builds the Passat in a DRB-HICOM facility in Pekan, Malaysia, and plans are in place to build the Jetta and Polo there, as well. With both southeast Asia and its relationship with Proton figuring so importantly in Volkswagen's plans for expansion, buying into Proton can help ensure stability. Volkswagen is being tight-lipped about the whole idea, but CEO Martin Winterkorn did recently say, "it's our clear goal to continue the successful (expansion) course of past years with great dynamics and stability," which sounds an awful lot like deals are on the table to smooth the path to further growth.

Volkswagen iBeetle gets integrated iPhone dock, little else

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

Apple fans have been itching to see the tech giant flex the full muscle of its iOS operating system in an automotive infotainment system for years, which is why we turned all sorts of excited when we caught wind of the Volkswagen iBeetle. The machine is headed to the Shanghai Motor Show for a debut, and VW promised it would be one of the "first cars in the world to have a genuine integrative interface for the iPhone that was coordinated with Apple." Listen closely, and you can hear the contented sigh of a million wallets opening.
Go ahead and close those up, kids.
In reality, the iBeetle offers little more than a dash-mounted dock and a special app that shows a few vehicle functions, which is about as far from an infotainment revolution as you're likely to find. In fact, the setup is little more than a factory rehash of aftermarket items, and hardly worth a whole model debut at an international motor show. And that's to say nothing of the fact that Apple relishes in changing the shape and form of its darling handheld at every generation. Volkswagen better be prepared to keep pace with appropriate docking mechanisms for the upcoming iPhone 5S, 6, 6S, et al.
