Volkswagen may have ruled out producing a road-going Polo more potent than the new GTI, but on the rally stage, the Polo R WRC has proven absolutely dominant. While those are the only vehicles listed, the Chinese source said over 2,700 vehicles were destroyed. VW orders external probe into diesel emission scandal

According to the EPA and the California Air Resources Board, affected cars emit as much as 40 times the allowable level of certain pollutants.
