Location:

Satellite Beach, Florida, United States

Satellite Beach, Florida, United States

VOLKSWAGEN, TYPE 111, TYPE 3  = FASTBACK

I WILL NOT BE RELISTING THIS CAR AT A LOWER PRICE, THIS IS MY BOTTOM LINE

THIS IS A PROJECT CAR FOR RESTORATION
(not a get in and drive situation)

- This was a car that was started for restoration about 10 years ago and then never completed. Although tit was painted it will need some body work, rust repair and the restoration completed.

- Clear State of Florida title in the previous owners name ready to be signed over. I purchased this car from the original owner when they lost interest and life's needs changed.

- I purchase the car as I needed  a donor chassis/pan for another type3 project however, this car is far to nice to part out and deserves to be someones pride and be completed. Its a shame not to see this car on the road. (I have 5 other projects so this I cannot provide for)

- Type 3 s are extremely rare on the east coast

- Reasonable floor pans with some rust holes in the rear behind seats but still holds a standing adult and the battery

- Car has been lowered by previous owner

- Does not have a motor/engine. Does not run

-This is a roller, can be towed or trailered easily, rolls freely, all suspension and brakes are intact excluding emergency hand brake lever

- Solid windshield cowl
- Solid Doors
- Good Heater Channels
- Great, clear windshield

Throw ab engine in it and within sometime you could have this Fasty back driving on the roads.

Put a type 1 upright motor in it, Subaru or even a 1.8 Water cooled motor ?

2014 Volkswagen XL1 [w/video]

World's Most Efficient Car Impresses, Not Without Compromises
Among our many duties at the recent Geneva Motor Show, we were offered a pretty exclusive drive in the new Volkswagen XL1 hyper-efficient plug-in diesel hybrid. There is so much that is interesting about a car like this reaching production from a major automaker that it's tough to know where to begin.
First off, you should know that - at least for this generation - there is absolutely no chance in Albuquerque that this "1-liter vehicle" (i.e. a vehicle that can burn just one liter of fuel to travel 100 kilometers, or 62.1 miles) will ever make it into the hands of North American customers. We, too, were having trouble imagining an XL1 in typical American traffic, surrounded by comparatively massive pickups and SUVs. The driving experience had us recalling a couple of weeks in 1999 when we drove the then-revolutionary Honda Insight hybrid on US roads. We keenly remember the feeling of being very small and vulnerable, even as we felt proudly green in our 61-mpg Tochigi pod. Thing is, the Volkswagen is smaller still, and nearly as light despite its more complex drivetrain and safety features.

Prop-driven VW Beetle hopes to land in Bonneville [w/video]

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

Sometimes you meet folks who, when they tell you "Hey, I have an idea," your reflex response is to stop what you're doing and tell yourself, "Get ready...." We imagine Mike Niemans is one of those folks, and the idea in question is putting a tank engine on a Type 1 Volkswagen Beetle. Not just any old tank engine - as if there were such a thing when we're talking about putting them in cars - but a 668-cubic-inch, 220-horsepower radial engine built by Continental in 1941 and procured from an M2 tank.
In the image above Nieman is using the tank clutch hub to get the motor set up, but in one of the images below you can see what really belongs back there is: a two-inch, reverse-pitch prop taken from a wind generator. He says there's enough mojo with the propeller action to get the car rolling down the runway like a jet when he gives it gas - and speaking of gas, the engine's been refitted to run on propane.
After a few safety tweaks Nieman's going to take the matte-black Beetle to Bonneville, "put the prop on, let her go and see what happens!" We can't wait to see the video of that. There are two shakedown videos below to get you ready.

VW previews retouched 2014 Touareg for Beijing

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

Volkswagen is in New York this week showing off its new Jetta and Golf TDI SportWagen concept. But in less than a week, the German automaker will be off to China for the Beijing Motor Show, where it will showcase the revised Touareg you see here.
A subtle update on the Touareg that's been on the market in its current form for four years now, the facelifted model features reworked styling front and rear, an updated interior and a host of new technologies to keep it current in the highly competitive SUV market. Among those new features are larger bi-xenon headlights, coasting function, Google Maps integration and a post-collision braking system designed to prevent a second crash.
VW will offer the new Touareg with a variety of engines around the world, but in North America it'll carry over the same six-cylinder powertrain options as the outgoing model: a 3.6-liter V6 with 280 horsepower, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 with 240 hp (though torque isn't listed, we'd expect around 406 pound-feet, same as last year) and a hybrid that marries a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 to an electric motor that combine to deliver 380 hp.
