2005 Vw Passat Turbo Diesel Many Extras on 2040-cars
Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States
| HI!  Up for sale I have a 2005 TURBO DIESEL VW Passat. I have owned this car for 3 years. I am the third owner. Since I have owned the car I have fixed everything that has or could go wrong.  Mechanically: this car runs and drives VERY smooth. The transmission was replaced and installed NEW in 2012. $4000 (receipt to prove) all work done by VW. Next, I replaced the notorious (for this year) Camshaft. Since I had the head off this car I replaced all valves, guides, and followers essentially a BRAND NEW head (1800$). I then replaced all belts, tensioners, and gaskets (intake/exhaust/valve cover) with brand new OEM equipment (all ordered from BORAparts.com). Brand new GATES timing belt, timing tensioner, serpentine belt, serpentine tensioner. Last I replaced the tires, brakes, and the starter ( the old starter was ok but slowly going out, the new one has a LT warranty from Oreilleys) The only other issue that I had was the flap motor (another notorious failure of this car) I replaced this with the new upgraded flap motor from BORAparts.com ($490). All of this work has been done within the last 5000 miles in my shop by Everett and Brett Palmer (please feel free to read up on either of them in TDI forums user name is diesales one of the best TDI Techs around). The last of the notorious BHW failures is the much controversial Balance Shaft issue. Brett Palmer pulled off the cover to the oil pump and verified the Balance Shaft is in PERFECT mechanical condition. Some cars have it but many do not. Many of these Passats that have over 300 even 400,000 miles with the original Balance shaft. I believe there was a bad "batch" of Passats that had this unfortunate Balance shaft issue. Rest assured, mine has been inspected by a TRUSTED Mechanic and has been cleared as mechanically perfect. Fresh oil, coolant as well as air filter oil filter fuel filter and cabin filter were all done within the last 5000 miles. The car had an alignment done within the last 10,000 miles and drives beautifully down the road. This car is ready for another 100,000 miles!!!! Interior: The interior of this car is a 8.5/10. The leather seats are still in great condition with no rips. The heated elements work great on both driver and passenger side. The carpet is VERY nice considering the mileage. The original carpet mats are still in VERY good condition as well. Monsoon stereo cd/tape player. Steering wheel controls for the stereo are an extra benefit to this car. Automatic windows and locks, as well as automatic sunroof.  Exterior: The paint on this car is absolutely beautiful. The previous owners took extremely well car of this vehicle. I have a two inch stack of maintenance paperwork that included EVERY 10,000 maintenance from 10,000 all the way to 190,000 and any replacement in between. The tires have 90% tread life left on 80,000 mile rated all season tires. These tires include transferable warranty thought discount tire. Equipped with ESP, in conjunction with the tires, there is nothing this car cant plow through rain or snow this winter season. The only flaw to the exterior is a 12 inch by 1 inch dent in the rear passenger door.  This car needs NOTHING. Hop in and drive anywhere. Highway mileage is 42mpg, city is around 35mpg. This is a very luxurious Turbo Diesel car, in excellent condition. Car is currently located in Ida, MI (just north of Toledo, OH) Feel free to email or call with any questions. 419-345-1732 |

Volkswagen Golf R 400 Concept still makes us swoon
Fri, Nov 21 2014We know, we know – this hot little guy isn't really new or anything. Volkswagen first rolled out the Golf R 400 concept in Beijing earlier this year, and since its debut, we've heard rumors that the German automaker might-perhaps-maybe-hopefully build the thing. Its showing here in Los Angeles simply marks the first time it's debuting in America, and honestly, we can't get enough. So here it is, again. Hello, Golf R 400 – we love you. And what's not to love? What starts as a normal Golf R gets better with a more aggressive appearance, big wheels, some tasteful neon yellow accents, and a whole mess of power. The original concept packed 395 horsepower from an overblown 2.0-liter turbo-four, though the most recent reports suggest a production version could produce over 400 hp. To keep it all in line, the concept has all-wheel drive. And inside, it's the same functional, comfortable Golf we've always loved. There's nothing left to say, really. We love this car, and you should, too. Check it out in the gallery above.
The hottest modern sports cars rendered as rally racers
Thu, Jan 14 2016The modern-day World Rally Championship a monumental amount of fun to watch – I should know, as I recently was lucky enough to head to the UK to watch WRC Wales Rally GB – but even the most monstrous of the current WRC cars are based on fairly pedestrian European hatchbacks. Back in the heyday of rally, the Group B era in the 1980s, much hotter cars were the basis of even more incredible competition machines, for the most part. Take the exotic Ford RS200, or the Lancia Delta S4 with its twin-charged engine. And the hatchback-based Group B cars were bonkers, too. So what would some of our favorite modern cars look like if Group B had never ended? A British site named CarWow hired an artist to reimagine everything from the Rolls-Royce Wraith to the Porsche 911 as a retro-inspired rally car, and they were kind enough to let us share the results in the gallery above. The gallery features an Alfa Romeo Giulia in Martini livery, an Audi TT in classic Ur-Quattro colors, a Fiat 500 Abarth sporting massive flares and a hood blister full of auxiliary lights, a new Ford Mustang in RS200 livery, a Lancia Delta in Alitalia colors, a Porsche 911 in Rothmans livery, a Renault-Alpine in classic blue, a Rolls-Royce Wraith tribute to the Jules cologne Corniche Coupe, and a relatively modern-looking VW Touran. So far, the favorite around the office is the incredible Mercedes-Benz S-Class that is an homage to the wonderful 300 SEL 6.8 AMG "Red Pig" that essentially put AMG on the map. Check out the gallery above and see which one you like the best. Related Video:
Audi rumored to buy Alfa Romeo, officials deny it
Thu, 28 Mar 2013For more than two years, Volkswagen has been making public statements about its willingness to buy Alfa Romeo and quadruple the Italian brand's sales, and for just as long, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne has replied with some version of "Mr. Piëch, drop it." According to a report in Ward's Auto, all that jousting might be over: it claims that sources close to both Marchionne and Audi CEO Rupert Stadler admit that the two are in talks for Audi to buy not just Alfa Romeo, but a production plant in Italy. In fact, a final deal could possibly include partsmaker Magnetti Marelli.
Against that backdrop, a report by German news weekly Stern quotes a Fiat spokesmen as saying it doesn't comment on rumors and an Audi rep has said flatly that "There is no substance in the news." If a sale is being arranged, the timing would seem to point to how eager Fiat is to raise cash to complete its major initiatives. Even though Alfa Romeo continues to delay its return to the US, it just showed off the production version of the 4C at the Geneva Motor Show (shown above) and said that preferred Fiat dealerships here would get them. Then there's Alfa's recently concluded deal with Mazda to develop a roadster based on the next generation MX-5 Miata - a deal that would seem to help both the Italian and Japanese brands.
The monetary issues are troublesome, though. Fiat is taking a beating in the European market and its weak-kneed balance sheet is delaying gotta-have-it products like the Jeep Cherokee. Fiat has been talking to banks about getting money to buy the rest of Chrysler and those financial institutions have also raised issues about debt and cash reserves, and the nasty game of chess Fiat is playing with the United Auto Workers (and now the court system about the portion of Chrysler it doesn't own) could end up blowing another hole in Marchionne's plans. It is possible that this could finally have convinced Fiat to at least see how serious Audi's parent company, Volkswagen, is about buying Alfa Romeo. Or it could be just another rumor.
