I am selling my rare 2001 Jetta GLX. These are top of the line for the Jetta's. It has power everything including sunroof, heated leather seats, Monsoon stereo, etc. I will give you a breakdown of everything on the car:

Mechanics: The car has 149683 on the odometer. The car runs great with plenty of power. It has a 5 speed manual transmission and VR6 engine. The check engine light is on and it reads emissions workshop on the onboard computer. I am assuming this means it needs an O2 sensor. I just replaced the seals for the oil cooler, put a new coil pack on it (old one had a crack), and new Bosch Iridium plugs. It has a small coolant leak that I believe is coming from the "crack pipe." Besides those two issues everything is great on the car. All the power works and has a great sounding stereo for factory. It has brand new BF Goodrich tires all the way around.

Body: Body is in pretty good shape. There are no major dents on the car. The driver side fender has some peeling clear coat on the top and there are two small spots on the front of the hood that the paint was chipped and it has some surface rust that can be knocked off and touched up. There is no rust on the frame or anywhere on the body.

Interior: The interior is in great shape on the car. The seats are perfect with no tears or rips anywhere. The dash does not have any cracks in it anywhere. The floors are clean with just a vacuum needed to make it perfect. The trunk carpet is good as well. I think the front seats had covers on them most of the time and the covers are still in the trunk.

All in all the car is in good shape and is fun to drive. I bought it as a gas saver due to my other vehicle being a full size truck. I just do not know very much about VW so I am selling it to buy a car I know more about how to work on. I do have it for sale or trade locally so if it is gone before the auction ends then I will end the auction.  If you have any questions about the car you can email, call, or text me, 864-254-8572

On Jan-26-14 at 14:34:40 PST, seller added the following information:

I took the car to Auto Zone today to have them read the check engine light because I noticed it had a little skip. They hooked up the OBDII and it is not an O2 sensor that is bad. It is actually the Cam Shaft Position sensor. I thought this was good news because the part is $68 on ebay, see the link below, which is cheaper than the O2 sensor. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Audi-Porsche-VW-EuroVan-Jetta-Phaeton-Touareg-Engine-Camshaft-Position-Sensor-/190707088822?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2001%7CMake%3AVolkswagen%7CModel%3AJetta%7CSubmodel%3AGLX%7CEngine+-+Liter_Display%3A2.8L&hash=item2c67073db6&vxp=mtr

VW has received several tentative bids for Ducati

Thu, Jul 20 2017

Italy's Benetton family is vying with motorbike firms and buyout funds for control of Italian motorcycle brand Ducati, which is being sold by Germany's Volkswagen, sources involved in the process told Reuters. Volkswagen, whose Audi division controls Ducati, has received several tentative bids with the Benetton family's investment vehicle Edizione Holding valuing the Monster motorbike maker at $1.2 billion, one of the sources said. As well as Edizione Holding, U.S. buyout fund Bain Capital, which owns a stake in Ski-Doo snowmobiles maker BRB, and two Indian motorbike firms, Eicher Motors and Bajaj Auto, have also bid for Ducati, the sources said. Indian carmaker Eicher controls Royal Enfield, a motorcycle brand established in 1893 which ranks as one of the oldest. Strategic bidders also include U.S. automotive firm Polaris Industries, which earlier this year said it would wind down its struggling Victory Motorcycle brand. A shortlist of bidders for a second stage of the auction could be selected as soon as Saturday, two of the sources said. Volkswagen adviser Evercore has a long list of bidders including private equity funds such as Ducati's previous owner Investindustrial, CVC Capital Partners, Advent and PAI, all hoping to outbid industry players, the sources said. If it gets to the second round, Edizione Holding could seek to form a consortium with a financial investor, two of the sources said, in a bid to secure control of Ducati, whose racers have won the Superbike world championship 14 times, with Carl Fogarty and Troy Bayliss its most successful riders. Audi, Edizione Holding, Investindustrial, Advent and PAI declined to comment, while the other interested groups were not immediately available for comment. PRICING CHALLENGES For some buyout funds, Ducati's valuation of up to $1.4 billion – which sources said is based on a multiple of more than 10 times its core earnings of roughly 100 million euros – is a tall order as they lack the synergies that some motorbike makers could achieve. But Investindustrial founder Andrea Bonomi, who sold Ducati to Audi for about 860 million euros in 2012, is serious about a comeback, one of the sources said. China's Loncin Motor was among a group of industry players that initially showed interest in Ducati, alongside Harley-Davidson. The latter has, however, decided against making a bid due to Ducati's price tag, while it could not be established if Loncin Motor had carried on bidding.

Toyota holds onto crown of World's Largest Automaker

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Although there were hints and allegations that the Volkswagen Group might have taken the global sales crown for 2014, the final tally puts Toyota at the top with 10.23 million sales in 2014. We should really say it keeps Toyota at the top, since that makes three years in a row the Japanese company has been No. 1. Volkswagen Group came in second with 10.14 million units sold, General Motors in third with 9.92 million units sold. This the first time for both Toyota and Volkswagen to pass 10 million sales in a single year. Toyota, including its Hino and Daihatsu divisions, did it with a three-percent increase in company-wide sales on the back of strong demand in Japan and the US. Its strength in developed markets might be the reason it loses the title this year, though; Toyota forecasts a two-percent gain in sales outside of Japan, but a nine-percent drop in its home market because of a new consumption tax that encouraged buyers to purchase before the end of last year. On top of that, turmoil in Southeast Asian economies like Thailand and Indonesia depressed sales in 2014 and they're facing more headwinds. The company envisions 10.15 million sales in 2015. Volkswagen, on the other hand, "has a jet engine strapped to its back called 'China,'" where Toyota is out-of-sorts. Volkswagen Group sales fell 2.9 percent in the US last year, while Toyota gained 6.2 percent here. But Volkswagen roped in 3.7 million sales in China, a 12-percent increase. Toyota enjoyed a huge bump of 12.5 percent in China, but that only got it to 1.03 million units, missing its yearly target and leading to trouble with its Chinese dealers over unsold inventory. With Toyota on the Chinese sidelines while Volkswagen guns for No. 1 status and pledges more production capacity in China – sales there are expected to top 25 million units this year – it looks like this could be the year the VW Group takes over the lead. That would be three years ahead of its original target of 2018. An analyst in Japan said Toyota is more focused on "keeping profitability than chasing numbers" – profitability is an issue for VW right now – so Toyota might not be back at the top "for [the] coming years."
