2003 Turbo S New Beetle 6 speed Very Good Condition CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!.  I have a very good little bug up for sale. The bug runs and drives very good. The bug is turbo charged and has plenty of power while averaging 32mpg. The engine runs very good with no smoke or funny noises and the 6 speed transmission shifts very good. The body is in excellent condition and the factory red paint looks good. There is some paint chipping on the front bumper cover please see the picts. The interior in in very good condition with two tone leather, sunroof, 6 disc cd changer, and all the power equipment that came special on the turbo s coupe. The power windows work but the drivers side is slow rolling up and the windshield has a crack on the passenger side. The brakes, tires, and battery is good and the special " axe blade " wheels are good also. There is an electric operated wing above the rear glass that raises when you reach a certain speed and lowers when you decrease to a certain speed. These Turbo S coupes were only made a couple of years and had alot of special options that the regular bugs didn't have. This is my wife's vehicle and she has decided to sell it and buy a new vehicle. The miles are low at 123,005 and i have a clean clear title for the new owner. Please look at all the pictures and ask questions and i'll get back to you. I have a very low reserve set on this, so bid to win. Cash payment in hand and pickup of vehicle is expected within 7 days of auction close. Buyers are responsible for all pickup arrangements. If buyer chooses to have the vehicle shipped, I am willing to work with the shipper for pickup arrangements as long as the vehicle is paid in full, in CASH. All items are sold as is, where is. Please look at my feedback and bid with confidence, good luck and happy bidding, thanks.

Porsche CEO Oliver Blume will be installed as head of the VW brand

Wed, Jun 3 2020

Volkswagen Chief Executive Herbert Diess is planning to promote Porsche CEO Oliver Blume to take over as the head of the VW brand, according to a report from Auto Motor und Sport. Citing company sources, the German site said Bernhard Maier, who currently sits at the head of VW's Skoda brand, will lead Porsche in Blume's place. A shuffle at VW isn't surprising. The last thing Volkswagen needs as it transitions away from its long-running "clean diesel" TDI fiasco and into a clean electric ID future is negative press surrounding its burgeoning electrified lineup. Unfortunately, the ID.3 launch has been marred by software issues, with Manager magazine citing company engineers saying "the basic architecture was developed too hastily." Because of that underlying issue, various modules "often do not understand each other" and suffer dropouts. The brand-new eighth-generation Golf launch was also troubled and pushed back due to software problems. And more recently, Volkswagen was forced to pull an advertisement after admitting it was racist and insulting. That marketing misstep, according to the report, will lead to the firing of Chief Marketing Officer Jochen Sengpiehl. Related Video:

VW Beetle R is one mean bug

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

Volkswagen's R lineup currently consists of the Golf R in North America, and the too-cool-for-school Scirocco R in Europe. It hasn't exactly been a secret as to which VW would next get the R treatment; the German manufacturer reportedly confirmed that a hotter Beetle would be coming to the US. That announcement, in August 2011, was followed up by a production-ready Beetle R Concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
After some wait, we're finally seeing spy shots of the Beetle R in Germany. The mule shown in the images here is wearing the R-Line bodykit, which adds sportier front and rear fascias, side skirts, dual exhausts and a not-so-subtle spoiler. Topped off with Volkswagen's traditional, five-spoke R wheels, we'd be just fine with the Beetle R coming to market as is.
Our spy photographer, though, seems to think that the production R will get even sportier sheetmetal, which we take to mean the more assertive look shown on the Frankfurt show car. Larger intakes on the front fascia, a bigger rear spoiler and vertical vents on the rear bumper could all be upcoming. Whether a production model will include the concept's polished wheels (R cars haven't traditionally embraced that look), vented hood and the quad-tipped exhausts remains to be seen.

Everyone but VW and Tesla has recalled their Takata airbags

Thu, Aug 20 2015

Takata's massive airbag inflator recall affected over 32 million vehicles from 11 automakers in the US, but two companies buying the supplier's parts haven't been affected so far: Volkswagen and Tesla. There are 887,055 VWs and 184,926 Teslas using Takata's inflators with ammonium-nitrate propellant, a new accounting shows, according to Automotive News. That doesn't necessarily mean the models need to be recalled. These figures came from a report that Takata prepared for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which listed all of the vehicles it supplied with ammonium nitrate-fueled inflators. The substance is believed to be linked with the components' rupturing, along with manufacturing defects and humidity. "We're not asking because we've got reports of problems; we just need to figure out what the universe is," NHTSA spokesman Gordon Trowbridge said to Automotive News. Takata reportedly told Tesla that the inflators in its EVs are not affected with these problems, and VW is investigating a case in June where a side airbag allegedly burst in a 2015 Tiguan, Automotive News reports. The government is also still researching the precise cause of the parts' ruptures. If the investigation finds ammonium nitrate to be a factor, the vehicles could need recalled. During a Congressional hearing Takata vice president Kevin Kennedy admitted that ammonium nitrate could be among the factors of the ruptures, but the company has continued to use the chemical in its inflators. Takata is now working to transition to a different propellant. Related Video:
