1961 Original Ragtop VW Bug: The Bug is completely done......
Up for sale is my 1961 VW Ragtop - Pan off Restoration. This project has taken me 1 1/2 years to complete. I have went trough everything on this bug from a fully powder coated pan to full custom interior. Here is some of the highlights from this master piece: 1961 matching numbers original ragtop 3 STAGE paint - fully color sanded and buffed With 5 YEAR warranty Fully powder coated pan with all hardware replaced New 4" narrowed front end Fully powder coated 4 wheel Airkewld Bad series stage II disk brakes all the way around (Wilwood) New Benco Transmission / Street pro (0 miles) New Professionally done and installed interior New 2332 Bubble top motor (The motor had 0 miles) Tuned by Jaycee Enterprise built by Bo Richie Motors of Santa Ana (180 hp on the Jaycee dyno) (If you need more info please call) this motor alone is worth over $10,000.00 All new rubber New windshield There is nothing on this bug that is not show quality. There is a ton of things that I have not listed and a ton of things that I was not able to put in the pictures. The best way to see this car is in person to appreciate the true restoration and custom work. Let's put it this way, everything on this bug has been touched. The restoration is second to none. As you can see it has some California style but has retained the stock look. The vehicle could easily be turn back into a stock VW but this is the style that I like. I have a ton of pictures, receipts, birth certificate, paperwork documenting all of the stages of work. This is a serious vehicle, for serious people. I can guaranty, this is NOT the VW our parents drove back in the day LOL! Why am I selling it? - Because I am ready to do another project. (plain and simple) I want to do a vert. next. If you are truly interested in this car please call me and lets talk about it. I am not looking for the tire kickers or the folks that are just asking questions. I want the true enthusiasts to call for more info. See the build here: http://s936.photobucket.com/user/jeffsbuggin2/story/36039 Thank you |

Europeans get first crack at new Golf Variant wagon
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Just last week, when we brought you news of a new Volkswagen Golf variant out and testing in Europe, we had no idea we were being so literal with out description. For it seems that VW has every intention of calling its new Golf wagon, making its Geneva debut, the "Golf Variant."
Odd/interesting sobriquets taken as read then, there's a lot to like about this new small wagon from VW. The Variant will shed some 232 pounds in this generation, and will come to market with two efficient TDI engines. Volkswagen isn't giving us displacement figures for either yet, but we're told the diesels will come with outputs of 110 and 150 horsepower. The 110-hp TDI BlueMotion Varient will be good for a whopping 71.3 miles per gallon on the European cycle, when mated to the six-speed manual transmission.
The German automaker has brought along an all-wheel-drive 4Motion version of the Gold Variant to bow in Geneva, as well, and a natural gas-burning TGI BlueMotion is said to be "in the pipeline."
Ten of the greatest Super Bowl car commercials of all time
Thu, Jan 28 2016With an average of over 100 million viewers each year, the Super Bowl always has advertisers bringing out the big guns. And for those among us who don't know the difference between a safety and a touchback, those commercials can be one of the most compelling aspects of the annual ritual. Car companies, in particular, have a long history of making the most of the huge Super Bowl audience by debuting some of the most memorable advertisements that have ever aired on television. So, in preparation for the new batch we'll be seeing this coming Sunday, here's a collection of our favorites from the past. 10. Audi – The Godfather When Audi created this homage to the quintessential gangster movie to promote its newest sports car, the company managed to make a commercial that was simultaneously funny, a little bit disturbing, and most importantly memorable. 9. Maserati – Strike This one might start out slow, but it delivers not only with the wicked sound of the third-generation Ghibli's engine, but with an interesting message about hubris in the auto industry as well. 8. Nissan 300ZX Twin-Turbo – Dream Directed by none other than Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Alien), this dystopian spot has centers around a narrator who explains that in his dream the bad guys are unable to catch him despite their best efforts by way of street bikes, race cars, and supersonic jets. While the twin-turbocharged 300ZX car was certainly a performance powerhouse to be reckoned with in its day, the concept and execution of this one does come off a little bit campy now – but in a good way. Then again, it is a dream, after all. 7. General Motors – Robot This one is unique in that it's genuinely depressing on a profound level. Who would've thought that the simulated suicide of a lovable, anthropomorphic car-building robot who has fallen on hard times could be such a downer? 6. Nissan – With Dad Although the debut season of its new LMP1 racer didn't exactly turn out how the team hoped it would, there's no denying that Nissan's depiction of a strained father-and-son relationship that eventually leads to redemption (and the introduction of the 2016 Maxima) tugs at the heartstrings. 5. Volkswagen – Big Day A surprisingly poignant advert, this one might be low on dialogue but it certainly gets its message across. And just as the dramatic soundtrack begins to lull the viewer into a sense of security, our expectations are upended. 4.
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee teases return with a Countach
Fri, May 29 2015Unless you have an intense aversion to Jerry Seinfeld, it's hard not to find something to like about his show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. After all, the series combines funny people telling often hilarious stories while riding in ridiculously cool vehicles. The trailer for the sixth season is now online, and based on this tease, this definitely looks worth watching no matter what part of the videos interest you. Of course, it's the automotive portion that really grabs us, and Seinfeld has quite a fleet to showcase for season six. The trailer shows off a Lamborghini Countach, a '57 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible, a classic Volkswagen Beetle in the green and white German Polizei livery, a Morgan, an Aston Martin DB5, and a Ferrari 308. On the more humorous side of things, the guest list at least includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jim Carrey, Steve Harvey, Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher and upcoming host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah. Season six of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee premieres on Crackle on Wednesday, June 3, at 11:30 PM ET.
