I am selling my 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5 Doublecab. This truck is in excellent condition inside/out. I purchased truck in July of 2009 with around 32,000 miles. I am the second owner. The truck currently have 49,250 miles. This is a nonsmoker truck. Previous owner was also a nonsmoker. Truck has always been garaged kept. Since purchasing I have done some minor customizing, suspension and performance mods. For starts, I completely debadged it. Along with that I colored keyed the mirrors and tailgate handle to match the factory coated door handles. I also changed out the factory body side moldings for a much slimmer slicker look which was also professionally painted to match. The factory molding IMO was to big and bulky. Outside of this the truck has its original factory paint which is in very good condition. The truck has been lowered using a TR-2040 lowering kit by TundraRacing.(com). This lowered it approx 2" in the front and 4" in the rear. The quality of these kits are unbelievable. Truck rides and handles beautifully. Much better than stock and has zero issues. Also to help with the handling the truck rides on TRD Tokico Sport Shocks. Everything was professionally install using only a certified mechanic at the Toyota Dealership. I have paperwork if needed. After truck was lowered I purchased a set of 22" wheels (Alba Remix) and 285/40-22 Falken tires. This not only enhanced the looks but ride quality too. The wheels and tires are a perfect fit and offset. The truck has a 4.7 litre VVTI naturally aspirated engine. I've added a 63 series K&N CAI along with a professionally install 70 series catback split rear behind the tire performance exhaust system. There's absoutely no cabin drone sounds great!!! Due to unforseen circumstances I am forced to sell this beauty. You must really see to appreciate this truck!!! These modifications have not changed any of this trucks capabilities!!! I can not express that enough. If you are looking to buy a 2006 Toyota Tundra Doublecab SR5 look no further. You will not be dissappointed with this one. I can be reached via email at dixon.eric1400@gmail.com . Also I failed to mention truck has a hard retractable tonneau Pace Edwards Bed Cover and highly polished stainless steel billet upper and lower grille!!!!!! Contact me as I am sure I forgot something else. Thanks for you time, Eric

Recharge Wrap-up: Nissan Leaf top environmental performer, 50,000th Renault Zoe
Thu, Apr 21 2016Renault has produced its 50,000th Zoe electric car. A Frenchwoman named Sylvie took ownership of the milestone vehicle at the Flins plant where it rolled of the line. She says her children helped convince her to buy the all-electric vehicle, which Sylvie intends to use as a daily driver. The Renault Zoe is Europe's best selling EV since its launch in 2013. Renault reports a 98-percent satisfaction rate with the Zoe. Read more in the press release from Renault. Toyota will use a biosynthetic rubber called biohydrin in its engine and drive system hoses beginning in May 2016. Jointly developed by Toyota, biohydrin is a plant-based rubber with a 20-percent reduction in material lifecycle carbon emissions compared to petroleum-based rubber. Toyota plans to use the compound in even more components in the future, including brake and fuel line hoses. Read more from Toyota. So far in 2016, only 27.5 percent of hybrids and EVs are traded in for another electrified vehicle, according to Edmunds. That's down from 38.5 percent in 2015. 33.8 percent of electrified vehicles are traded in for SUVs. Despite the trend of EV and hybrid owners switching back to traditionally powered vehicles, average fuel economy isn't suffering. "This is an economics trend, since today's low cost of gas no longer makes it worth paying the price premium of hybrids and EVs," says Edmunds Director of Industry Analysis Jessica Caldwell. "And there are so many fuel-efficient vehicles on the market today that environmental concerns weigh less than they might have in years past. When you're buying a vehicle that can get over 30 mpg, you can still say you're doing your part to help the environment." Read more from Edmunds. Environmentally, electrified vehicles outperform their conventional combustion counterparts throughout their lifecycle. A study from the Automotive Science Group (ASG) finds that while production of advanced powertrains comes with a greater financial burden, most vehicles make up for it through efficiencies during their use phase. The ASG lists the 2016 Nissan Leaf as its best performer, with 47 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than the best-performing conventionally powered car, the Honda Fit. Rounding out the ASG's top five environmental performers are the Ford Focus Electric, Chevrolet Volt, Toyota Prius Two Eco, and Hyundai Sonata Plug-In Hybrid.
Next-gen Toyota Tacoma mule caught towing in the desert
Wed, 13 Aug 2014With the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon set to arrive in dealers in the near future, it's high time Toyota got to work on a replacement for the Tacoma, a vehicle whose present generation debuted in the middle of the Bush Administration. Now, we have images of that new pickup undergoing testing.
Our spy photographers picked up this heavily modified mule undergoing tow tests in the desert. It rides on a modified version of the current Taco's frame, as evidenced by shots of its undercarriage, although our spies cite the lack of riveted sections as indications that the current truck's footprint should remain unchanged.
Aside from underbody changes, this particular Tacoma featured a six-speed manual transmission, which we're expecting to be joined by a six-speed automatic. The current four- and five-speed autos found on the current truck will almost certainly be killed off. Marching to the grave with those slushboxes will be the two-door Regular Cab body style. Our spies are expecting Toyota to focus its efforts on the larger, more accessible Double Cab.
Toyota, Ford and Honda again top Consumer Reports Car-Brand Perception Survey
Fri, 01 Feb 2013Consumer Reports has released its annual Car-Brand Perception Survey, and the list looks awfully familiar. The top six brands are identical to last year's results, with Toyota, Ford and Honda continuing to occupy the podium. All told, Toyota walked away with 133 points, putting it 15 ahead of second-place Ford. Honda jumped 26 points this year, narrowing Ford's lead to just four points in total.
Consumer Reports polls buyers from across the country on how they see multiple brands in seven categories, including quality, safety, value, performance, design/style, technology/innovation and environmentally friendly/green. Researchers then combine the findings to come up with the total brand score.
While value and performance remain important to buyers, CR found quality and safety are still on top when it comes to significance. Scion and Mitsubishi found themselves at the bottom of the pack with the worst score of all, tied at just six points. Ram, Fiat and Mini filled out the lowest five with scores of seven, eight and 10 points, respectively. You can read the full press release below for more information, or head over to the Consumer Reports site.
