2001 Toyota Tacoma 4X4

Silver with Grey interior

INCREDIBLY GREAT LOOKING AND RUNNING VEHICLE

The vehicle has always been meticulously maintained, detailed, serviced, and garaged.

136 K Miles. I purchased the vehicle one year ago from a previous owner who pampered it.  I have continued the tradition.  It's been my weekend yard sale truck.   Vehicle has always been adult owned and driven, non smoker, and all regular maintenance performed.
Possibly the nicest, vintage Toyota Tacoma that you will find on the market today.

Pictures don't lie.  This vehicle drives like it looks. Everything is operational from the clock, to CD player, to cold A/C.  Transmission synchronizers are perfect, as is the clutch, and 4 wheel drive operation including the bearings.  Running gear is tight and suspension fine.  No rotor warpage.  Michelin tires run smoothly at all speeds.  I have no knowledge of any damage history.  All VIN tags in place.

Interior is in excellent condition.  Headliners, carpet, and mats show minimal wear.  Paint is near perfect with minimum road rash and chips.
Close inspection shows that this truck has maintained in every way.  Keys, manual, and original sticker are included.  The TRD graphics were added.  Selling only because I need a bigger truck that will tow a travel trailer.

If you are looking for perfection in an older model Tacoma, this is as close as you will find.

Southern truck.  No undercarriage rust.  Non smoker, no pets, no children, not a work hauler, and obsessively clean freak.
Pictures don't lie.
Clean Georgia title, clean Carfax.

Please buy this truck now so I won't have to drive it to the Daytona Turkey Run and sell it there.

$9,200.

Toyota recalling 800k Camry, Avalon and Venza models for AC issue

Thu, 17 Oct 2013

Toyota has announced plans to voluntarily recall 803,000 vehicles from model years 2012 and 2013, over concerns with the air conditioning condenser housing. The recall covers the Camry, Camry Hybrid, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid and Venza, although the exact split between affected models wasn't available.
According to Toyota, the condenser can leak onto an airbag control module, which in turn could cause a short circuit. In most cases, this will just lead to an airbag warning light, but in rarer instances, the airbags could fail to deploy or pop out of their own accord. There's also a concern over a loss of power steering if the airbag control module develops a short.
It's unclear if there have been any injuries or crashes relating to the defects. Toyota will begin informing owners of affected vehicles via first class mail, and will ask them to report to dealerships for recall work, involving the installation of a cover on the condenser housing.

Hyundai tops Toyota in annual CarMD Vehicle Health Index

Fri, 06 Dec 2013

CarMD has released its third annual Vehicle Health Index, which for the 2013 tracked the frequency and cost of repairs for "check engine" problems of 119-million vehicles built between the 2003 and 2013 model years. For the first two years of the index, Toyota ranked at the top of the list, but this year's results see Hyundai moved to number one, pushing Toyota down a spot.
The Korean automaker's rise to the top has been "fueled by its low repair frequency," according to CarMD. Toyota is second to Hyundai in lowest repair frequency, but Toyotas also have the highest average cost of repair. (Interestingly, General Motors vehicles have the lowest average.) Both Toyota's and Hyundai's manufacturer "health" ratings suffered this year, but Toyota took a bigger hit, which also is what helped Hyundai achieve the top ranking.
While Hyundai is the top manufacturer in the index, the 2012 Toyota Camry is the top vehicle. The best-ranking Hyundai was the 2010 Elantra (behind three Nissan models and four Toyotas), which took the number eight spot. Hyundai has six other vehicles in the top 100.

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.
