2006 Toyota Rav4 Limited Sport Utility 4-door 3.5l on 2040-cars

2006 Toyota Rav4 V-6, 256 Hp. in great condition, original owner. I used our car for estimating, trips and driving my wife to work. Oil changed oil every 3000 Miles, rotated tires (Yokohama YK 520's with at least 15k miles left on them)at the same time. Car was lightly sideswiped by other vehicle and insurance completely covered it to my satisfaction, not my fault. The car had about 80k miles on it at the time and there have been NO issues since the repair. The interior was just professionally shampooed prior to photos. There is a hole in the Driver side carpet from my heel. The engine runs perfectly just as it did when I bought it. The only repairs have been replacing the Brake rotors, the front as I recall. Brake pads are very recent high grade metallic. I only used the best of the best on this car and I am selling it because my wife wanted a new car (Subaru Forester) that we just bought. I will miss the V-6. It has a 6-CD changer/Am-FM radio, Sunroof, great A/c and some connections for newer sound systems. See Toyota brochure "Rav4 Sport" for any further details. The mark below the rear bumper guard is just glue from installing it. Bumper Guards were not standard on the 2006 model. Note my 100% rating on Ebay for any concerns. Buy this Suv, fly in, I will pick you up in Palm Springs and you can drive it back to New York, heck, I would. |

Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Nissan recall 3.4 million vehicles for faulty airbags
Thu, 11 Apr 2013Most vehicle recalls that take place these days are a result of some problem that happens during the manufacturing process by the automaker, but as we see here, parts suppliers can also factor in to problematic safety issues. Automotive News is reporting that a total of 3.4 million vehicles produced by Japanese automakers between 2000 and 2004 are being recalled globally due to faulty airbags produced by an outside supplier, Takata Corp.
According to the report, vehicles from Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mazda are being recalled because of passenger front airbags that do not inflate properly. Globally, Toyota is said to be recalling around 1.73 million cars including 510,000 in the US composed of Toyota Corolla, Matrix, Sequoia and Tundra as well as the Lexus SC430 for the 2001 through 2003 model years; this is the second time this year the 2003 Corolla and Matrix have been recalled for an airbag problem. Honda is recalling 1.14 million models, Nissan another 480,000 and Mazda 45,463. The article says that Takata supplied faulty airbags to non-Japanese automakers, but it did not specify which ones.
Honda and Toyota have released information on their own websites about the recall, while Nissan and Mazda have not yet commented. Read official press releases from Honda and Toyota, below, and look for updates as we have word from the others.

Toyota and Mazda set to expand partnership
Mon, May 11 2015Toyota and Mazda are already teaming up for the Scion iA and Mazda2, but that partnership might just be the beginning. Reuters reports the two Japanese companies could expand their work together, with Toyota chipping in its experience with both fuel cells and plug-in-hybrid tech, and Mazda contributing its know-how in regards to its Skyactiv line of engines. The report cites a pair of unnamed sources that are "not authorized to discuss the matter publicly." The move, on the surface, is certainly appealing for both parties. Mazda has very little experience with hybrids (remember the Ford-rebadged Tribute Hybrid?), let alone something as advanced as a fuel-cell vehicle. Teaming with Toyota, arguably the world's greatest hybrid manufacturer, would give it a serious leg up. For the Japanese giant, meanwhile, a partnership with Mazda could expand the economy of scale for the Mirai FCV's tech, while Skyactiv engines would do well in replacing the base engines in cars like the Corolla, Camry, and RAV4. What are your thoughts? Would an expanded partnership between Toyota and Mazda make sense? Can you think of any drawbacks? Have your say in Comments.
