Perhaps you are in the market for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle but don't want to spend close to $60,000 on an accessible van. Or maybe you need to transport a power wheelchair and your family or friends, but would like to do so in a stylish car.
LOOK NO FURTHER!!!
After seven wonderful years, I am selling my GREAT CONDITION 2006 Toyota Rav4 w/ pre-installed wheelchair lift and a FREE electric scooter. It has the Limited trim package, an inline 4-cylinder engine, and is All-Wheel Drive. I am the original owner of this great automobile. It has just over 102k miles on it. Some notable features include: leather seats, power driver's seat, heated front seats, power moon roof, 10 speaker JBL sound system w/ subwoofer, 6-disc MP3 CD changer, AUX input, remote engine start, and after-market Bluetooth connectivity for cell phones. Click here to view a complete list of features.
As you can see from the title and from the attached photos, this is not your standard Rav4. It has been modified to suit my needs. A Bruno Curbsider Wheelchair Lift was installed in the trunk so I could transport my Pride Sundancer electric scooter back and forth between home, work, school, etc. The scooter can be lifted into the Rav4 and removed in under five minutes. With or without the scooter in the car, the Rav4 comfortably seats 4-5 adults. Other modifications include: steering knob bracket, extended window switches, and VoiceScan system, which enables the driver to operate windshield wipers and moon roof at the push of a button.
A PayPal deposit of $500 will be required within 24 hours of purchase and complete payment due within 7 business days. Modifications can be completely removed at buyer's expense after ownership of vehicle has been transferred to buyer. Shipping may be available at buyer's expense after cashier's check clears. The vehicle is located in South Windsor, CT, so I encourage you to come take a look at it. Please contact me to schedule a test drive: 860-216-8126.

Toyota delves into the history of its Land Cruiser
Fri, 06 Sep 2013One of the longest-produced, most widely distributed vehicles in all of automotive history is also one of its most rugged: the Toyota Land Cruiser. With 60 years of continuous production, 14 different model lines and thousands of variations of the Jeep-like sports utility vehicle, the Land Cruiser became a success worldwide and developed a cult following among enthusiasts here in the US.
We'll be the first to admit that tracing the vehicle's lineage from its humble beginnings as a prototype for Japan's National Police Reserve in 1951 to what it is today isn't an easy task, especially when one considers that the types of Land Cruisers produced traditionally have varied from market to market. For example, the Land Cruiser sold in the US is very different from the US-only 40 series Land Cruiser-inspired FJ Cruiser, which is itself different from the Land Cruiser Prado sold in other world markets.
To cover the Land Cruiser's sixty-plus year history from start to present, someone over at Toyota UK was thoughtful enough to devote a plus-size blog post to it. It's worth a read if you have a spare 10 or 15 minutes - and even if you don't, you can check out our historical gallery above. Enjoy!
Toyota drops detail about 414-hp Hybrid-R concept powertrain
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R Concept has been teased already, offering up little glimpses and details of the Frankfurt-bound vehicle. And while those few, shadowy shots have been great, we've really wanted to know how this hatchback would deliver its promised 400-plus horsepower. Under hood sits a 1.6-liter, race-derived, direct-injection, turbocharged four-cylinder that powers the front wheels. Sounds peachy, but with 414 horsepower splashed across the page, we're going to need something more than a 1.6-liter, turbo four.
A supercapacitor, developed from the Toyota TS030 Hybrid Le Mans racer sits in place of a hybrid's traditional battery packs. The benefit, according to Toyota, is that power can be more rapidly absorbed and discharged than in a traditional battery system, like nickel metal-hydride.
The gas engine is joined by a trio of 60-horsepower electric motors. Two of the them power the rear wheels, while the third sits between the engine and the six-speed, sequential gearbox. Developing the same amount of power as the rear-axle motors, this centrally located motor channels power to the race-derived supercapacitor during braking, and ships extra grunt to the rear wheels under acceleration when the front wheels start to lose grip. Besides the distributive power of the central motor, the rear electric motors can adjust the amount of torque flowing to each wheel, much like a differential.
