May 22, 2013. This business is AWESOME. Unbelievable prices. Peter and his team are so freindly and honest it was like stepping back in time before people were rude, snotty and indifferent. I needed a muffler and tailpipe for my 2000 Toyota Tacoma and was quoted a price of $475 at a competitor in Shelton. Peter demanded that he save me money and on the phone quoted the price of $219. When I got to his business 2 d... view moreays later he asked what the quote was he gave to me on the phone and when I told him he dropped it lower to $210. In and Out in 30 MINUTES, installed. YESSSSS. I will be spreading the word and YANKEE DISCOUNT MUFFER will have all my exhaust and brake service from now on. Dave

This place is the absolute bes...

This place is the absolute best!! nothing comes close!! I`ve been here 5 times for different things for 2 cars and Peter is fantastic.. I fully trust him as on 2 occasions he told me i dont need work done.. and as everyone says he`s fast and has the best prices by a mile! go to him with confidence! you`ll be glad you did..

Truly the Best!

With Yankee Discount Muffler, gettng the car repaired, exhaust system, brakes, or other, is simple and straight forward. They told me beforehand exactly how much it was going to cost, then quickly make the repairs and I was on my way in less than an hour! I think that they are not only the "Best in Town!", I think they may be the Best in all of Connecticut!!

I went there last year and didn`t want to write a review until I had time to test out my new exhaust system. It still purrs like a kitten.

Back in 2007, I was having ""issues"" with my exhaust system. I was losing power, it was very noisy, and it was probably polluting the planet. So I took it to a local shop who quoted me at $800+ for a total exhaust system replacement. Another shop quoted me a similar amount... view more. I remembered this place from their funny commercials back in 1999 (""We are the best in towwwwn""), so I figured I`d give it a shot. I had a very reasonable quote from them once before and instead paid the extra $100+ to get it done at Firestone on the Fairfield/Bridgeport line - big mistake. YDM was able to do the whole job for about $300+/-, saying the entire exhaust system didn`t need replacing, just part of it. He was also able to do it in under an hour. I would absolutely go back - and I live two and a ? hours away!

On another note, the owner is very, very nice. He`s Vietnamese, and won`t hesitate to tell you about his children. It`s not the greatest part of Bridgeport, but if you ever need muffler/exhaust repair/replacement look no further. They are the best b@ng for your buck around.
