1995 Toyota Land Cruiser Base Sport Utility 4-door 4.5l on 2040-cars

I have a 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser (FZJ-80, Locked) for sale. I have owned the car for about 3 years. I bought it form a wholesaler in Leesburg as a project/daily driver, with no service history. Over the last 2 years I have brought the car up to good standards, fixed all the things that were wrong with it. Most of the issues were due to the age of the car, and fairly typical for a 20 year old car, with some specifics to 80's. The complete list is below. I have been driving the car for 3 years and have no reliability issues with it. Starts and runs with no issues, and all the bad stuff has been fixed. If you look at the list of things done there is several k$ of work there, if you were to price it at a shop. Things that were done since I bought the car: - Replaced front diff output pinion seal - Replaced front oil pump gasket (this is a common problem with FZ motors) - Replaced front main crank seal - Replaced all front brake components (rotors, calipers, pads) - Complete front axel service (major seals, minor seals, bearings, knuckle bearings, outer seals) - Replaced shocks (all 4) stock monroe - Replaced steering linkage joints (all 4) - Replaced steering damper - Replaced power steering pump, flushed fluid - Replaced power steering pump drive gear - Replaced power steering gear box, and u-joint - Sealed the roof rack for leaks - Replaced Front diff oil - Replaced transfer case oil - Replaced dome light - Flushed brake fluid - Replaced rear diff oil - Replaced stuck emergency brake drum lever (driver side) - Fixed front passenger power seat worm gear assembly - Replaced coolant down tube gaskets - Replaced coolant hose - Replaced rear brake shoes - Replaced battery - Replaced rotor and plug wires - Replaced and filled AC system (evaporator core, Compressor, Exp Valve, Dryier) - Changed oil regularly around 5k miles - Installed new head unit and speakers (kenwood, I think) Full Disclosure: - The car has an odometer that reads 76k Miles, but the real mileage on the car is approximately 202k miles, someone obviously either changed the dash or rolled it. I had the car fax pulled when I bought it and the last note was at 193k, so adding the mileage I used, its at about 202k right now. - Rear windshield spray does not function, the motor and 3-way valve works, but there is a blockage in the line somewhere - Everything else works, including the lockers Family life and other responsibilities take up most of my time, and I am kind of over the project. Would love this car to go to someone who would be able to finish it, and give it a good home on the trail, or some overland adventure somewhere. . .. If you know these cars and see the work that went into it. . . compared to what is out there. . .. its worth it, but I am open to reasonable negotiation. Call or email if you would like to discuss, will share any info or knowledge I have on the vehicle. MIKE 7034593705 mta0202@gmail.com |

Toyota Matrix not long for this world?
Thu, 18 Apr 2013According to a report from AutoGuide, Toyota doesn't have plans to replace the aging Matrix hatchback in the United States after this year. If true, the timing coincides with the replacement for the Corolla, on which the Matrix is based, with that car slated to get its first complete redesign since 2006 (2008 in the US market).
We'd love to tell you how many Matrix models were sold by Toyota in the United States last year, but the automaker chooses to bundle Matrix sales with Corolla sales, so we have no idea. That said, we have to assume sales of the hatchback don't contribute much overall to the total number of Corolla-based machines.
We're also unsure if Toyota will choose to exit the youth-oriented compact hatchback market entirely, or if the automaker will rely instead on its hybrid Prius line and Scion models like the xB and xD.
Consumer Reports calls on Toyota to recall older Camry Hybrid models
Thu, 31 Jul 2014Consumer Reports is calling on Toyota to issue an official recall of 178,000 Camry Hybrid sedans from model years 2007 to 2011, claiming that a pair of issues affecting the brakes are so dire they demand a more official action than what the company has undertaken so far.
The first issue, as CR tells it, relates to a clog in the brake-fluid reservoir filter, which if left untreated could lead to a number of dashboard warning lights. The "front brake assist could be temporarily lost," too, according to Toyota's own notice to dealers and owners of affected models. The company has issued a "service campaign" that will fit a new brake-fluid reservoir free of charge to any affected model brought to a dealer by June 30, 2017.
The other issue plaguing the fuel-sipping Camrys is being treated via a warranty extension, and focuses on the ABS brake actuator, a particularly expensive (both in terms of parts, at $1,000, and labor, around $3,000) item that is necessary for the anti-lock braking to function. There's also a related issue with the brake pedal's "stroke sensor," which like the actuator can lead to a very difficult-to-depress brake pedal. The warranty extension increases the coverage of the actuator to 10 years or 150,000 miles (whichever comes first).
Recharge Wrap-up: Renault-Nissan hits 250,000 EVs, will the next Toyota Prius be an SUV?
Sat, Jun 27 2015Will the next Toyota Prius be an SUV? Mazda and Toyota recently reached an agreement to share powertrain technologies, which will help Mazda comply with California's tightening ZEV restrictions with a plug-in vehicle. On the flip side, Toyota will have access Mazda's Skyactiv diesel powertrain, which a source tells Motoring will be used in an SUV based on the Toyota Prius (and, as Hybrid Cars suggests, on the Toyota C-HR concept). Interestingly, the collaboration will also give Mazda access to Toyota's fuel cell technology, which could mean more hydrogen powered cars on the road and the subsequent expansion of hydrogen fueling infrastructure. Could it also make way for a long-awaited hydrogen powered rotary-engine sports car from Mazda? Read more at Motoring. Samsung SDI unveiled two new lithium-ion stationary batteries at Intersolar Europe. In doing so, Samsung throws its hat in the ring with the likes of automakers Tesla and Mercedes-Benz, using knowledge from electric vehicle batteries in the arena of home solar energy storage. In addition to its 3.6-kWh battery, its new 5.5-kWh and 8.0-kWh batteries offer storage solutions at a larger, more practical scale for solar customers. Called the All-in-One, the battery system, borrowed from electric vehicles, is made up of a photovoltaic inverter, battery PCS and lithium-ion battery, and promises efficiency, compactness, fast installation and an affordable price. The quarter-millionth EV was a white Renault Zoe sold to a French computer engineer from Bordeaux named Yves Nivelle. While he credits a government program offering a ˆ10,000 rebate for EV buyers trading in an older diesel vehicle for helping him make the decision to pull the trigger on the new Zoe, "I have to say, I was convinced the first time I drove the car. It's a real pleasure to drive and it feels good to do my part for the environment," says Nivelle. The Alliance had sold around 31,600 EVs from January to May this year, up 15 percent from the first five months of 2014. See the video above, and read more in the press release below. Renault-Nissan Alliance sells its 250,000th electric vehicle • Historic EV milestone reached in early June • Alliance sells half of all EVs globally • EV sales up nearly 15 percent through May vs.
