1989 Toyota Mr2 on 2040-cars

US $5,000.00
Year:1989 Mileage:132632
Location:

Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, United States

For sale I have an 1989 Toyota MR2 Automatic Transmission with 132k miles on it (Mileage will go up as I need to use the car to drive to work). The car is in excellent running condition with nice hot heat and ice cold A/C. I've just had a lot of work done on this car and put a lot of money into it, so it kills me to see it go. The engine turns over without a problem and the transmission shifts flawlessly as it was recently replaced. When on normal mode the car shifts around 3-3.5 rpms in order to save gas, when you switch it over to power mode the car shifts right before red line sending you soaring at high speeds.

I will NOT be including the radio seen in the pictures, I will return it to stock before the sale. Do not worry if you think I have stripped the stock wires for the radio, I always use a radio harness so that the stock radio may be easily placed back into the car.

Specs:
- Engine 1.6L 115 hp I4
- Drivetrain RWD
- Body Style Coupe
- 4 Speed Automatic w/ Overdrive
- City (mpg): 26
- Highway (mpg): 31
-Gas Tank Size: 10.8 Gallons

Recent Work Done to Car:
- Passed Pennsylvania Safety Inspection
- Passed Pennsylvania Emission Inspection
- Replaced Muffler
- Two New Front Tires
- Replaced Battery Hold Down
- Balanced Tires
- New Temperature Sensor
- New Wiper Blades
- New Front Speakers (I still have the stock speakers but they are blown out if you would like them)

I have receipts on everything done to the car.

Bad things about this car:
- Has Some Wear And Tear on the Interior (It is a 25 Year Old Car After All, Can Be Seen In pictures)
- Has NO Dents, but Does Have Some Scratches, Can Easily Be Fixed with Touch Up Paint Though
- Window Switch on the Driver Door Does Not Work. There was an aftermarket switch placed next to the gear shift though that operates the drivers side window, works without a problem. Passenger side window works without any problems.

This car is a great deal, it can be used as your weekend warrior or your daily driver with the excellent fuel economy of 30MPG. Ask any MR2 driver how it feels to sit behind this car and you'll see that massive smile grow on their face as they talk about how it feels like they are driving a street legal go cart that can shoot from 0-60 in no time. This car is also a very exotic car and every time I get behind the wheel I always see people checking this car out.

Car is available for pickup ONLY.

Spongebob Squarepants Toyota Highlander gets Tanked in Vegas

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

In 2006, I bought a Scion xB (the super upright, first-generation one), and I always had this wild dream of turning the xBox into an aquarium after it had run its course in my personal test fleet. Long story short, that never happened. But apparently the folks at Toyota got wind of my idea - only, well, this isn't exactly what I had in mind.
Let's just start at the beginning here. This is a 2014 Toyota Highlander - you know, the redesigned one that bowed in New York earlier this year. I haven't driven it yet, but I'm sure it's plenty nice and will appeal to all sorts of families. Families with kids. Kids who like cartoons. Cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants.
Which brings me to our next talking point: the collaboration between Toyota and Nickelodeon for the Spongebob-themed wrap that covers every inch of this Highlander. This isn't the first time we've seen the yellow cartoon sponge on a Highlander - Toyota unveiled a differently wrapped version earlier this year - but this one features more of an aquatic, under-the-sea sort of theme. Perfect, considering the main point of this crossover's reason for being at SEMA.

NHTSA opens safety investigations into Toyota, GM and Honda crossovers

Fri, 08 Jun 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is evidently keeping itself very busy these days, as the federal agency has just announced it is launching or renewing investigations into Toyota, Honda and General Motors crossovers.
2006-2008 model year Toyota RAV4 crossovers are under review for allegations of rear tie-rod rust which can result in failure. NHTSA also said it is probing some 35 complaints about 2005 Honda Pilot models with inappropriate activation of the vehicles' stability control system. The alleged malfunction can cause the vehicles to slow down or stop in bad unsafe situations. At the moment, NHTSA is reviewing a petition regarding the Pilot issue, a move that will determine whether it needs to open a full-blown investigation.
In addition, Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia three-row crossovers built in 2007-2009 are getting looked at for "loss of low beam headlamp" function. One complainant said the wiring in his Outlook overheated and melted. NHTSA says it has received 415 complaints about the problem and a GM spokesman confirmed that the automaker already started a "Customer Satisfaction Program" in December to address the issue.

Fuel cells will flop outside Japan, says VW

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

"It may fly within Japan, but not globally," VW's Shoji said.
It's long been battered into our beleaguered auto writer brains that the ultimate future source of motivation for tomorrow's cars and trucks is not gasoline, diesel, electricity, natural gas, propane or solar power - it's the hydrogen fuel cell. It's been the Next Big Thing since the start of Next Big Things.
