Rare Classic 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj40 on 2040-cars
San Marcos, Texas, United States
|
Up for auction is a great 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. This
truck was originally a California truck.
I bought this truck a while back with the plan to keep it and restore it
little by little, but life gets in the way, and now I have to sell her. This truck is a 90% original and is 95% rust free!
As you can see from the pictures, she is in great shape and has not had any
body panels cut and has all of the factory original glass The odometer reads 295,961 miles, but the
motor went through a complete factory rebuild by the previous owner a few years
ago and runs strong! The FJ40 retains all of the factory smog/emissions
equipment and is 100% emissions compliant.
She has a 4 in. Suspension Lift and (5) brand new 33x10.50 BFG KM2
tires. The truck was recently aligned
when I installed new tires and drives & tracks strait as an arrow. The interior of the truck is > 90% original with the
original factory headliner and dome light still intact. All seats and interior
door panels have been recently re-upholstered and are in great shape. There are
absolutely no electrical issues and the truck could easily be used as a daily
driver as is. However, with very minimal work, the truck could be taken from a
survivor to a full blown reservation. As
I have replaced parts, I have installed OEM factory Toyota replacement parts when
available and a few top qualities Aftermarket parts when OEM was not
available. List of parts is too long to
put on here, but if you have questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. Additionally, I still have all of the original
stock parts that were replaced with aftermarket parts (bumper, suspension,
etc.) that you are welcome to take if you buy the truck. Shipping: I am happy to help arrange and coordinate shipping within
the continental 48 United States. Shipping will be at winning bidders cost. Payment: The winning bidder is required to pay $1,000
non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of winning the auction. Remainder of
payment due within 7 days of auction end. Vehicle will not be released to
winning bidder until funds have been received and cleared any banking holds. Contact Info: Please contact me with any questions that you have prior
to bidding. My email address is: rdk08@yahoo.com I have this vehicle listed locally as well and reserve
the right to end the auction early if purchased through an alternate means. |

Toyota to start production of hydrogen vehicles in December
Sun, 08 Jun 2014Toyota's hydrogen fuel cell vehicle will be in showrooms sooner than planned, the Japan Times reporting that production will commence in mid-December with the sedan following "by the end of this year." No reason was given for the new timeline; Toyota has been saying all along that we'd see it in 2015.
The company is said to be "considering" production volume of "dozens of... vehicles per month" at a "likely" price of eight million yen, which is $78,030 US. That is well in line with the numbers thrown around last year, when the target was somewhere between $50,000 and $100,000. Then late last year, during our first drive of the FCHV mule, we wrote that "the official quote... [is] that a price of 'less than 10 million yen is ideal.'"
That alleged $78K is a sizable sum to be one of the early adopters on the hydrogen fuel cell wagon train, but with things moving around so much - and with Toyota publicly citing hydrogen fuel cells as the future - there's plenty of reason to be cautious about that number.
Toyota hangs on to title of world's largest automaker for first half of 2013
Fri, 26 Jul 2013General Motors and Ford can have all the success they please, but it doesn't seem like America's two largest manufacturers are going to topple Toyota in the first half of 2013. According to Reuters, Toyota moved 4.91 million vehicles in the first six months of 2013, representing a 1.1-percent drop from the same period in 2012.
GM is on the rise, though, with a four-percent increase in global sales, to 4.85 million. Volkswagen, still sitting in third, saw a 5.5-percent jump to 4.7 million vehicles in the first half of 2013.
If this pace continues for Toyota, it'll finish 2013 in the top sales spot for the second year in a row. The manufacturer fell to third, behind GM and VW, in 2011 after earthquakes and tsunamis ravaged its production capacity.
Toyota recalling small number of 2014 FJ Cruisers for possible steering failure
Fri, Feb 6 2015Toyota is issuing a fairly tiny recall to fix a potentially serious problem in the FJ Cruiser. The company is recalling about 120 examples of the rugged SUV from the 2014 model year because the steering can fail. According to Toyota, the intermediate shaft that connects the steering wheel and steering gear box might not be welded correctly and can separate. If this happens, drivers lose steering control, which is obviously a major safety concern. However, the automaker is not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities from the problem. On the small number of affected models, Toyota will replace the intermediate shaft with a new one. TOYOTA RECALLS CERTAIN 2014 MODEL YEAR FJ CRUISER VEHICLES TORRANCE, Calif., February 5, 2015 – Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., today announced it will conduct a safety recall of approximately 120 Model Year 2014 FJ Cruiser vehicles. The steering system contains an intermediate shaft, which connects the steering wheel to the steering gear box. In the involved vehicles the intermediate shaft could have received an inadequate weld. Under some circumstances, the weld could separate, resulting in the loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash. Toyota is not aware of any crashes, injuries, or fatalities caused by this condition. Owners of the involved vehicles will receive a notification by first class mail. Toyota dealers will replace the intermediate shaft. Detailed information is available at www.toyota.com/recall and by calling Toyota Customer Service at 1-800-331-4331.
