2011 Toyota Fj Cruiser Base Sport Utility 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
New Florence, Pennsylvania, United States
Currently still driving, so actual mileage on odometer will change. FJ was purchased in Ohio and was previously titled in the state of Georgia. Original owner put under 1,000 miles on vehicle and took it back to dealer to trade...that's the story the salesmen gave me...Anyhow, I bought it "used" with around 800 miles in the spring of 2011. Before winter I had it professionally undercoated-- no rust. See link http://ducarle.com/about.html. Undercoating is injected in to door skins etc., this guy does a nice job...I have seen it work... Toyota care covered of all scheduled maintenance up to 25,000 Miles. Toyota maintained from then to current at my expense. Tire rotation every 5K and Oil (full synthetic) every 10K. All receipts available. At 30,000 miles I replaced the factory tires. General grabber AT2's that are currently on the FJ come with a 60,000 mile tread wear warranty new. Although I do not think it will transfer the tires were purchased at Discount Tire Direct and I have the receipt. If proper rotations are kept up, they should last another 30K. Last oil change and tire rotation was last performed at 51,474 Miles on 1-15-14. Over the duration of my ownership I was few miles over the 10K oil change intervals every time so the "50K Service" was done 1,474 miles over 50K. Regardless, I skipped the last tire rotation and wanted to push them to 60K and change the oil early to get back to the 5K and10K intervals...Therefore, maintenance reminder light is on in the dash...It needs a tire rotation and some gas! The other light on in the picture is the E brake light... When it was last in the Toyota garage, they tested the battery(see photo). I had no problems starting in one of the coldest winters I have ever seen...So, you may want a new battery and set of windshield wipers before the snow flies again. Picture of "multi point inspection" was from same date. Other than that, I have replaced a few bulbs and air filters...As stated, there are a few stone chips and very light scratches on the exterior. (See Pictures) Interior is clean. However, there are a couple light gray smudges in roof liner in the back from loading a mountain bike in that back once or twice before I purchased a bike rack for the hitch. Also, driver side rear head rest is stuck in the seat backwards...not sure how to get it out. FJ is currently our third vehicle and has been my daily driver for three years. I am a forester for a utility company, so it has been off road but not beaten! Mostly paved roads, but it has been up and down the mountains on right of ways and dirt roads. It rides very smooth on dirt and township pot hole infested roads! It has been a fun, reliable vehicle and hate to see it go. However, a growing family, new bass boat in the garage, and a wife that wont learn to drive a standard pushes this one out of the drive way! Good luck bidding! Clean title in hand. $500.00 Pay Pal Down will hold for 7 Days. Remaining balance in cash or certified bank check in person face to face will take it home...Thank you. Please call or message with any questions. 814-421-5787. |

Toyota Matrix not long for this world?
Thu, 18 Apr 2013According to a report from AutoGuide, Toyota doesn't have plans to replace the aging Matrix hatchback in the United States after this year. If true, the timing coincides with the replacement for the Corolla, on which the Matrix is based, with that car slated to get its first complete redesign since 2006 (2008 in the US market).
We'd love to tell you how many Matrix models were sold by Toyota in the United States last year, but the automaker chooses to bundle Matrix sales with Corolla sales, so we have no idea. That said, we have to assume sales of the hatchback don't contribute much overall to the total number of Corolla-based machines.
We're also unsure if Toyota will choose to exit the youth-oriented compact hatchback market entirely, or if the automaker will rely instead on its hybrid Prius line and Scion models like the xB and xD.
Vote to unionize Toyota Canada plant faces delay
Fri, 04 Apr 2014Volkswagen isn't the only automaker with high-profile unionization efforts afoot at one of its North American factories. Unifor, Canada's largest private-sector union, is attempting to organize Toyota's factories in Ontario, reports Reuters. A vote was originally set for next week, but Unifor has apparently found more workers eligible to vote, delaying the proceedings. It hasn't rescheduled the ballot yet, but claims there are 7,500 employees with the right to vote, with over 3,000 having already signed union cards.
Toyota is pushing against organizing, saying that workers already have a payment and benefits near the top of the industry, and noting that it has never laid off a permanent employee in Canada. Unifor has reportedly countered by saying that about a quarter of the workforce is operating under a temporary contract, which receives lower benefits.
The automaker has three factories in Ontario - two in Cambridge and one in Woodstock. To form a union, a majority of eligible employees must vote to join Unifor. If successful, they would be the first wholly owned Toyota plants in North America to be organized. Previous attempts to unionize the Japanese automaker's Canadian factories in 2001 and 2008 failed due to lack of support.
Toyota JPN Taxi Concept is a Japanese riff on an English classic
Wed, 20 Nov 2013As far as beasts of burden go, New York City's new - and much maligned - Nissan NV200 "Taxi of Tomorrow" isn't a bad one. It's space efficient, reasonably economical, and its simple construction should mean it's pretty robust over the long haul, too. But it lacks panache and a sense of occasion - let alone a sense of humor - three things this this Toyota JPN Taxi Concept we found at the Tokyo Motor Show has in spades.
Unfortunately, that's about all the information we have on this cheeky London-taxi-inspired showcar. Toyota hasn't provided much in the way of details, other than to proclaim that the five-seat JPN was "created with Japanese hospitality in mind" and it "aims to enliven city streets." Japan's livery landscape has long been occupied by traditional three-box sedans - models like the Toyota Crown and Nissan Cedric. The JPN Taxi at just over 171 inches would appear to offer both a tighter footprint and added whimsy, both of which are in the automaker's favor; we hear it hopes this concept will one day become the country's own version of America's yellow Crown Vic cab.
Toyota isn't providing powertrain specifications, but we like the airy feeling of the interior (Japanese cabs typically don't have cumbersome partitions between cabbie and passengers), the minimalist driver area with three screens, and the widescreen overhead video system for passengers that bookends the panoramic moonroof. Check it out in our gallery of live shots and let us know what you think in Comments.
