2001 Toyota Celica Gt on 2040-cars
Panama City, Florida, United States
Runs perfect, Great on gas, Very good condition, well taken care of. I've had it for 9 months, bought it off for $6000. Took to a shop and got it inspected everything, replaced engine belt, oil, flushed trans oil recently before my 1k miles trip. *No Interior problems, just a a little stain on the center console. *Exterior wise, I bought off from a girl and had pink pinstripes on the outside doors and when I tried to removed them, it left some marks. The left side I couldn't remove so I just put a decal on it to cover it up. I originally plan on fixing those minor problems, but I don't really have much time to do so. So I'm just going to sell it. -Asking for $6999 Or Best Offer. -138k mileage -power steering -AC -power breaks -tilt wheel -4 Wheel ABS Optional -dual front air bags -power window -power locks -am/fm/cd player -cruise crontrol -4 cly 1.8L -front wheel drive *ADD ONS -BRAND NEW 17" konig rims+tires -BRAND NEW aftermarket headlights+halo+LED -BRAND NEW aftermarket taillights+LED -3 spare tires(if needed) -red steering cover -red set covers CONTACT if interested: (304) 6298250 or email: vjpmatheny@hotmail.com |

Toyota launches new Passo hatchback in Japan [w/video]
Fri, 18 Apr 2014With considerable manufacturing capacity here in the United States and even a NASCAR program, it'd be all too easy to categorize Toyota as an American automaker. Only it's not. It's Japanese, of course. And back in the Japanese Domestic Market, it offers a whole range of models we'll never see in North America. Models like the Crown sedan, Noah minivan and this, the new Passo hatchback.
Sold in various markets as the Daihatsu Boon, Daihatsu Sirion, Perodua Myvi and (for a time) the Subaru Justy, the Toyota Passo is a compact hatchback that slots in size-wise between the Yaris sold in America and the Aygo offered in Europe (except the Passo is taller than either).
Power comes from a 1.0-liter engine with 69 horsepower that can be had in front- or all-wheel drive, or a 1.3 driving 95 horses to the front wheels alone. A continuously variable transmission is on duty regardless of engine choice. Front-drive models get a stop/start system, but even all-wheel-drive versions are eligible for government tax credits. That's because, though the new Passo only appears to be mildly updated, the engines have been thoroughly reworked to deliver 30-percent better fuel economy than the previous model, coming in 20-percent better than the standards being enacted by the Japanese government for next year.
Has the auto industry hit peak hybrid?
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Hybrids are known for their great fuel economy and low emissions, but it looks like given current market conditions, only about three percent of new car consumers are willing to pay the premium for them. A new study from IHS/Polk finds that the hybrid market share among overall US auto sales are falling, despite more models with the technology on sale than ever before.
The study examined new car registrations in March from 2009 through 2014. In that time, the auto industry grew from 24 to 47 hybrid models available to consumers, but market share for the powertrain remained almost stagnant in that time. As of 2009, hybrids held 2.4 percent of the market; it fell slightly to 2.3 percent in 2010 and grew to 3.3 percent in 2013. However, 2014 showed a drop back to 3 percent. Overall hybrid sales have been growing since 2010, but they just aren't keeping up with the total auto market.
According to IHS/Polk, this isn't what you would expect to see. Usually, each new model in the market brings along with it a boost in sales. The growth in hybrid models 2009 to 2014 should have shown a larger increase in share for the segment.
Toyota Aygo, Citro?n C1 to join Peugeot 108 in Geneva
Thu, 20 Feb 2014Just the other day, Peugeot took the wraps off the new 108. But its new city car, like the 107 it replaces, doesn't stand on its own. The 107 was a sister vehicle to not only the Citroën C1 but also the Toyota Aygo. So it should come as little surprise that, while Peugeot was the first to release photos and details on its version, Citroën and Toyota will also be on hand with their own versions when the veils lift on all three at the Geneva Motor Show.
We're expecting the new trio of budget-oriented hatchbacks to bear the fruits of individual efforts to distinguish themselves one from another more than their predecessors, which essentially looked the same save for different badges. But from the teaser image above, we'd venture that the Toyota version will be a further departure from the 108 than the C1 will be.
One way or another we'll have to wait and see, but for now you can view Toyota's teaser clip below, along with the press releases confirming the debut of both in Geneva next month.
