I bought the car almost 2 years ago planning to keep it for a long time, so I've put in money into it as I was going to drive another 100k miles reliably. I changed wear and tear parts proactively, and put in select STi parts to make it fun to drive. Unfortunately, plans have changed now and I am selling it. My loss is your gain. This car should be very reliable for many miles to come.
The car has a few STi modifications which give it very good, stable, and precise handling. There is absolutely zero vibration in the steering wheel and the car feels very steady at speed on the highway. The quicker ratio steering rack makes a big difference and the car is very precise.
Service at 175k miles (when I bought the car):
Timing and Serpentine belts
Water pump
Pulleys
Valve cover gaskets
All oils changed -- Motor, Transmission, Rear Differential.
Spark Plugs
New Clutch and Flywheel
Brand New StopTech Rotors and Pads, OEM replacement.
Replaced Turbo with 45k miles.
Air filter
Since above service, have changed motor oil twice, and most recently today when I took pictures of the car.
Modifications:
STi Full Steering Rack and crossmember with Whiteline bushings
STi suspension, springs and struts
STi Full exhaust
STi Uppipe and Downpipe
Gruppe N Motor, Transmission, and Pitch mounts
SAMCO hoses
Boost Gauge on A-pillar
Hardwired for Valentine 1 radar detector
Cons:
ABS doesn't work, needs rear ABS hub rings to function properly.
Right front fender has some swipe damage (see pics)
Rear bumper peeling (see pics)
Car is now taken off insurance and not being driven anymore. Last oil change was done right before taking pictures, so no miles have been put on since. Overall, it is a very clean car which will serve the next owner well. It is not perfect however and does have dings and scratches.
NOTE: car will come with stock 16 inch wheels and all season tires that will need to be replaced soon. In most pictures, the car has my winter 17 inch setup.
Winter set: ASA 17 inch rims with Pirelli Sotto Zero snow tires. Tires used one winter, basically new.

A pair of Mitsubishis, the Mazda CX-30 and electric incentives | Autoblog Podcast #673
Fri, Apr 9 2021This week's Autoblog Podcast features Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore and Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski as they debate the merits of the redesigned Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 coupes and whether or not they are distinctive and powerful enough to attract buyers. The duo spends some time discussing ongoing EV and infrastructure legislation before turning their attention to a trio of crossovers. Greg muses about the 2021 Mazda CX-30 before Jeremy talks about the refreshed 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and completely redesigned Outlander. We get nostalgic as we remember the dearly departed Pontiac GTO before wrapping the podcast up by making one more suggestion to a longtime listener who is shopping for a vehicle to replace her aging Honda Pilot. 2018 Buick Regal TourX vs. wagon competitors: How it compares on paper
Wed, Jan 31 2018To the great joy of auto enthusiasts nationwide, wagons are back! Well, at least there's a few more of them. The latest is the 2018 Buick Regal TourX, which we just had our first drive of and found to actually be quite good with pleasant handling, solid power and plenty of space. But, how does the TourX compare to other cladded wagons? Well, let's dive into the specs and fire up the ol' spreadsheet maker for Buick Regal TourX vs Subaru Outback vs Audi A4 Allroad vs VW Alltrack vs Volvo V60 Cross Country. True, some are from mainstream brands and others are from luxury marques, but Buick straddles both realms, so it's appropriate to look at them all. Of course, there's more to these cars than just the numbers, but they're still important, and in the case of this class of crossover-aping wagons, can vary more than you'd expect. So check out the specs in the chart below, which are followed by more analysis and photos of each. Discover and compare other wagons and crossovers with our Car Finder and Compare tools. Engines and Transmissions When comparing powertrains, the Buick is far-and-away the winner as far as torque is concerned, and is in a nearly three-way tie for horsepower. Its 295 pound-feet of torque is 22 lb-ft more twist than the next-most-grunty Audi A4 Allroad. And in regards to power, the Buick's 250-horsepower engine is only down 6 hp to the most-powerful Subaru and its optional naturally aspirated flat-six, and just 2 hp less than the Audi. At the bottom of the pack is the Subaru Outback with the standard naturally aspirated flat-four, which only makes 174 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. That may not seem too bad compared with the VW Golf Alltrack, which only makes 170 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque, but the VW is much lighter by between 200 and 300 pounds. Transmission-wise, there's quite a bit of variation in the group. The Regal TourX and the Volvo V60 Cross Country rely on eight-speed automatics, all Outbacks use CVTs, and the Alltrack and Allroad have dual-clutch automated manual transmissions with six and seven gears, respectively. But for people that want to shift for themselves, the only option is the Volkswagen, which offers a traditional six-speed manual transmission on the Golf Alltrack. Cargo and Interior Space One of the main reasons to buy a wagon is for the body style's large cargo capacity. And for the most space for things and stuff, you'll want to check out the Subaru and the Buick.
Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey
Wed, 05 Feb 2014According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.
