I had tried to remove upper control arms on my VW Passat and had damaged the siezed bolt. The shop willingly extracted and replaced the bolt then installed my supplied parts for a reasonable cost.

Do not go to this Brakes Plus!! They will sell you unnecessary parts!!

I left my car at this Brakes Plus location to have the front and rear brake pads replaced. I received a call from the store stating that I needed new front and rear rotors and pads. My car had less then 50,000 miles at the time and the rotors had not been previously turned/machined. I elected to not have the service performed. I came to pick up my car and found that they had snapped one of the lug nuts on a wheel... view more. I wouldn`t doubt it if they broke the lug nut on purpose after I refused the service. I then took the front rotors to a local autoparts store and they had no problem machining the rotors. The rotors miced within manufacturer`s specifications. I also elected to not do any work on the rear brakes. Well at over 90,000 miles the rear brakes are still working well.

I went back to the Brakes Plus and asked the manager if they had miced the rotors and if I could see the measurements. I also asked him if they snapped the lug nut on purpose. He was very rude and would not let me see the measurements, he also tried to make me look bad in front of the other customers. Not only did they try to sell me unnecessary parts and repairs but the manager refused to even acknowledge that they had made a mistake. I would absolutely not recommend this Brakes Plus location unless you want to pay for unnecessary part and repairs and deal with rude employees!!
