I never review businesses, but this is one that I feel has to be shared with others. I was in St George on vacation with my family and our van died while we were there. We called to get it towed and it was suggested by the tow company located right next to Nielson Automotive that we go to them. We thought it was the fuel pump that was malfunctioning and when we dropped it off my father told them that if it needed a n... view moreew transmission that we would have to scrap the van because it wouldn`t be worth the new transmission. They then called us the next morning to tell us that the fuel pump was perfectly fine and registering ~52 lbs of pressure, but that our transmission was completely shot and needed to be replaced. He then said that if I would give him the title he would waive the $50 diagnostic fee and would call it even. I had recently bought brand new tires and new that I could get more than $50 for my van. They seemed a little too eager to have our van and seemed quite shady, so we decided to tow it to another location in town that was suggested by locals. When they got our van they ran the diagnostic and said that our fuel pump was only registering ~10 lbs of pressure (not the 50 lbs told to us by Nielson Automotive) and that our transmission was completely fine. They replaced the fuel pump and now it runs perfectly well. We drove a ton in the van the next few days, including the 5 hour drive back home and we haven`t had any further problems since then. If our transmission was shot then there is no explanation as to why our van is now magically performing perfectly without even touching the transmission. They simply wanted our van title for $50! Unbelievable! Neilson Automotive in St. George, Utah is either completely incompetent or criminally dishonest. Either one would give me great pause when considering if I should go to them. I would highly recommend anyone considering them to go to another place. It simply isn`t worth the risk. Businesses like this are the ones that give a bad rap to the mechanic profession. It is extremely sad and disappointing that someone can be that blatantly dishonest.

Bruce is honest and does a fantastic job. He stands behind the work. I would have never take my car elsewhere if i hadn`t moved to New York.
