Best Shop Experience I have ever had!!!!!
About 3 1/2 weeks ago I took my Chevy Blazer to Aamco in Tigard. After they had my truck for an entire day I got the phone call that my transmission was completely shot and needed rebuilt! This is a minimum of a 3000.00 dollar bill. I had recently had my regular service done at Fast Lane as always and thought I would call and ask a few questions about what they saw during my service. Dave answered and after a brief c... view moreonversation he gave me the advise to call Tigard Transmission and have them look at it also. I did just that!! Tigard Transmission was able to fix my truck, and my tranny was not shot!! It was 95% electronic components! I highly recommend Tigard Transmission!!! They care about their customers, they listen, they know what they are doing and they do a fantastic job!! Russ, Chris, Dave and Ken you guys are awesome!! I will recommend this shop to anyone!!!

Good work, very resonable rates!!!!
I recently had to have my transmission rebuilt on my GMC Yukon. These guys did the work in less than a week and the bill ended up being less than they quoted me. I also got a three year warranty. Most the other shops I called only offered a one year. This shop has a new owner and the shop has been totally remodeled. I didn`t know to much about them before the current owner. But I can say that Ken the new owner ... view moreand their staff is great. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for transmission or four wheel drive work.

had my 98 grand cherokee in to have the tranny rebuilt` take it home and two days later it dies on me. so i call up them up to see if it could be from them, they tell me""NO"" so i bring it into a shop and they tell me that the crank position sensor was routed wrong and it stretched and broke from tigard transmission. now im in it a extra $250! come to find out my computer is also blown. so i take it to N.W. Jeep and... view more i have to replace the computer because tigard transmissions rebuilt valve body had fried it! after several calls to tigard they say that they will not cover anything other than the tranny work that has to be done! they want me to pay to have it towed over to their shop for the warranty work and for me to pay for the computer that they fried! oh and if wayne says he will call you back on an issue, DONT BELIEVE HIM< HES A LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Work
very friendly, and honest people working there, i called around to get quotes on rebuilding my transmission in my chrysler minivan. tigard transmssion was the cheapest so i went there. they called me about and hour after i droped it off and told me it was done. i was surprised to find out that it was not my transmission causing me trouble, it was my throttle position sensor. they replaced it and it fixed my probl... view moreem. they saved me about 1500 dollars. they could have rebuilt my transmission and then told me the sensor was why it went bad, and charged me for both but they didnt. i am very happy with their honesty its very refreshing.

NEW OWNERSHIP!!!!!!!!! VERY CLEAN!!!!!!!!!
I have been coming to this shop for a long time now and I have always had a good experience. however I must say that the new owner seems to take pride in every aspect of this shop. not only did he warranty my transmission that was rebuilt here before he took over the shop but he took the entire thing apart and fixed it the way he would have done it to begin with. I didn`t have to question anything he said at all. ... view more I did pay for the parts he covered the labor, i felt this was fair since my transmission was out of warranty. Ken Root (new owner) Is very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable with the whole process. I am not saying the old owner was bad however there is a huge difference in how the shop is run its a good thing people just give them a try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The most trust worthy Mechanics Alive
let me start by saying WOW! i had my car towed into their shop because it would not go anywhere. they called me at work the next morning letting me know that i had lost a lot of fluid in my transmission and that is why my car wouldn`t move. i was told that a cooler line came loose and that`s why i lost the fluid. they informed me that they filled it up and it worked fine now, but it may have cause damage to the tr... view moreansmission. so i payed for the fluid and went on my way. they were right it worked fine. and i never had a problem with it until now (5 years later) so i took it back to them and they had told me that i need to rebuild my transmission. the funny thing was is that every one there remembered me and my car from five years ago. i didn`t even have to tell them that i came in before. that was very reassuring. they fixed my transmission and it works perfectly again

BUYERS BEWARE
I have been to Tigard Transmission twice now. The first time was in 2005 when my `92 Explorer transmission went out. I chose them because the reviews I read said they were honest and cheap. They did a full rebuild for $1,300 which I thought was a great deal. They did it prompt and within the range they quoted.

20,000 miles later I had transmission problems. I took the car back to Tigard Transmissions an... view mored they ""fixed it"" for $150. One day later the problem came back. I took the car back again and they ""fixed it"" this time for free. 2 days later the problem came back. I took the car BACK to them and they said that the Torque converter went out and that was what the problem was. $550 for a new converter. Picked the ""Fixed"" car up and the overdrive did not work. Took it BACk AGAIN to Tigard Transmission and after a week of them basically doing nothing I dropped in to find out what was going on with my car. They told me that if I wanted it to run like it should I would need a whole new rebuild on my Transmission.

I was done with them and will never bring my business back. The owner, Wayne, does not have a clue how to provide customer service. He was unclear about what was going on with the car and overall did not seem to care. He not once called me to give me an update on my vehicle... I had to call every two days to find out what was going on. I took my car to Tigard Transmissions 4 times in one month and that?ˆ™s exactly how long it took them to figure out what was wrong with it. My car is not new, it is not a hybrid, it is a 1992 Ford Explorer. This is not rocket science.

My first experience with this place was good but I feel like a rebuilt transmission on a non- daily driver should last longer than 20,000 miles.

I cannot recommend this place and will never bring my business back. BUYERS BEWARE.

Best transmission service you can trust
My transmission broke down at Tigard on my way from Seattle to San Diego. I found Tigard Transmissons next to I5. It`s unbelievable that the job`s done in 4 hrs. They have over 160 already rebuilt units in stock and, voila, just R&R with a very reasonable price and I was back on my trip. Thank you guys, you`re great and awesome ! Richard Erickson

Saw an opportunity to cheat me.. then did it.
Transmission went out (2002 Intrepid) on the freeway, and as I was pulling it over, I noticed the oil light on and a disconcerting noise from the engine. When I called them to arrange to drop off the car, I mentioned the engine light/noise, and asked them to let me know before making the repair if there appeared to be an engine problem (so I wouldn`t waste money fixing the tranny, then face an engine overhaul.. car`s... view more not worth it). I even had them note these issues on the work order. When I picked up the car, the engine noise was still there. I asked if they had noticed it, the manager said ""Yep."" I said it sounded sort of like a blown head gasket; to which he replied ""Yep, that`s what it is."" I proceeded to ask why they would rebuild a transmission on a 2002 Dodge with a bad engine... noting that I`d asked them to inform me of any apparent problem unrelated to the transmission. He said, ""No, we fixed what you authorized; that`s an unrelated problem."" After a short argument, he screamed at me and threw me out of their shop, refusing to give me a copy of the work order. The car is now undriveable, and I have a court case on my hands. Use these guys at your own peril..

Terrible customer service, damage to car
Yes, Tigard Transmission gave us a good price in comparison to other places. However, we left with more damage to our car than we had originally gone in with, still had to pay the same price, and they will not work something out with us at all. They are placing the blame everywhere but on them, and will not budge. Also, while talking to them calmly and professionally, I did not get the same service in return. I w... view moreas talked down to and hung up on. I will never return to this place, and recommend that no one else does either.
