2013 Scion Frs With Innovate Supercharger on 2040-cars

I am sad to say it but it looks like the time has come to put my beloved 86 up for sale. It has been an amazing 2 years but with my family growing it just doesn’t make sense to have 2 rwd 2 door sports cars (my wife leased a 370z and since it’s a lease we can’t really get rid of it). I have put so much love and care into this car and it has never let me down.
What you are looking at is no ordinary Scion FRS, this is a supercharged, purpose built, sports car. My goal for this car was to build it as I thought it should have been from the factory. Every mod was handpicked to give it an OEM fit and finish while enhancing the vehicle in every aspect. This can be seen all the way from the choice in forced induction (the Innovate Supercharger’s power band screams refinement as it pins you back) all the way to the Tom’s taillights. Take note that this is not a garage warrior car. I spent a lot of time finding the best people I could to work on my vehicle. The wheels, springs, and alignment were all done by the guys at RT_Tuning (check them out, they have amazing service and do great work) and the Innovate Supercharger was installed and tuned by Mike at Moto-East. Mike is one of the leading 86 tuners in the area if not the entire east coast and has been a pleasure to work with. He runs the Innovate Supercharger on his shop car so I knew I was in good hands. To this day I have not stopped getting compliments about my car and I still look back at it and smile every time it’s parked. I am confident that I will probably never own a better drivers car in my life time which saddens me but as they say it is better to have love and lost then never to have loved at all. I will do my best to list out every mod on the car with its purchase price to give you an understanding of what went into this build and understand the price. If you have any questions about the car or want to schedule time to look at it let me know. Basic Info:
Mods List:
Total- $7735* *This total does not include any install costs or maintenance. I had all the work professionally done but left that out of pricing in case a buyer wanted to see the raw cost for them to do the work themselves. Asking price for complete car- $27,000 Again if you have any questions post them here or shoot me a PM. I am accepting offers but am in no rush to sell this car. I highly recommend the shops I have worked with, R/T Tuning, Moto-East, and AZP Installs. If you are interested in getting any work done or would like to ask them about my car let me know and I will try and get you in touch with the right people. |

Toyota recalling 11,200 Scion iQ models over faulty passenger sensors
Wed, 07 Nov 2012Toyota has announced a voluntary recall of 11,200 Scion iQ models from the 2012 and 2013 model years. According to the manufacturer, the problem with these pint-sized hatchbacks concerns the front passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) weight sensor cables.
The OCS sensors in the front passenger seat control the operation of things like the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioner. In these affected models, the cables for these sensors located in the seat track can become damaged as the passenger seat slides forward and backward. And if the cables are damaged, the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioner may not function properly.
No injuries or crashes have been reported in conjunction with this issue.
Scion iM Concept bows, production version confirmed for US
Thu, Nov 20 2014Scion has officially pulled the covers off its iM Concept, which is, in reality, a slightly modified version of the Toyota Auris that is already sold outside the United States. It's also a model that is going into production for North America, says Scion, minus, we'd guess, a good bit of the overly aggressive ground effects bits, slammed suspension and oversize wheels. A production iM has been confirmed for the upcoming New York Auto Show, where Scion is also promising a second new production debut, as well. After a substantial lull in its new product cadence (barring the FR-S), it looks like Scion is once again intent on cementing its position as the entry point into the Toyota brand, promising three new models in the next three years. Scion tells us that iM's name is derived from the first letters of the words 'individuality' and 'modern.' More important details like price, powertrain and on-sale date should come later in 2015, but Scion has at least say it "anticipates that a price under $20,000 could make this car enticing to youthful customers," all of which makes it sound like the second coming of the Toyota Matrix to us. Feel free to read more in the press release below and gaze upon the concept in all its Incrediblue glory above. From Concept to Commitment - Scion Announces New Product Plans Production Version of iM Concept to Hit Showrooms Next Year TORRANCE, Calif., (Nov. 19, 2014) – Start planning that next adventure; a new ride is on its way. After revealing the iM Concept car today at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Scion announced that a production version of the versatile five-door compact hatchback will be coming to dealerships in 2015. Fans will get a first look at the road-ready, sporty ride – and another new Scion model – at the New York International Auto Show in April. "The two models we're debuting in New York next spring are just the beginning for Scion," said Scion Vice President Doug Murtha. "We plan to bring three new products in three years to our showrooms, offering a variety of exciting options for current and new Scion customers." As a test laboratory for Toyota, Scion attracts those with an independent spirit and desire to stand apart from the crowd. But many of today's consumers between 18-34 years old also value a degree of practicality to support their self-reliance and more mobile lifestyles. Faced with greater independence and less disposable income, they value fun and sensibility in a vehicle choice.
Here's the 2017 Toyota 86: Don't call it a Scion
Fri, Feb 5 2016After we heard the bells toll for Scion yesterday, we told you that the Scion FR-S will transform into a Toyota. That's right: just a rebadging. The practical question is, which badge? The philosophical question, which we can't answer yet, is where it'll sit in the pantheon of front-engined, rear-drive Toyota sports cars, of which the Supra was the last one to visit our shores, from 1992 until 1998 in its fourth generation. And as if summoned by this conversation, this camouflaged prototype appeared. Our best guess is that this is going to be the US-bound, Toyota-badged version of the Subaru BRZ and all the other 86-badged variants: the Toyota 86 (in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and South Africa), Toyota GT86 (in Europe and New Zealand again), and Toyota FT86 (in Nicaragua and Jamaica). For simplicity's sake, let's call it a Toyota 86. Peer into the 86's swirly camo, and it looks like the car is going in for a light refresh. The lower intake in the front fascia, if it's representative of a production part, adopts a different shape and is considerably wider and narrower than either the BRZ or FR-S units. It also appears that the turn signal and its surround are reshaped, different than any of the current variants. Changes out back appear mild. The area around the license plate seems to be smoother, and there is likely a predictable light restyle of the bumper skin and defuser under the camo. We don't expect a significant power increase, and certainly not a turbocharger (sorry!), but crossing fingers wouldn't do any harm. Related Video:
