After much consideration and soul searching we have made the decision to sell our 2008 Saturn Redline Turbo. This is truely our weekend, date night, top down just have some fun convertible. The car has been kept in our climate controlled garage and never driven in any messy weather. As such, it does not have any issues of a daily driven vehicle. We did get caught in a rainstorm at our house in mountains a couple times in the past so it has been wet...but this is about it. I normally keep the car covered in the garage. As you can tell I am very picky and I also keep up all the maintenance without fail. The car just had a full service and all fluids except anitfreeze done this past spring. I am not going to say the car is perfect or is a "10" as it is 5 years old. When you drive a new car off the lot is it not perfect anymore. The paint is beautiful and may have some very slight road rash on it but if so is very minor. I understand it is hard buying a car on the internet as I am a muscle car collector. However, I will be happy to answer any of the questions I can directly and honestly. As of today and the time of this ad I do not know of anything the car needs. The tires only have 1440 miles on them. I did change the factory Goodyears to Toyo's when I replaced them last year. They tires are like new. Also, I added the "Euro" verson of the windscreen deflector instead of using the plexiglass or mesh units offered here. The glass unit for the Opel GT is much more expensive but it is very superior. There is no need to removed it and replace it everytime the top goes up and down. The car drives straight with absolutely no shakes, shimmies or rattles. All of the lights work as expected and the door seals, tops seals, trunk and hoods seals are excellent and in nearly perfect condition. All mechanicals work excellent and as they should. The AC is ice cold. Wheels have no rubs or scratches. Lights and lenses are clear and bright. As I said, I am very picky and they car has been kept as such. I am willing to pick up at Phx Sky Harbor if you want to fly in and drive home or will help make sure it is loaded properly if you choose to ship. Feel very confident in this purchase. It never fails to get compliments when we take it out. Honestly, it does get more comments than our 2014 Camaro SS convertible and half of my old muscle cars. We really do not want to sell but were are getting ready for another one of my collector cars to come. It has been in a 4 year resoration and I want it in our main garage. A chopped-up General Motors EV1 shell sold for $23,662
Tue, Apr 7 2020Despite not having a VIN, a powertrain, a frame, or any doors, a decrepit General Motors EV1 shell recently sold for $23,662.10 on govdeals.com. Sold by the University of Cincinnati, the car — or what remains of it — is headed to an electric vehicle collection called The Beata Electric Motor Carriage Collection. Technically, the GM EV1 was the first mass-produced and purposed-built electric car in America. When it was released in 1996 for the 1997 model year, however, GM strictly leased the car as part of a "real-world engineering evaluation." The limited production run was meant to test real life with an EV and judge the interest from the public. GM only built 1,117 units, all of which were recalled, and most of them ultimately were sent to the crusher. But a select few were stripped of their powertrains and donated to universities and museums for educational purposes. One of those non-functioning cars made it to the University of Cincinnati in 2008. The post says it "has been in storage since," but it's not clear if the car sat in storage untouched or was stored and used by the university. According to EpiclyEpicEthan1, who posted the sales listing to r/cars, the car was purchased by The Beata Electric Motor Carriage Collection in Colorado. The Beata (derived from the Latin word for blessed) collection is a gathering of '90s OEM electric vehicles and a general EV hub. The website says the vehicles are used for testing, diagnostics, education, events, and overall preservation and documentation. The rare and niche collection also includes a 1993 Dodge/Chrysler TEVan, a 1997 Honda EV Plus, a 1999 Dodge/Chrysler EPIC EV, a 1998 Ford Ranger EV, a 2002 Toyota RAV4 EV LongRanger III, a Tesla Roadster, a 1998 Nissan Altra EV, a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 EV, a 2011 Nissan Leaf, and a 2012 Tesla Model S. Beata also has several other projects under construction such as the 2000 Toyota RXT-G Prototype, a 1997 RAV4 coupe EV prototype, the 1995 AC Propulsion eCivic EV, a 1995 ACP RXT-G Prototype LongRanger II, a 1995 ACP RXT-G Prototype LongRanger I, and a GM EV1. Beata acts as a resource for EV1 owners and helps place parts it finds and doesn't need. The parts it does need are put into building a working EV1. Beata's current EV1, which is 80 percent complete, is made up from more than 50 different parts sources, including from all three versions of the EV1, the 1994 LPF4 PreView "Impact" series, the 1997 EV1, and the 1999 EV1.
GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k
Fri, 08 Aug 2014General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.
