Famous for sophistication and durability, this spectacular sedan features an acrylic white exterior with a tan hardtop vinyl roof. As a 1987 model, it is the first year that the Rolls Royce Silver Spur prominently displayed the now famous Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament supported by the one-piece air-dam. The interior features tan butter leather surrounded by magnificent burr walnut woodwork throughout, including door panels, veneer picnic trays in backseat, instrument panel with cross-banding and boxwood inlay and a two-toned steering wheel.

The engine boasts a 220-hp, 6.75-liter aluminum V-8 with Bosch fuel injection and anti-lock brakes on an extended wheel base, chrome wheels and has only 71,535 original miles. With only 1600 of the 1987 Silver Spur produced, this car comes with nearly every conceivable option and is considered one of the best examples of this final series of Rolls Royce. Rolls Royce no longer exists as it had for nearly 100 years as it is now owned by BMW. The care and craftsmanship that went into building this motorcar, when Rolls Royce was truly building the world’s finest motorcar in Crewe, England are far superior to those they are mass-producing today!

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe Waterspeed Collection is a real land yacht

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

There aren't very many better places to show the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé Waterspeed Collection than at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Not only is this aquatic-themed land yacht parked on the Concept Car Lawn appropriately very near the Pacific Ocean, it's being seen by some of the most wealthy car enthusiasts in the world on one afternoon.
The car actually debuted in May in Europe, but Rolls-Royce decided to show it again to West Coast customers. This luxury droptop is dedicated to former British waterspeed record-holder Sir Malcolm Campbell, hence the name. Campbell used a boat powered by a Rolls-Royce R engine to reach 126.33 miles per hour in 1937 on a lake in Italy and break the old milestone. Later, he took the same craft to 129.5 mph to further establish his dominance.
The Phantom Waterspeed takes inspiration from these accomplishments with a two-tone look that mixes shining Maggiore Blue exterior paint and a brushed steel tonneau cover to replace the normal teak. The blue color scheme even extends to the engine and interior trim in combination with contrasting Windchill Grey leather. Rolls isn't building many of these marine-inspired leviathans; check one out on the lawn at Pebble Beach in our gallery.

Rolls-Royce celebrates History of Rugby with special Wraith

Wed, Sep 23 2015

With its latest special edition, Rolls-Royce celebrates the history of rugby – not only the game, but also the English school where the game got its start. The unique vehicle was created by the company's Bespoke customization division. It gets its start as the Wraith fastback coupe, but applies a number of unique details that ought to make Anglophiles and fans of the game alike swoon. To set this Wraith apart, the Bespoke team gave it a white paintjob to evoke the team jerseys of the Rugby School in Warwickshire, where William Webb Ellis laid down the foundations of the game in 1823. The special edition also features a green coachline, with a red rose that adorns the school's crest and was – according to legend – borrowed (with permission) from the emblem of Queen Elizabeth I. A unique set of 21-inch split-five-spoke alloys complete the exterior treatment, while the interior has been adorned with off-white leather complimented by navy and red trim, piano black veneer, and an English rose motif. The automaker even partnered with legendary rugby-ball manufacturer Gilbert to create a small run of balls out of the same leather that trims the interior, and embroidered by Rolls-Royce's own craftsmen. Of course not everyone – even those who can afford a Rolls-Royce – will be taken with this particular example. But like other specials from Goodwood, the extent of the customization goes to show what customers can expect when ordering their own. It was this spirit of individuality that has inspired the creation of two Great British institutions – Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and the game of rugby. Celebrating the illustrious history of the latter, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is delighted to introduce the Rolls-Royce 'Wraith – History of Rugby', a unique creation from the company's Bespoke Design Studio in Goodwood, England. Usually tasked with reflecting the individual taste and lifestyle of a bold new generation of customer, Rolls-Royce's Bespoke team has drawn inspiration from the rich history of the quintessentially English sport to create a unique car.
