Porsche 1988 944 Turbo on 2040-cars
West Nyack, New York, United States
This example is in excellent condition with 49,800 original miles. The car is stored with a cover on a trickle charger indoors. It currently has 18" Turbo Twist wheels on it with a set of 16 ""phone dial" wheels and tires included with the sale in superb condition.
Speedwerks is the Porsche shop in Nyack NY that cares for this car. They have performed recent work that included replacing the timing belt and rollers, changing the suspension over to that of a Turbo S and an oil change an alignment was also done. This car has not been chipped or tracked and is simply in fantastic condition. The radio is original and there are NO dash cracks whatsoever. Speedwerks also installed a new stainless steal exhaust seen in the listings photographs. This is not the cheapest 944 Turbo you will find however it is one of the nicer one's in this country and is mechanically and cosmetically outstanding in every way. There is a scratch on the right rear quarter panel and the AC could blow colder but this would be a wonderful car for any collector. This is a ton of Porsche for the money and made extremely well. Thank you for your interest. Good luck. |

A beastly 1979 Porsche 930 is unleashed by Petrolicious
Thu, Nov 12 2015The 911 Turbo held a special place in Porsche's lineup for decades. Much of the mystique came from its performance potential, but that huge capability also required a deft hand and foot to keep things in check. These days even the most basic 911 packs turbos, but Grant Karnes and his 1979 Porsche 930 demonstrate why the early models remain classics in the latest video from Petrolicious. Karnes says he gets attention from everyone he passes in his 930, and it's easy to understand why. Even before the coupe comes into view, the upgraded, turbocharged engine pops and crackles with a wonderfully raw sound. People then see the Porsche's classic combination of wide fenders and a big rear spoiler. Karnes also adds a vintage racing vibe with Martini decals on the hood and doors, and his license plate tells folks exactly what kind of machine this is. Plus, if you happen to spot this car at night, the exhaust can shoot bursts of flames. Porsches are a fairly common subject in Petrolicious' videos, and they run the gamut from well-worn classics to heavily modded canyon carvers. Karnes' 930 leans more in the latter direction but still maintains a vintage look. He promises the coupe is always exciting to drive, and this clip does a fantastic job of showing why. Related Video:
Watch Porsche legend Jeff Zwart frolic in the snow in his 356
Wed, 14 May 2014Racing driver Jeff Zwart picked up a 1953 Porsche 356 Pre A to use as a historical prop in a Cayenne commercial, then decided to keep it when the filming was done. Then, explaining to filmmaker Will Roegge that his vintage toy does really well in slippery conditions, Zwart throws it around in the Colorado snow - on pencil-thin studded tires on 16-inch wheels - to prove the point.
Don't expect roostertails in this winter wonderland video, however; with just about 60 horsepower at sea level, gumption drops to about 40 hp when playing at 9,000 mountainous feet. But that's still plenty to work as a testament to the phrase, "If you've got it, flaunt it," and you can watch it below.
Leno steals Porsche 918 from The Quail for latest Garage episode
Sat, 31 Aug 2013Just because he's a famous celebrity doesn't mean Jay Leno got to take it easy at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance earlier this month. Having already spent some time with the gorgeous Cadillac Elmiraj Concept and Ed Welburn for a recent episode of Jay Leno's Garage, the late night talk show host also got to put a few miles on a prototype version of the Porsche 918 Spyder.
Like a usual episode of JLG, Leno first goes over the details of the car with Frank Walliser, head of the 918 Spyder's development, before taking it out for spin. Check out the full episode, which is posted below, to hear what Walliser has to say about the car. More importantly, though, crank up your computer's volume and let the car's high-revving engine and amazing exhaust note do plenty of talking for itself.
