 PORSCHE 944 CABRIOLET CONVERTIBLE ROADSTER.
OWN A PORSCHE THAT WILL TURN HEADS,
but NOT DESTROY YOUR POCKETBOOK

Porsche made very few factory 944 convertibles.  (Cabriolet).

This one is an example of one that has been meticulously maintained with only 89,000+ ORIGINAL miles. Serviced by Dumont’s in OKC since 2009.

ORIGINAL MANUALS, INCLUDING SECURITY RADIO AND EQUALIZER BOOKS!!

ORIGINAL TOOL SATCHEL with TIRE and OTHER TOOLS!   CLEAN HARDLY WORN CARPET both in TRUNK and interior.

1   ORIGINAL BOSE stereo system WITH EQUALIZER STILL WORKS PERFECT BUT CD only plays some CD’s for some reason.
2. ORIGINAL DOOR ALARMS with red blinking door lock and dash when armed
3 New front ball joints, struts
4 Replaced alternator, timing belt, shaft belt, cam belt   ~79,000  under 3 years ago.

New engine timing and balance belts
New front lower control arms and ball joints
New front wheel bearings
NEW TIRES!! only 1000 miles on tires
Alignment

Brake pads replaced in last 10,000 miles

Engine
208 crank hp, or greater, as the S2 was one of the stronger
It still feels to me as strong today at 89000 original miles as it did when off the showroom

Exterior cosmetics
Very good, not perfect.
The car had been repaired and painted in the rear driver side, but not noticeable to anyone but someone in the business.
A couple of small dings and a small dent in rear that looks like a designed detail, so no one ever notices it.

Interior
Excellent condition, all leather, but driver seat has a small hole left by a pencil I think.
The dash is pristine — I keep it covered with a Dashmat, but has no aging or cracks etc.
Comes with the stock  seats.  The driver side door storage panel has come out of its socket, (see picture) and I haven’t taken time to remove screws to reinsert.

The 2014 Ruf RCT offers rear-drive action with 911 Turbo fun

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Ruf has 37 years of experience of turning Porsches into even higher performance machines. For the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it's unveiling the RCT, or Ruf Carrera Turbo, which offers power to split the difference between Porsche's 911 Turbo and Turbo S models.
The RCT starts with a unique body kit with a new front air dam and drastically changed rear deck that combines both a small spoiler and air intake. Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter flat-six with 525 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque paired to either a seven-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission. That gives the Ruf a 5-hp and 15-lb-ft advantage over Porsche's own Turbo but is still less powerful than the full Turbo S. The RCT sprints to 62 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and to a top speed of 196 mph.
However, the Ruf's big advantage is that it offers buyers the choice of either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while Stuttgart's turbo models are only available spinning all four wheels. The RCT can also offers upgrades like an integrated roll cage and custom suspension packages, should the buyer be so inclined to splash out on racing kit.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS getting all-new atmospheric engine

Thu, Jan 15 2015

Porsche surprised many of its most puritanical enthusiasts when it took a decidedly more usable approach with the current 911 GT3. But when the new GT3 RS debuts, it promises to be a much more extreme departure. And a big part of that comes down to the engine. At the Detroit Auto Show this week, Auto Express spoke with Porsche R&D chief Wolfgang Hatz – who also happens to be head of engine and transmission development for the entire Volkswagen group. Hatz revealed that Porsche has developed a completely new engine for the GT3 RS, and while previous rumors suggested the RS would go turbo to fill in for the lack of a GT2 (and make the most out of its displacement), Hatz confirmed that it will be naturally aspirated. Considering that Porsche rarely goes downwards when it comes to 911 engine displacement, only upwards, we'd expect the new RS to pick up where the previous 4.0 left off. The new GT3 RS is also expected to pack a more extreme suspension, aero and stripped-out interior, but those hoping for an old-school approach may be disappointed to learn that the new RS will (at least at launch) only be available with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission – though a manual version could follow if there's enough demand. In a related development, Hatz also hinted that the Cayman GT4 could debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, with an even more extreme approach than the previous Cayman R. The new top-of-the-line Cayman is reportedly being developed to comply with GT4 class racing regulations but be fully homologated for road use. Related Video:

Watch a Group B Porsche 911 tear up the 'Ring in the snow

Thu, Jan 28 2016

The Nurburgring is a motorsports fantasyland during the best weather, but it looks even more exciting when the snow starts to fall. While the course isn't open to the general public during the winter, this Porsche 911 SC RS rally car managed a lap of the snow-covered Grand Prix Circuit, sliding the whole way around. The 911 SC RS isn't as famous as Porsche racers like the 917, but it has an interesting story. Porsche's development of the 959 was slow in the '80s, and this coupe was the company's stopgap for Group B rallying. The SC RS used the 911 Turbo's wider body, suspension, and brakes, but the car had a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter flat-six to drive the rear wheels. It couldn't compete against all-wheel drive beasts like the Audi Quattro, but one managed third place in the 1985 Tour de Corse in France. The SC RS sounds great in this video, and it looks even better kicking up snow. There's so much accumulation that you can't tell which way the track goes, but driver Patrick Simon knows his way around. After watching this clip, we think the 'Ring should unleash a few more old rally cars on the track for a new racing series next winter.
