PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 1982 YEAR MODEL, NOT 1980 -- I HAD TO ENTER 1980 TO GET AROUND THE VIN# REQUIREMENT FOR EBAY. THIS IS A GREY-MARKET 930 PRODUCED IN GERMANY AND IMPORTED TO THE USA BY THE FIRST OWNER IN 1982.

Correct VIN # is WP0ZZZ93ZCS000651
80,000 miles -- do the math, that's only ~2,500 miles driven a year on average.
The car was owned by a friend in CA from 1982 to 2002. Always garaged and covered, and rarely driven. Never in the rain or winter. Only recreational use, NEVER raced or wrecked.
I bought the car from him in 2002, and invested over $30,000 in performance upgrades, bringing the car up to date and creating a very POWERFUL and FAST car with excellent handling.
Since I've owned it, the car has been regularly serviced, maintained, tuned and detailed by Speedsport Tuning on Miry Brook Road in Danbury, CT (Google them!).  The owner of SST will attest that this is a very special vehicle in remarkable condition and delivers breathtaking performance. References available upon request. Complete service history since 1982 available.
Car has power windows, seats and sunroof.
Air conditioning works very well and was re-charged in 2012.

Porsche acquires Kyalami race track at auction

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

With more victories under its belt than any other manufacturer, you could say, in a figurative sense at least, that Porsche owns countless numbers of race tracks around the world. But here we're not talking about figuratively owning a track - we're talking about literally buying one. And Porsche has just bought Kyalami.
Kylamai, for those unfamiliar, is a grand prix circuit near Johannesburg in South Africa. Between 1967 and 1985, and again in '92 and '93, it was home to the South African Grand Prix, and has since hosted a variety of local and lower-level international races, but apparently fell on hard times. As a result, the track's owners - listed as Universal Property Professionals - put it up for auction. Bidders had to deposit four million Rand (about $380k) to participate, but after just 50 seconds, the auction was over.
The winning bid was placed - via telephone from the local press launch for the Macan - by Porsche South Africa CEO Toby Venter, who bid a reported 205 million rand (about $19.5 million) to take over the complex. The German automaker's South African division reportedly intends to keep the track open for racing, but could also be expected to use the facility for testing, customer track days and such moving forward.

Ex-F1 driver Mark Webber has tough life, shakes down Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Fri, Apr 24 2015

It's good work if you can get it, and Mark Webber has got it. The works driver for the Porsche World Endurance Championship Team was apparently asked to moonlight in a video shoot for the company's new 911 GT3 RS at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, and what do you know, he complied. They don't appear to be going too quickly, and a racing driver asked to rein in what will be one of the most blistering cars we'll see this year must be very serious work, because Webber doesn't appear to be smiling at all. We'll guess there's a big smile on the inside, though, and some tales to tell to his Porsche teammates at the next WEC race. Maybe the next time we see the 911 GT3 RS at the 'Ring, it will be doing the timed lap we're all waiting for. Related Video:

German judge 'inclined to dismiss' hedge fund lawsuit against Porsche

Fri, Feb 27 2015

Last year, around two dozen investors, including hedge funds, leveled a 1.4 billion euro ($1.95 billion at the time) lawsuit against Porsche in connection with the automaker's attempted takeover of Volkswagen in 2008. The Stuttgart Regional Court dismissed the case. Around 19 of those plaintiffs are heading back to court to appeal the ruling and still hope to get 1.2 billion euros ($1.4 billion). However, according to one German judge, the chances for success aren't any better this time around. "On balance it's our view that we consider the lawsuit, or the appeal, to be unpromising for several reasons," Gerhard Ruf, a judge in Stuttgart, said to Reuters. "We are inclined to dismiss the case." The court's ruling on the appeal will be announced on March 26. The investors' case hinges on Porsche's strategy surrounding the botched takeover. The sports car maker said that it wasn't trying to control VW, when in fact it was. These hedge funds had bet against Volkswagen stock, but the share price surged when Porsche's plan inevitably came to light. Investors have sued the sports car company multiple times since then in attempts to recoup billions of dollars. However, none of the lawsuits have been successful, whether attempted in the US or Germany. Former Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking and and CFO Holger Haerter might still stand trial for the alleged stock manipulation, though.
