This is a rare opportunity to own a unique Porsche 914 conversion. This is a solid 1974 Porsche 914 with rotary conversion. Car sounds and runs great. Car has 200hp and weighs only 2000lbs giving this car weight-to-power  ratio of 10:1! The wankel rotary 13B Street Ported engine was professionally rebuilt, installed, and tuned. Over $11k spent on this conversion. The whole car was completely strippped, rust prepped and repainted. This car was meant to be street driven as well as on the track. Very fast and powerful. Very agile as well with tight steering. KYB Shocks with 200lb springs in rear. The rotary sound coming out of the porsche muffler sounds amazing. Car feels very tight on the road as well.

This is the short list of things done to the car:
The power comes from a Mazda rotary 13B engine that was built up by Atkins Rotary Specialists in Puyallup, WA. The engine has a street port intake and stock exhaust port. The engine produces exactly 200 hp with a Weber SP 50 side-draft carb and Racingbeat intake manifold & custom exhaust header that runs into a SS 930 muffler. The car was completely gutted and what little signs of surface rust have been sandblasted, acid treated and sealed with Metal-Loc primer. This was a Southern Nevada car so it was not rusty, and even the battery tray area was still intact. The drivers compartment and engine bay/rear suspension has been reinforced with 1.5" x .120" roll bar tubing. Then the interior/ engine bay / trunk were sprayed with epoxy bed liner. The exterior was sprayed with SEM Hot-Rod Black and Centari Spitfire Orange both in a matte finish. The bottom pan, front compartment and wheel wells are in original condition, except for the addition of a massive Afco aluminum radiator in the nose.

This is a very clean car. The interior was re-upholstered to near original. All the mechanical bushings, guides, cables, and brake components have been replaced. The transmission has been torn down and gone through, all syncros and gears are in good shape. Essentially everything to operate the car has been replaced or rebuilt with new parts.

Recent Tune-up including new spark plugs, new fuel pump, fuel regulator, fuel pressure gauge, carburetor fully rebuilt and cleaned and jetted. All new bushings in the entire shifter linkage system. Car shifts great in all gears. Steering is very tight and nice.

Car is not perfect it needs some minor things such as: Turn signals are not working although the flasher button works, possibly the switch went bad on steering column. The windshield wipers sometimes work, steering column switch probably the culprit. The horn does not work. The windshield has a couple of chips in glass. The paint is not perfect, and there are two spots that the paint flaked off (see pics). I have new weather seals for the targa top, ready to be installed.

Title on hand. Anyone is welcomed to come see the car in person and inspect.

Porsche Fire and Ice is chilling art born of flames

Wed, 01 Jan 2014

Porsche held a contest inviting ten filmmakers to riff on the tagline for the Panamera, "Thrilling Contradictions," in a 60-second film. The winner was an entry called Fire and Ice by director Ross Cohen, a concept that uses just those two elements in a premise as simple as it is rewarding. For his efforts, Cohen will receive a trip to the Chicago International Film Festival, and you might see the short in the pre-movie advertisements in a theater served by Spotlight Cinema Networks.
Porsche did this kind of thing just two years ago, when it asked filmmakers to illustrate the idea of "Everyday Magic". The winner of that contest, Michael Korbel's It's a Magical Life, followed the journey of a young man to husband and father from the perspective of the trunk of a 911. You'll find that video as well as Fire and Ice below.

1978 Porsche 930 in Australia spans generations on Petrolicious

Wed, Feb 24 2016

Deryck Shakespeare grew up around his father's Porsches, and inherited a white 1978 930 from his uncle just before the relative's death. Now, it looks like the turbocharged coupe might go to Shakespeare's son someday, as this latest video from Petrolicious' highlights a family bond that spans three generations. Shakespeare's Porsche still looks lovely, and it barks a wonderful burble from the exhaust, too. Driving it, however, can be a handful. There're no power steering or electronic aids, and the engine has lots of power and turbo lag. "The technology isn't in the car to cope with the amount of horsepower," he says in the video. Since owning it, Shakespeare and his son have bonded over the Porsche. Deryck plans to hand over the 930 to his boy someday when he's ready to handle this tricky kind of automobile. His son even saves his allowance to upgrade the interior. With that attitude, he should make a great owner someday... just like his dad. Related Video:

Buy a McLaren P1 GTR, Porsche 918 Spyder, and a Ferrari LaFerrari all in one place

Fri, Apr 21 2017

The McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder, and Ferrari LaFerrari, are arguably the three greatest hypercars yet. Of course, their extremely limited production meant that some ultra-wealthy individuals may have missed out on picking one up. In fact, to get a LaFerrari, you needed to have owned a certain number of Ferraris, and be in good graces with the company. However, if there are any super-rich car enthusiasts reading this right now, your chance to buy one or all of these three supercars is coming up next month at the RM Sotheby's Villa Erba auction in Italy. It will occur on May 27, and feature a McLaren P1 GTR, Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach, and Ferrari LaFerrari. 2016 McLaren P1 GTR McLaren fans, will RM Sotheby's won't offering just any McLaren P1, but rather the hardcore, track-prepped GTR variant. In fact, the GTR is so hardcore that it isn't legal for the street. This particular version went to specialist Lanzante to be converted for road use. Take note that it's only road legal in the UK, and it may not meet laws for other countries. However, that's still more than most GTRs can boast, and if you have the money for this, you shouldn't have any issue taking it to the UK to unleash the P1 GTR's 986 horsepower on public roads. This car could use some driving, too, as it only has about 223 miles on it, some of which included just one track event. RM Sotheby's expects this McLaren to go for between $3.4 million and $3.85 million. 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach View 31 Photos The Porsche 918 Spyder going up for auction is a special one as well. The first difference you'll notice is that it has been painted a custom color called "Arrow Blue," a hue specially mixed up as part of Porsche's custom paint service. It also features the lightweight Weissach package, which loses a few extra pounds by replacing an assortment of parts for lighter components. Among them are magnesium wheels and wheel bearings, carbon fiber roof, windshield frame, rear fenders, and rear view mirrors, and even titanium-backed brake pads. According to RM Sotheby's those pads have been replaced with fresh 918-spec pieces. The previous owner clearly enjoyed his or her 918, as it has just over 6,800 miles. In case you're interested in a well-loved 918, the auction house expects it to sell for just under $1.3 million to about $1.5 million.
