1973 Porsche 914 Base 2.0l on 2040-cars
Branford, Connecticut, United States
Body is in good shape requiring very little work. Car is on rotisserie to gain access to underside for replacement/repair of bottom pan, battery box, and rocker areas. Rotisserie was made by Accessible Systems and is included in the pricing(rotisserie was purchased for use on this car and cost $1340 in Aug. of 2003 and all rotisserie parts are to go with sale). I am the second owner of car. The car was purchased new, in CA, by the original owner. The car package is being sold as is,where is with no performance warranty. Buyer will need to make shipping arrangements. Payment can be cash, bank draft, or Paypal., I have purchased a 356 which requires some work, I am 80 years old, and I don't figure I can get both projects done in a timely manner!!

New Porsche 4-cyl engines to range from 1.6L to 2.5L
Mon, 02 Jun 2014Recent rumors of a turbocharged, flat-four-engine from Porsche for the Boxster (pictured testing above), Cayman and maybe other models go back over a year. The latest scuttlebutt indicates that there could be three variants on the horizon with 1.6-, 2.0- and 2.5-liter displacements and power as high as 360 horsepower.
Car magazine in the UK claims to have access to the specifications for the project and thinks the 2.0- and 2.5-liter versions are guaranteed for production for the Boxster and Cayman. However, it believes a question mark still looms over the 210-hp 1.6L because the engine would go into a new, smaller sports car that still doesn't have a green light for production.
Regardless of displacement, the new fours would be turbocharged and direct-injected. The 2.0-liter would produce around 286 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque, and the 2.5-liter would make about 360 hp and 347 lb-ft. Earlier reports pegged some parts sharing with the current flat-six.
2015 Porsche Cayenne S
Tue, 23 Sep 2014Oh, Porsche.
Just as the dust settles over the 911 GT3's no manual gearbox kerfuffle, the Germans have gone and yanked the yummy naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 from the Cayenne S and replaced it with a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6. Is nothing sacred in Porscheland?
Perhaps not... but that's not necessarily a bad thing. After all, Porsche famously once said they'd never build a diesel, but when they did, it was actually rather stellar.
Leno steals Porsche 918 from The Quail for latest Garage episode
Sat, 31 Aug 2013Just because he's a famous celebrity doesn't mean Jay Leno got to take it easy at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance earlier this month. Having already spent some time with the gorgeous Cadillac Elmiraj Concept and Ed Welburn for a recent episode of Jay Leno's Garage, the late night talk show host also got to put a few miles on a prototype version of the Porsche 918 Spyder.
Like a usual episode of JLG, Leno first goes over the details of the car with Frank Walliser, head of the 918 Spyder's development, before taking it out for spin. Check out the full episode, which is posted below, to hear what Walliser has to say about the car. More importantly, though, crank up your computer's volume and let the car's high-revving engine and amazing exhaust note do plenty of talking for itself.
