 2002 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet Convertible

This 911 has a perfect body. And new tires. Inside is in great shape. The thing is I live in a small town and I'm tired of having to drive 2 hours one way for maintenance.  Last year the motor failed. I had a shop sent the motor off. He sent it to Motor Meister in Southern CA which is a horrible place that filed bankruptcy.  He replaced the motor with a used one with 41K miles and put an upgraded LN IMS bearing in it. This cost me 13K. The shop I got the work done was not happy about having to replace the motor and because I was to stupid to get the paper work when I picked it up he won't answer my calls about any documents on it or talk to me about it knocking.  (He is 3 hours one way from me). I just put new tires on this year and had it aligned.  It has always drove and handled like a super car should.  I'm afraid to drive it because I'm afraid it will break down in it's current condition. Therefore I won't let anyone test drive it. You can buy it based on it having a bad motor now. If it does not bring what I'm asking I'll fix it. The way I look at it is with a total rebuild from a reputable shop that seems to run $7500-$10000 and the body looking good. You can have a 911 that looks as good as any with a better than new motor.

You see I put painted light covers on it to give it an updated look. Which alone makes it look clean and better than most 996's. The top is in great shape and everything else worked when I parked it. You can tell by it conditions that it has been well cared for. The body has just over 100,000 miles.

If you bid on it be able to pay for it and pick it up within two weeks.  20% down within  72 hours. Do not call if you are out of the country and have some kind of strange way of paying. I want someone to pick it up with that full payment.

Clean title

The only trade I would consider is a Lotus Elise in great running shape because my local shop can maintain them.

Porsche 911 and Citro"en DS lovechild would look like this

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

The early Porsche 911 and the Citroën DS were two cars produced in the same era (though the DS launched in 1955, nearly 10 years before the 911), but they were vastly different from each other. The 911 was a uniquely German, pure-bred sports car, while the French-built DS had four doors and focused more on ride quality than sporting intentions. That made it all the more surprising when we came across the 911DS, a creation that binds the rear half of the Citroën to the front of an early, longhood 911.
The folks at Brandpowder are behind the creation, which we surmise was an exercise in design rather than an actual, completed project (some of the images look Photoshopped), but it's compelling nonetheless, with a turbocharged flat-six providing 260 horsepower. We hope someone builds it - though we're sure if that happened the early 911 crowd would cry afoul at one of its increasingly rare and valuable Porsches being grafted onto an old French car.
But as Brandpowder points out lightheartedly, perhaps the creation could transcend popular car culture: "The 911DS represents the effort of two countries, a genuine attempt to join their energy and talent into one thing. We hope Germany and France will be inspired by Brandpowder's story, as a metaphor for a better and greater Europe."

President Obama will be on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

Tue, Dec 22 2015

The seventh season of Jerry Seinfeld's excellent Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee will debut on Wednesday, December 30, and if this first trailer is any indication, the guest lineup is damn impressive. But rather than building up to one big guest over the course of the season, the show is starting with one of the biggest guests possible – the president of the United States. President Barack Obama will join Seinfeld behind the wheel of what looks like a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray for a trip around the South Lawn of the White House. According to CBS, the pair will enjoy their coffee in the staff dining room, which is probably a better idea than crippling Washington, D.C., with a Stingray-led motorcade. Aside from the president, Seinfeld has recruited a couple comedy icons, including first-timers Will Ferrell and Steve Martin. Also appearing are Garry Shandling, Sebastian Maniscalco, and Kathleen Madigan. The four-wheeled stars will include the Corvette, a Plymouth Superbird, a Chevy Camaro, a classic Porsche 911, a BMW 2002, and what we think is a (rather troublesome) 1952 Siata 208 8V Coupe Balbo. You can check out the entire trailer up at the top of the page. Techart modified Porsche 911 Turbo S packs 620 hp, 0-62 in 2.8 seconds

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Considering how many absolutely ridiculous tuner cars are featured in Geneva (stay tuned to see plenty, as our coverage continues), it's often refreshing to see some of the more modestly modified cars, like this new Porsche 911 Turbo S from the folks at Techart. Visually, there's a subtle body kit, new wheels, a new spoiler, and some lame decals on the front end, but it basically ends there. That's because Techart's mission is really about higher performance. Increased dynamism, as the Germans say.
An ordinary 911 Turbo S produces 560 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. But the Techart kit adds 60 hp and 96 lb-ft to those already high numbers, for a coupe that dishes out a total of 620 hp and 612 lb-ft. Techart says that, in Sport Plus mode, its modified 911 Turbo S will accelerate to 62 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds, and the top speed has been increased to 204 miles per hour. Crazy stuff.
To further drive its performance upgrades home, Techart has fitted this 911 Turbo S with a sport exhaust system with valve control, for a more robust exit interview, at the push of a button. We imagine it sounds awesome. Have a look at the Techart Turbo S in the gallery, above.
