 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Convertible

This is a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera that is in the process of undergoing a custom wide body transformation.
This car just needs a little bit more time and it can be finished into a gorgeous show car.
The car comes with a clean history report and clean NYS Title. I have posted with this listing a picture of the car in its original state prior to modifications. As you can see the car was an original non damaged car to start with. The convertible top operates perfectly, the car runs and drives 100%. The only modifications made are to the body. The car has its original hood (with proper Porsche stickers adhered by factory). The interior of the car is immaculate and all original.  I have some miscellaneous parts that will come with the car as well for the completion of the project. The bumper has mesh inserts that can me painted the same color as the car or a contrasting color.

I have a lot of pictures of the car as it went thru the upgrade process that I will include with the sale of the car.

The following upgrades have been made:

BODY KIT:
The Body Kit came from Better Bodies Motor Sport in San Diego CA.
betterbodiesmotorsport.com
This kit is the 996 GTR 750 Wide Body Kit
Kit includes:  front bumper, front and rear flares, side rockers, GTR rear bumper
with an MSRP of  $3200.00
996 Twin Turbo style rear quarter air ducts w/splitters custom designed for the Stock 996
with an MSRP of $350.00

The body kit has been installed on the car. Original front and rear fenders cut and body kit epoxied onto the original body. Rockers have been installed and custom brackets made for support. Rear custom air ducts have been measured and put in place. Custom brackets were made for the bumpers and the bumpers have been sanded and adjusted for custom fit so that body lines match. The hardest part and  most time consuming part of the the installation of a body kit has already been done.

DOORS:
These lambo vertical doors are a labor and pocket book of love!
The hinges are from LSD-Doors
Part #50071002  MSRP $3988.99
This gull wing door kit allows you to open your original doors in Lamborghini Style. In the course of installation the factory hinges have been replaced with vehicle specific LSD fittings.
These doors operate perfectly, they have been professionally installed and the doors have been rewired so that all door options operate as they were meant to (power windows, power locks etc.)
During the installation process a replacement washer reservoir is needed and has been installed on this car as well.
Part #68520006  MSRP   132.00

WHEELS:
The rims are 19" Porsche Wheels in Black and Chrome finish. Made from strong aircraft quality aluminum.
USA RIM MSRP: $1495.00

TIRES:
Front:    Falken FK-452  235/35/19
Rear: Falken FK-452  315/25/19
MSRP: $1400.00
These tires are brand new!

Spacers were bought from Better Bodies Motorsport for the upgraded wider wheels and tires. We put 1 inch spacers on the front of the car and 1.5 inch spacers in the rear.
MSRP $99.00 each  Total of $496.00

CALIPERS:
All 4 Calipers have been professionally powder coated in Red paint. Porsche Decal placed on them and then clear coated.
Cost:  $1200.00

EXHAUST:
Custom dual Stainless Steel Exhaust

The doors and the hood are factory. They have been prepped and primed due to having some minor stone chips in the original paint.

This car is a great way to have a project car but not have to start from scratch. The most expensive portions have been completed already!
Just a little more labor and paint and it will be good to go! More than $50,000 invested so far, between car, parts and labor.

I reserve the right to advertise and sell the car locally and end auction early if necessary. The car is being sold "as is". Please view pictures and ask questions prior to bidding.

2014 Porsche Cayman S

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

A Blue-Blooded Valentine
I need you to understand what it's like to drive this car. I'm not talking about your ability to comprehend the words on this page or process the figures that surround the 2014 Porsche Cayman S, but rather what it feels like to take control of a car conceived, designed, engineered and manufactured to set your prefrontal cortex alight with all the glee a Zippo typically reserves for pine needles marinated in jet fuel. From the instant you put your tail in the driver's seat, the Cayman sets about impregnating your veins with a full and varied spectrum of ludicrous emotion. It's not like taking the family pickup to market, I can tell you that much.
For 2014, the next-generation Cayman features many of the same styling tweaks first displayed on the coupe's drop-top cousin, the Boxster, though a spate of mechanical changes, more power, less weight and better efficiency join the party to further differentiate this model from its predecessor. And while additions like rev-matched downshifts and electronic power steering help push the Cayman into a new era, one fact remains unchanged: This is one of the best driving cars on the market. Period. Bear with me and I'll try to explain exactly why that is.

Porsche 911 driven by McQueen on Le Mans set for auction

Mon, Oct 19 2015

Another piece of Porsche memorabilia from the movie Le Mans is going up for auction with Christie's at The Exceptional Sale on Nov. 4 in Paris. This is a 1971 911 T that Steve McQueen used as his personal car during filming - it is not the 1970 911 S seen in the movie's opening sequence. It is one of the Porsches provided by two-time Le Mans winner and stunt driving double Jo Siffert. McQueen's production company CBS Solar Films bought the 911 T from Siffert, one of four 911s CBS Solar bought from the Swiss driver for use in and during filming. McQueen gifted the car to co-star and leading lady Elga Andersen. When she died in 1994 she willed it to her best friend, and the friend sold it to the current owner, who put it up for sale. None of them put the car to much use, as it has only 28,637 miles on the odometer, which is fewer than 55 miles per month for the last 44 years. The pre-sale estimate for this car is $284,000 to $397,000. By comparison, the 911 S used in the movie's opening sequence sold at auction in 2011 at Monterey for $1,375,000. In addition to being a relative bargain in that case, it comes with a scan of the original contract from Siffert to Anderson giving her the car, and a picture of McQueen and his son Chad with the coupe. Porsche planning customer driving center at Le Mans

Fri, 29 Nov 2013

Porsche seems to be on a campaign to build driving centers for its customers to allow them to experience the capabilities of their cars on track. It has one under way in Los Angeles, another in development at its North American headquarters in Atlanta, and a British center set up at the Silverstone circuit. Now the latest reports indicate that Porsche is planning yet another driving center at Le Mans.
The new facility is earmarked to be built at the Circuit de la Sarthe right by the start/finish line, incorporating the Porsche Curves that bridge the Arnage corner and the Ford Chicanes on the West side of the famous track.
Porsche is reportedly still seeking approval from the Automobile Club de l'Ouest that manages the circuit, and once given the green light, would still take some time to complete. But the idea of driving a 911 flat out on the legendary track is likely to make more than a few mouths water, particularly as the German automaker prepares its full-on assault of the famous endurance race next year.
