This Carrera Cabriolet is referred to as the 996 series made from 1998 to 2004, the first of the water cooled 911s.
It comes with a removable hard top with rollable stand which is rare at it gives the car a totally different look
with the hard top. Two cars in one. Note some pictures have the top and some do not. This is one of the cleanest
Porches you have ever seen. Interior, exterior and engine look as if it has just come off the show room floor. Just
18,946 miles. As some may know this year’s 996 had a problem with the intermediate shaft bearing. This car had
the $2,200 fix and I can provide a copy of the paid invoice showing it was fixed as well as all servicing records.
If anyone has heard of this problem I suggest they read a certain article titled, "How To Own A Ridiculously Cheap
And Reliable Porsche 911". To find it google the entire title and it is the first article that shows up. It is
about how these cars are a “ridiculously” good deal especially when the fixes when done early like this one.
The color is also a rare one - pastel yellow. Pictures aren’t doing it justice. It has all leather seats.
Attached a copy of the spec sheet showing all the extras that went along with it as well as the window sticker.
I am selling this for my dad who was the third owner of it. He is 80 and it is just too hard for him to get in and
out of it so he hardly drove it the last 2.5 years he owned it. It is one of four cars he owns. My brother and I
joke this was his favorite son as it got better care than we did. There are no issues, no accidents. Current on all
service.
Comes with too many features to mention them all. Zoom in the spec picture if you can to see the details. Not shown
in the spec sheet is the aftermarket phone system called Parrot my dad had installed. Also, comes with $2,000 worth
of fitted Porsche luggage as seen in one of the pictures as well as all the service records. The air is ice cold.
Clean Carfax, comes with all the keys, manuals, heated seats. Wheels are mint. Comes with an indoor AND an outdoor
cover. Always garaged. If you want me to take pictures from a certain angle or underneath car, just let me know.
This is a truly rare special car and whoever gets it will be getting a bargain.

Watch Larry Kosilla resurrect the finish of this barn-find 1966 Porsche 912

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

Larry Kosilla, the founder of the Ammo NYC line of car cleaning products, has his own show YouTube's Drive network - we saw his work before when he gave a Ferrari 288 GTO a two-day detailing job. On this episode, Kosilla gets called in to do his best with a 1966 Porsche 912, a car that was last registered in 1990 and recently found in a barn in Connecticut.
Among the expected dirt and cobwebs, the Irish Green Porsche is also covered what is assumed to be cat fur and "waste." The car is in such delicate condition, however, that Kosilla can't wash it for fear of getting more water in it than on it, so he has to steam and wipe the entire thing down before he begins the paint correction process. In addition to the thorough knowledge of his work and his ability to explain it simply, the episode is captioned with further information one of Porsche's popular but less regarded models, and how Kosilla does what he does.
You'll find a compelling 29 minute masterclass in the video below.

Panamera-bodied SUV spy photos suggest Porsche Cayenne Coupe is coming

Fri, Aug 5 2016

WIth the current Porsche Cayenne approaching its seventh model year an all new version is on the way. But we also here that there will be a coupe-style variant similar to the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe following soon after. And yes, we gave up this semantic fight long ago - in this case "coupe" simply means a sportier, lower roofline similar to the style of an actual two-door. These spy photos give us some idea of what a Cayenne coupe could look like, although only in very rough form. That's because you're looking at a 2017 Porsche Panamera body stretched over a taller SUV platform. Even with the low resolution of these long-lens pictures, you can see the extensions grafted on below the doors and bumpers. Of course, with Porsche styling language more of less consistent across its entire model range the general look of the next Cayenne - or Cayenne Coupe - won't be much of a surprise. And we expect the interior to closely mimic what we've seen with the new Panamera. The SUV's true visual character will depend on the details, and we'll have to wait for the production version to see that. Porsche still deciding on one or two new 911 plug-in hybrids

Tue, May 29 2018

Back in March, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume told Autocar that the coming Porsche 911 plug-in hybrid "will be the most powerful 911 we've ever had." That quote portended a 992-series 911 with 700 horsepower or more. A new report in Auto Express, however, suggests Porsche is having energetic debates about just what the 911's hybrid strategy will be, and that the only agreed-upon plug-in hybrid 911 so far is a milder version to sit in the middle of the range. Putting all our rumors in a row, in January, Automobile reported on an electrically-assisted 911 with 485 hp and 561 pound-feet of torque. The new AE piece effectively endorses that, saying the mid-range hybrid would follow the program established by the all-wheel drive Cayenne e-Hybrid that produces a combined 455 hp and 516 lb-ft. The 911 would naturally use a flat-six instead of the Cayenne's 3.0-liter V6, and the sports car would be tuned for better sound response and sharper reflexes. AE says fuel economy for this hybrid should be at least 80 eMPG, with emissions of less than 80 grams per kilometer. The current base Carrera is currently rated at a maximum 38.2 mpg in the UK, with minimum emissions of 169 g/km. The hybrid, fitted with a double-clutch gearbox and Porsche's mechanical all-wheel-drive system, could run from a stop to 62 miles per hour in less than four seconds, making it more efficient than a base Carrera and much faster than a Carrera 4S. AE says there remains only "the potential for Porsche to add a second, more powerful hybrid 911," and says its sources claim that's what's "causing the most consternation behind closed doors." This one would be the twin-turbocharged, 700-hp beastie that, as a series production car, would have a hard time not usurping the 540-hp Turbo, 580-hp Turbo S, and 607-hp Turbo S Exclusive. True, the hybrid would be handicapped with a 550-pound battery pack, but the instant acceleration and handling benefits of electric AWD — with no connection between the axles — could provide the final edge over the other three. As such, it makes sense that there'd be a whole lot of debate about a flagship 911 hybrid. On the other hand, such a monster seems like an eventuality in view of Porsche's electrified aspirations, the lessons gained from the 918 Hybrid and the 919 Hybrid Le Mans racer, and the fact that CEO Blume has already spoken. The Stuttgart carmaker expects a sales mix of 25 percent electric, 25 percent hybrid, and 50 percent conventional powertrains by 2025.
