1994 Porsche 911 Strosek on 2040-cars
Mount Dora, Florida, United States

With less than 8,000 original miles, this 2
owner 1994 Porsche Speedster is among the rarest Porsche's available anywhere, try finding another one for under
$150k, you won't! It was purchased new in South Florida by famed Hawaiian artist Christian Riese Lassen who
didn’t want just another Speedster, he wanted something special, a Porsche that no one else had, so he
commissioned South Florida custom Porsche builder Prototech to modify it into a one of a kind Strosek Turbo S
Speedster. No expense was spared to build this masterpiece, including upgrading the original motor to a stage III
turbo charged motor producing over 500hp! Once you have driven this Speedster, the stock version just doesn't do
it. Additional upgrades include, complete custom leather interior with matching red stitching on door panels, dash,
original sport seats, and shifter knob, RUF design steering wheel and pedals. HID headlights, custom built speaker
boxes wrapped in leather that fit perfectly behind the seats, and on the door panels to complement the Alpine sound
system. The car is fitted with Kinesis 3 piece polishes wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 335/35 ZR 18” rear and
265/35 ZR 18” front tires. The brakes have been upgraded to Porsche Turbo S “Big Reds” Calipers and cross
drilled rotors. This is one of only 16 Tiptronic Speedsters ever made adding to its rarity. I purchased the car in
2002 with only 5,800 miles on it, as soon as I received it I sent it back to ProtoTech for a front to rear
inspection and additional upgrades. I have primarily used it for exotic car shows where it consistently “stole
the show”. In fact, whenever a stock Speedster was next to this one spectators wouldn't even bother to look at
the stock one, of course that never sat well with the proud owner of the stock version. This car has been
meticulously maintained and in showroom condition. Because of the extraordinarily low mileage, and the rapid
increase in demand and value for 1994 Speedsters, the new owner has the option to keep it as is, or return it to
its original factory condition. This is the perfect addition to your collection, don’t let it get away. Will
consider a trade for high end exotics (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Austin Martin ect.) of equal value.

Fri, Dec 12 20142014 has been a banner year for Porsche, as the company has moved over 169,000 units through November, an increase of around 12,000 units over the same period in 2013. During last month alone, the company's sales saw a year-over-year jump of 25 percent. The European market, meanwhile, saw an 18-percent jump in sales, while its North American efforts have jumped 13 percent. "This strong November is evidence that our strategy is working extremely well," Porsche board member Bernhard Maier said in the accompanying statement. "It also confirms our commitment to taking advantage of every opportunity presented in the global markets." Those notable sales gains aside, this latest sales report comes with some bad news for the overwhelming majority of Porsche fans – the last 918 Spyder has been sold. All 297 cars have been spoken for, with US deliveries set to begin soon. According to Porsche, there are currently around 100 Spyder owners spread across Germany and China. Historic race cars highlight the RM Sotheby's 2023 Le Mans sale
Sat, Jun 3 2023Auction house RM Sotheby's is celebrating 100 years of the 24 Hours of Le Mans by organizing a big sale on the day before the race. The cars scheduled to cross the auction block have all spent time on the track, and the catalog shows how racers have evolved since the 1930s. Browsing through RM's auction catalog is like taking a five-minute course in the history of racing. The oldest car is a 1932 Aston Martin Le Mans 'LM8' that's had a remarkable life. It was developed and built for competition and entered in the 1932 24 Hours of Le Mans by the Aston Martin factory team, where it finished seventh. It was ultimately sold to a private owner but it survived, which shouldn't be taken for granted: teams often destroyed obsolete race cars, and the list of special vehicles that didn't survive World War II is longer than you'd think. Paul Sykes bought the car in 1955 and used it as his daily driver. Imagine walking out of a shop in a British village in the 1960s and finding a 1932 race car parked next to your Mini. Sykes ultimately bought another daily driver, but he kept the Aston Martin for a total of 55 years. The second-oldest car is a 1936 Delahaye 135 S with a body by coach builder Pourtout. RM notes that this is one of the most significant pre-war competition Delahaye models and adds that it finished second in the 1938 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It continued racing until 1956 and then spent several decades hidden in storage. It was fully restored in 2005, and it's now eligible to compete in historic races such as the Mille Miglia and the Le Mans Classic. Restoring it was easier said than done: the car was rebodied twice before being tucked away. None of the cars crossing the block were built in the 1940s, so we skip ahead to the 1950s with a 1954 OSCA MT4 by Morelli. It's one of 72 built, according to RM, and only 19 of those were fitted with the twin-cam, 1.5-liter 2AD engine. It raced at Le Mans in 1954 but ended up disqualified following an accident. Another highlight from the 1950s is a 1958 Lister-Jaguar 'Knobbly' finished in yellow and green. We said that all of the cars crossing the block have spent time on the track, but that doesn't mean they were built to race. The 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series III is a street-legal model, yet it's included in the auction because it was used as a safety car during the 1963 edition of the race.
Watch Larry Kosilla resurrect the finish of this barn-find 1966 Porsche 912
Thu, 25 Jul 2013Larry Kosilla, the founder of the Ammo NYC line of car cleaning products, has his own show YouTube's Drive network - we saw his work before when he gave a Ferrari 288 GTO a two-day detailing job. On this episode, Kosilla gets called in to do his best with a 1966 Porsche 912, a car that was last registered in 1990 and recently found in a barn in Connecticut.
Among the expected dirt and cobwebs, the Irish Green Porsche is also covered what is assumed to be cat fur and "waste." The car is in such delicate condition, however, that Kosilla can't wash it for fear of getting more water in it than on it, so he has to steam and wipe the entire thing down before he begins the paint correction process. In addition to the thorough knowledge of his work and his ability to explain it simply, the episode is captioned with further information one of Porsche's popular but less regarded models, and how Kosilla does what he does.
You'll find a compelling 29 minute masterclass in the video below.
